Abstract

The benefits of studying history, in addition to remembering the past, are also valuable lessons for future generations. Through history, the younger generation knows the cultural treasures of the nation so that they can preserve them. One of the original arts belonging to West Kalimantan is the traditional theater mendu. This theater was successful at the beginning of its emergence (1876 AD) until the Japanese colonial era. After that it was dim because society was forbidden by Japan to gather and associate. Mendu was bloated again and became the belle of the 80's which was driven by the maestro Sataruddin Ramli (1948 - 2015). However, this particular art of West Kalimantan is now only a memory. This research aims to describe the golden age of West Kalimantan's traditional theater. The method used is descriptive qualitative form with a literature study approach. The results of the study describe (1) the glory period from the beginning of the emergence of the mendu to the Japanese occupation (1876 - 1942), (2) the traditional theater of the mendu became the belle of the community (1980s - 2000s). Factors that cause the mendu golden period include because in the past the world of entertainment was not yet sophisticated and modern, the characteristics of the traditional and simple community, the story that was served favored by the community at that time, the participation of the Regional Government of West Kalimantan, as well as coaching was held for the younger generation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan fungsi persahabatan yang terkandung dalam kumpulan cerpen karya Tere Liye, Dewi Lestari, Mira Widjaya, dan (2) mendeskripsikan pemanfaatan nilai dan fungsi persahabatan dalam pengembangan modul ajar cerpen berbasis kurikulum merdeka di SMK fase F pada kumpulan cerpen karya Tere Liye, Dewi Lestari, dan Mira Widjaya. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data dalam penelitian melalui dokumen kumpulan cerpen karya Tere Liye, Dewi Lestari, dan Mira Widjaya, serta informan yang meliputi guru bahasa Indonesia, siswa kelas XI SMK Warga Surakarta, dan Sarjana Psikologi. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara dan analisis dokumen. Teknik uji validitas data menggunakan triangulasi sumber data dan triangulasi metode. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis mengalir. Hasil penelitian ditemukan fungsi persahabatan meliputi pertemanan, stimulasi kompetensi, dukungan fisik, dukungan ego, perbandingan sosial, dan intimasi. Temuan dengan data paling banyak menunjukkan kesetiaan, ketulusan, kehangatan, dan keakraban. Kedua, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kumpulan cerpen yang dianalisis sangat relevan untuk dikembangkan menjadi modul pembelajaran cerita pendek di SMK Warga Surakarta. This study aims to (1) describe the function of friendship contained in a collection of short stories by Tere Liye, Dewi Lestari, Mira Widjaya, and (2) describe the use of values ​​and functions of friendship in the development of a short story teaching module based on the independent curriculum in SMK phase F on a collection of short stories by Tere Liye, Dewi Lestari, and Mira Widjaya. The study uses a qualitative descriptive method. Data sources in the study were through documents of short story collections by Tere Liye, Dewi Lestari, and Mira Widjaya, as well as informants including Indonesian language teachers, grade XI students of SMK Warga Surakarta, and Psychology graduates. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews and document analysis. Data validity testing techniques used triangulation of data sources and triangulation of methods. Data analysis used flow analysis techniques. The results of the study found that the functions of friendship include friendship, competence stimulation, physical support, ego support, social comparison, and intimacy. The findings with the most data showed loyalty, sincerity, warmth, and familiarity. Second, the research results show that the collection of short stories analyzed is very relevant to be developed into a short story learning module at SMK Warga Surakarta.

Abstract

The ecological crisis is getting worse over time, resulting in various problems. The ecological crisis is widely represented in literary works but not much has been studied regarding its impact so it needs to be explained in depth. This study aimed to describe the impact of the ecological crisis represented in “Sumur”, a short story by Eka Kurniawan. The data of this research were words, phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs, and discourse in the short story. The data collection technique was a document analysis using the theory of ecocriticsm. The data validity technique used theoretical triangulation through data validity activities based on various theoretical perspectives. The novelty of the research was that no one had previously analyzed the ecocriticism in the short story before. The data analysis technique used interactive analysis. The findings indicated that the impact of the ecological crisis represented in "Sumur" short story included: 1) the effects on the environment in the form of drought, loss of water sources, loss of animal food and habitat, damage to agriculture, climate change, and damage to biodiversity; and 2) the effects on the socio-cultural relations of the community in the form of death and anxiety, population migration and urbanization, and the loss of community culture.

Abstract

Javanese people use food in various traditional rituals as symbols that represent certain meanings and philosophies, one of which is Tumpeng and is used in the Baritan tradition by people in Java. This research aims to reveal the meaning of food in the form of tumpeng in the Baritan tradition practiced by people in the Dieng Plateau, Central Java. This research uses a qualitative approach with ethnolinguistic methods to study and explain the meaning of food. Data and data sources include food used in the traditions held. Data collection techniques through field observations, interviews and documentation. The data was analyzed using meaning triangle analysis to decipher symbols through the stages of understanding concepts, signs and signifiers. The results of the research show that the food used in the Baritan tradition by the people of the Dieng Plateau includes tumpeng with various special colors which have meanings and philosophical elements which also come in various shapes accompanied by complementary foods such as ingkung chicken and apem. The use of this food has meaning and has philosophical value in the form of expressing gratitude to God, hope for abundant sustenance from nature, and apologizing to God and fellow humans. The Baritan tradition in the Dieng Plateau has the meaning of strengthening the relationship between humans, humans and nature, humans and their ancestors, and the relationship between humans and God. Thus, food, especially tumpeng, is not only used for tradition, but also has deep meaning and philosophy so that it represents people's beliefs. AbstrakMasyarakat Jawa menggunakan makanan dalam berbagai ritual tradisi sebagai simbol yang merepresentasikan makna dan filosifi tertentu salah satunya yakni Tumpeng dan digunakan pada tradisi Baritan oleh masyarakat di Jawa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap makna makanan berupa tumpeng pada tradisi Baritan yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat di Dataran Tinggi Dieng, Jawa Tengah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode etnolinguistik untuk mengkaji dan menjabarkan makna makanan. Data dan sumber data berupa makanan yang digunakan dalam tradisi yang digelar. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi lapangan, wawancara, serta dokumentasi. Data dianalisis dengan analisis segitiga makna guna menguraikan simbol melalui tahapan pemahaman konsep, tanda, dan petanda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa makanan yang digunakan pada tradisi Baritan oleh masyarakat Dataran Tinggi Dieng meliputi tumpeng dengan beragam warna khusus yang memiliki pemaknaan dan unsur filosofis yang juga beragam bentuknya disertai dengan makanan pelengkap seperti ayam ingkung dan apem. Penggunaan makanan tersebut memiliki makna dan memiliki nilai filosofos berupa ungkapan rasa syukur pada Tuhan, harapan akan rezeki yang melimpah dari alam, serta permohonan maaf pada Tuhan dan juga sesama manusia. Tradisi Baritan di Dataran Tinggi Dieng memiliki makna memperkuat hubungan antara sesama manusia, manusia dengan alam, manusia dengan leluhur, dan hubungan manusia dengan Tuhan. Dengan demikian, makanan khususnya tumpeng tidak hanya dimanfaatkan untuk tradisi, tetapi juga memiliki makna dan filosofi mendalam sehingga merepresentasikan keyakinan masyarakat.
