Abstract

Education in the 21st century requires a shift toward student-centered learning and the strengthening of 4C skills (Creativity, Critical Thinking, Collaboration, and Communication) as mandated by the Pancasila Student Profile and the Merdeka Curriculum. Needs analysis in elementary schools shows that existing LKPD are still traditional, lack problem-solving components, do not facilitate collaboration, and have not supported higher-order thinking. This condition indicates the urgency of developing contextual and interactive LKPD based on Problem-Based Learning (PBL) to reinforce students’ 4C skills in grade IV IPAS lessons. This study aims to develop PBL-based LKPD to improve students’ 4C skills using the ADDIE model. The research was conducted in SDN 02 Maek, SDN 06 Maek, and SDN 07 Maek involving 30 students and 3 teachers. The product’s validity met the required standards, with media validation at 71.6% (valid), language validation at 80% (valid), and content validation at 66% (valid). Practicality testing showed scores of 86.3% from teachers (very practical) and 82.6% from students (very practical). The LKPD’s effectiveness was demonstrated through an average N-Gain of 0.77 (high). Thus, the developed LKPD is categorized as valid, very practical, and effective in strengthening 4C skills in grade IV IPAS learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of basic English language introduction through educational socialization activities on the learning interest of second-grade students at SD Negeri 04 Patamuan, Padang Pariaman. The background of this research is the low interest in learning English among lower-grade students, caused by less engaging teaching methods and minimal stimulation in the school environment. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through participatory observation and in-depth interviews with teachers, students, and the school principal. The results indicate that educational socialization activities packaged in the form of interactive games, songs, and storytelling successfully increased students' learning interest significantly. Students demonstrated high enthusiasm, increased confidence in speaking, and stronger intrinsic motivation to learn English. This study concludes that the introduction of basic English through fun and contextual educational socialization is proven effective in fostering the learning interest of second-grade elementary school students. This research is expected to serve as a reference for teachers and policymakers in designing English learning programs in elementary schools.

Abstract

This community service program supported the implementation of a deep learning approach in the Merdeka Curriculum to develop eight graduate profiles characterized by critical, creative, and adaptive thinking. Many elementary school teachers in Kecamatan V Koto Kampung Dalam, Pariaman City, still lacked a solid understanding of deep learning concepts and implementation strategies, including limited digital literacy, which affected learning quality. The program aimed to strengthen teachers’ competencies in designing and applying deep learning-based instruction aligned with the eight graduate profiles. Participatory Action Research (PAR) was used through stages of problem identification, planning, training, observation, and reflection. Participants were sixth-grade teachers from 31 public elementary schools in the target area. Results showed a significant improvement in teachers’ understanding, indicated by higher post-test scores compared to pre-test scores. In the post-test, 65% of participants achieved perfect scores and the rest obtained very good results. Follow-up mentoring further enhanced teachers’ skills in developing deep learning-based teaching modules. Overall, the training effectively improved teacher professionalism and contributed to better learning quality in elementary schools.

Abstract

Public Street Lighting (PJU) is a basic infrastructure that plays a strategic role in supporting community mobility, particularly at night. This study aims to describe: 1) the conditions of street lighting in Korong Sijangek before and after the reactivation of 5 street light points; 2) changes in residents' night mobility as a direct impact of optimization; and 3) community perceptions regarding the program's benefits. This research used a qualitative descriptive method, with data collected through in-depth interviews using 30 relevant questions, field observations during the Community Service (KKN) period of January–June 2026 in Korong Sijangek, Nagari Sungai Durian, Patamuan District, Padang Pariaman Regency, West Sumatra, and documentation as supporting evidence. Data were analyzed through narrative analysis covering the stages of data collection, data reduction, descriptive presentation, and conclusion drawing. Results showed that prior to reactivation, road conditions had been dark for approximately 6 months, severely limiting residents' nighttime activities and causing fear and anxiety, particularly among the elderly. After reactivating the 5 street light points, significant changes occurred, including increased safety and comfort, improved night mobility that supported social interaction, and positive impacts on micro-economic activities in local stalls. However, residents noted that distances between poles remain too far apart, and additional lighting is needed in rice field and plantation areas far from residential zones. This study concludes that optimizing 5 street light points, though a simple intervention, produced multidimensional impacts on Sijangek community mobility and can serve as a replicable model for other rural areas facing similar challenges.
