Abstract

Cardiac arrest is a condition where the heart stopped abruptly, and this condition usually occurs in someone who has had heart disease or has never experienced it. In terms of clinical, someone who is experiencing a state of cardiac arrest found no signs of a palpable pulse and other signs of circulation. Efforts in terms of handling cases of the cardiac arrest itself need the role of nurse, one cardiac arrest treatment efforts by nurses are implementing Basic Life Support. The factors that affect the implementation of BHD itself is knowledge and education. The purpose of this research is analizing the correlation between knowledge and education on the implementation of BHD in cardiac arrest patients by nurses in the Emergency Installation and ICU of the General Hospital of Dr. Soedarso Pontianak. This study uses a cross-sectional approach with descriptive corelational type. The population in this study are 56 nurses. Sampling technique using total sampling. The result of this study, based on two variables: the knowledge and education have the same p-value that is p=0.000 or α <0.05. It means that there is a correlation between knowledge and education on the implementation of BHD in patients with cardiac arrest in General Hospital of Dr. Soedarso Pontianak.

Abstract

Human trafficking is being global crime worldwide. The practice of human trafficking in the form of human exploitation implicated in human rights violations. Survivors of human trafficking will experience health problems both physical and mental problems. The purpose of this systematic review was to identify and summarize the mental health problems of human trafficking victims. Systematic search conducted on March 12, 2019 in data of Proquest, Springer Link, and Scopus by keyword *human health of human trafficking* between the years of 2013-2018. The result of this search found 14 journals that match with inclusion criteria. The inclusion criteria were peer-reviewed journal articles, written in English, all forms of exploitation, the samples are aged >15 years old. The results shown the incidence of human trafficking greatly affected the mental health of victim. Victims experienced anxiety, depression, isolation, disorientation, aggression, suicidal ideation, attention deficit, psychotic disorders, behavioral and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). For further research required in efforts to overcome the mental health impact of human trafficking victims. The focus on preventing efforts was through government campaigns, IOM and law enforcement and also the fulfillment of the rights of human trafficking victims

Abstract

Cardiac arrest is one of the highest causes of death in the world. This condition requires the handling of cardiac arrest based on the chain of survival concept. The chain of survival concept is carried out by nurses who have sufficient skills to handle cardiac arrest. Skills can be obtained either through education and training based on simulation or using technology such as self-directed videos. The purpose of this study was to identify the differences in self-direct video and simulations of nurse skills in advanced cardiac life support. This study used Quasi-Experimental Design by pretest-posttest with a control group approach. The 42 respondents were divided into two groups. Skills are measured before and after learning with each method. Data were analyzed using Wilcoxon and Mann-whitney tests. The results showed changes in skills before and after learning in the two methods, with each p-value = 0.000. There were no differences in skills changes before and after learning in both groups with a p-value = 0.437. Learning using self-directed videos and simulations can improve nurse skills in carrying out advanced cardiac life support.

Abstract

Critical conditions as one of the main focused in hospital care. This condition required rapid, comprehensive and quality management that carried out by nurses especially in the treatment of cardiovascular disease. This condition caused pressure on the nurse and causes stress. This stress can be overcome by complementary and alternative therapy in the form of mindfulness meditation. The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of mindfulness meditation therapy in reducing stress on nurses in ICU and ICCU. This study is quasy experiment research design through one group pretest posttest approach with respondents were 14. The results of this study indicated that there was decreased in stress before and after intervention with p-value=0000 and stress before and 1 week after intervention with p-value=0.001. Mindfulness therapy can reduce nurse stress.

Abstract

Factor of the accident was the highest cause of mortality. The mortality or death caused by accident could be avoided through a fast and appropriate first aid. The ambulance was a component of EMS that must reach the incident location in a quick time. This research was aimed to identify the effects of ambulance station location and ambulance response time.  In the literature review, four databases were used as EBSCOhost, Proquest, Science Direct, and SpringerLink and through access help from Brawijaya University library. PRISMA method was exerted in this research to select the articles and choose as many as 15 research articles that fulfill inclusion criteria. The response time of EMS was very influential for patient care and safety. The standby ambulance location can affect the officer's response time. The determination of the ambulance location for the EMS service provider was very significant to offer an optimal service.
