Abstract

This research aims to examine legal liability in cases of copyright infringement by Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Indonesia and to evaluate the clarity of the existing legal mechanisms. Based on the analysis, it is found that Law Number 28 of 2014 on Copyright (UUHC) still adheres to an anthropocentric legal paradigm that recognizes only human beings or legal entities as legitimate legal subjects and creators. In the event of copyright infringement by AI, legal responsibility is transferred to the users, developers, or owners of the system, even though there is no explicit and comprehensive normative instrument available to determine liability based on intent, negligence, or economic gain. Furthermore, although institutional structures such as the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI), the Commercial Court, and procedures for litigation and ADR are already in place, the copyright legal system in Indonesia is not yet fully adaptive to the complexity of AI-based infringements—particularly regarding algorithmic processes and the use of unauthorized training data. The potential for copyright violations by AI encompasses various forms, including unauthorized reproduction, illegal compilation, covert plagiarism, infringement of distribution rights, and moral rights violations. The lack of transparency in training data and algorithmic traces exacerbates attribution challenges and creates systemic inequality between technological corporations and the vulnerability of individual creators. Therefore, it is recommended that the government design legal reforms to explicitly recognize AI-generated works, apply the principle of accountable innovation, mandate algorithmic transparency, strengthen the roles of DJKI and Collective Management Organizations, and establish compensation funds for creators. This study highlights the urgency of reconstructing copyright law’s substantive aspects to ensure justice and effective protection in the age of artificial intelligence.

Abstract

Microgreen plants such as lettuce, spinach, and kangkung can be cultivated indoors, with artificial lighting like Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) replacing sunlight. This study compared the growth of kangkung microgreens under artificial lighting using Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) versus without PWM. Two sample trays, each containing 50 grams of kangkung seeds, were placed 50 cm below the light. The first tray used PWM lighting, starting with a 65% duty cycle at 8 a.m, increasing to 100% by 12 p.m, and decreasing back to 65% by 4 p.m. The second tray received constant lighting without PWM. Results showed that PWM improved power efficiency from 16.3 W without PWM to 13.36 W with PWM. Growth of kangkung microgreens improved with PWM, evidenced by better stem length, leaf count, wet weight, stem diameter, petiole length, and leaf width, although single root length with PWM (9.68 cm) was slightly shorter than without PWM (9.98 cm).Base on statistical t-test results showed that there was a significant difference in stem length between lighting treatments using the PWM method and without using the PWM method, with a significance level of 5%. The study successfully developed an automated lighting control system using PWM that enhances plant growth. Keywords: Artificial lighting, Indoor farming, Kangkung, Microgreen, Pulse wave modulation.

Abstract

The United Nations established the Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015 as the 2030 Sustainability Development Agenda, which provided a comprehensive framework to guide global efforts toward a more sustainable and inclusive future while addressing socioeconomic and environmental issues. As a result, businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as part of large corporations, are intensely interested in transforming business models towards sustainability. This article investigates the development of articles on sustainable business models (SBM), specifically SBM in SMEs. The study was conducted using articles obtained from the Elsevier Scopus database. The analysis was carried out using bibliographic research techniques using VOSviewer software and content analysis. Based on the study conducted, it was found that SBM had been discovered between 2002 and 2003, although relatively few articles about business models were found, namely 827 out of 16,784 business model documents. Meanwhile, there are far fewer Scopus documents on SBM for SMEs, namely 19 articles, most of which are systematic literature reviews and case studies. Content analysis shows that SBM in SMEs needs to consider adaptation to uncertain environmental and institutional contexts. Regarding strategic content, the need to maintain symbiotic relationships with stakeholders, founder values, social and environmental values, leadership, value-based competencies, and manager commitment is essential for SBM. Developing a sustainable business model for SMEs is carried out by integrating sustainability into its value chain.

Abstract

The energy contained in the flow of water from the tank can be utilized as an additional source of electrical energy, namely by making a Pico Hydro Power Plant (PLTPh). However, the flow of water produced is certainly not strong enough because it only relies on the height of the tank laying, and the water discharge is not too large. So, the energy from sunlight is also utilized simultaneously and becomes a hybrid PV-hydro power plant (PLTH PV-hydro) with the aim of producing more optimal alternative energy. PLTH PV-Hydro is designed using a combination of 10 WP monocrystalline solar panels and two 10W DC generators coupled with turbines. The distance between the water drop point and the generator is designed to be as high as 2 meters and uses a 12 V, 5Ah VRLA battery as an electrical energy storage system. Based on the tests that have been carried out, the water discharge measurement results are 147.82 cm3/s = 147.82 × 10-3 l/s. The total power that PLTH can generate is 5.32 Watts using a 5-watt lamp load, and it can charge the battery within 6 hours.
