Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of innovation in learning at the elementary school level to improve the quality of learning. This study aims to produce valid, practical, and effective learning media using the Book Creator application in learning Natural and Social Sciences in grade IV of Elementary School. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). The subjects of the study were teachers and students of grade IV of SDN 28 Air Tawar Timur, 16 Air Tawar Timur, 18 Air Tawar Selatan, and 05 Air Tawar Barat. Data collection techniques were observation and interviews. The research instrument used validity, practicality, and effectiveness tests. The development of learning media obtained a validity result of 92% with a valid category. The practicality results obtained a score of 92.15% by teachers and a score of 93,59% by students with a practical category. Based on the results of the research that has been conducted, it can be concluded that the development of learning media using the Book Creator application has been valid, practical, and effective in learning Natural and Social Sciences in grade IV of Elementary School. The developed learning media can be an alternative solution for innovative and interesting learning media for students in learning teaching materials.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan strategi inovatif yang diterapkan oleh guru dalam meningkatkan minat belajar siswa di era digital, khususnya di SDN 04 Talang Tangah. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah tantangan yang dihadapi guru dalam menghadapi perubahan karakteristik siswa yang tumbuh dalam lingkungan digital, serta rendahnya minat belajar siswa akibat metode pembelajaran yang kurang relevan dengan zaman. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru di SDN 04 Talang Tangah telah menerapkan berbagai strategi inovatif, seperti pembelajaran berbasis proyek (Project-Based Learning), penggunaan media digital interaktif (video, kuis online), dan penerapan metode gamifikasi untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa. Strategi tersebut mampu meningkatkan kehadiran, partisipasi aktif, serta ketertarikan siswa terhadap materi pelajaran. Temuan ini didukung oleh teori minat belajar dari Slameto, serta teori konstruktivisme dari Piaget dan Vygotsky yang menekankan pentingnya keterlibatan aktif siswa dalam pembelajaran bermakna. Kesimpulannya, strategi inovatif guru yang berbasis teknologi dan pendekatan kreatif efektif dalam meningkatkan minat belajar siswa di era digital. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penguatan kapasitas guru dalam pemanfaatan teknologi serta perlunya studi lanjutan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif untuk memperluas generalisasi hasil.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the perceptions of elementary school teachers towards the implementation of Merdeka Curriculum as an educational policy innovation in Indonesia. This curriculum is expected to be able to answer the challenges of post-pandemic education by offering flexibility, project-based learning, and an emphasis on the character of the Pancasila Student Profile. The research used a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study approach, plus field data from observations and interviews during the Real Work Lecture (KKN) at SD Negeri 04 Talang Tangah, West Sumatra. The results showed that teachers generally responded positively to the freedom in designing learning. However, implementation in the field still faces obstacles such as limited facilities, low training participation, and difficulties in integrating character values into teaching materials. In addition, there is still a gap between teachers' understanding and the delivery of materials in the training. Therefore, support is needed in the form of continuous training, equitable access to resources, and comprehensive evaluation to optimize the implementation of Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara motivasi belajar dan hasil belajar siswa kelas V di SD Negeri 04 Talang Tangah. Latar belakang penelitian didasari oleh fenomena rendahnya motivasi belajar pada sebagian siswa sekolah dasar, yang berdampak pada ketidakoptimalan capaian akademik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Subjek penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas V yang berjumlah 28 orang. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket motivasi belajar yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitas, serta dokumentasi nilai Penilaian Tengah Semester (PTS) semester II tahun ajaran 2024/2025 sebagai indikator hasil belajar. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dan inferensial menggunakan uji korelasi Pearson. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat motivasi belajar siswa berada pada kategori sedang hingga tinggi, sedangkan hasil belajar sebagian besar berada pada kategori baik. Uji korelasi menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara motivasi belajar dan hasil belajar (r = 0,59; p < 0,05). Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa peningkatan motivasi belajar memiliki kontribusi langsung terhadap pencapaian prestasi akademik siswa. Hasil penelitian ini memperkuat teori bahwa faktor motivasi merupakan salah satu kunci keberhasilan pembelajaran di sekolah dasar. Implikasi penelitian ini adalah pentingnya guru dan pihak sekolah untuk merancang strategi pembelajaran yang memotivasi, seperti pemberian reward, penguatan positif, serta pembelajaran yang interaktif dan menyenangkan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor sosial dan kultural yang memengaruhi rendahnya minat belajar masyarakat di Jorong Talang Tangah, sebuah wilayah pedesaan dengan keterbatasan akses pendidikan. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus, di mana data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rendahnya minat belajar dipengaruhi oleh tiga aspek utama, yaitu kondisi ekonomi keluarga yang terbatas, nilai-nilai budaya lokal yang kurang mendukung pendidikan formal, serta keterbatasan fasilitas dan dukungan kelembagaan. Anak-anak di wilayah ini cenderung diarahkan untuk membantu pekerjaan orang tua dibanding melanjutkan pendidikan ke jenjang yang lebih tinggi. Selain itu, sekolah belum optimal dalam memberikan layanan pendidikan yang kontekstual dan partisipatif. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa rendahnya minat belajar bukan hanya disebabkan oleh faktor material, tetapi juga oleh sistem nilai dan struktur sosial yang belum mendukung pendidikan sebagai sarana mobilitas sosial. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pendekatan intervensi yang holistik dan berbasis budaya lokal untuk meningkatkan kesadaran serta partisipasi masyarakat terhadap pentingnya pendidikan.

Abstract

This study aims to increase student interest in Social Studies (IPS) through the use of varied learning media in third-grade students at SD Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP. The typically boring nature of Social Studies learning can be addressed by presenting engaging media tailored to student characteristics. Varied learning media, such as educational videos, images, interactive games, and props, are expected to engage students, engage them, and enhance their understanding of the material. This study used a qualitative approach through observation and interviews to determine students' responses to the use of these media. The results showed that the use of diverse learning media increased student motivation and interest in Social Studies lessons. Students appeared more enthusiastic in discussions, asking questions, and completing assigned assignments. Thus, the use of varied media not only increased student interest but also strengthened their understanding of the material presented. This study recommends that educators at SD Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP optimize the use of varied learning media to improve the quality of Social Studies learning, thereby making the teaching and learning process more enjoyable and effective.

Abstract

This research aims to develop learning media using Wordwall based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) in the subject of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) for fourth grade elementary school students. The research method employed was Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model, which includes analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The participants of this research were students from several elementary schools in Lubuk Begalung, Padang City. Data were collected through expert validation sheets, practicality questionnaires, and student achievement tests. The validation results by media, material, and language experts indicated that the developed media was highly valid. The practicality test showed that both teachers and students found the media easy to use, engaging, and beneficial. Furthermore, the effectiveness test using pre-test and post-test demonstrated significant improvement in student learning outcomes with an average N-Gain score of 0.72, categorized as high. Therefore, Wordwall media integrated with PBL can serve as an innovative solution to improve the quality of IPAS learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to develop, validate, and evaluate the practicality and effectiveness of Quizizz Paper Mode as an interactive learning medium for fourth-grade Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial (IPAS) in elementary schools. The research employed the ADDIE model consisting of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. Data were collected through observations, interviews, expert validation sheets, practicality questionnaires, and learning outcome assessments. The study was conducted in three elementary schools: SDN 07, SDN 02, and SDN 16 Sungai Aur. Validation results from media, material, and language experts produced an average score of 90%, categorizing the media as very valid. Practicality tests involving teachers and students indicated high usability with percentages ranging from 92.5% to 95%. Effectiveness was measured through pre-test and post-test results analyzed using the N-Gain formula, showing substantial improvements with N-Gain scores of 0.77, 0.80, and 0.89, all classified as high. The findings demonstrate that Quizizz Paper Mode is valid, practical, and effective in improving student engagement, motivation, and understanding in IPAS learning. It is recommended as an interactive learning tool to support meaningful learning experiences in elementary schools.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that teachers are not yet fully utilizing the available IT in schools. There is a lack of development of innovative, interactive, and enjoyable teaching materials for students. Therefore, teachers need to improve their ability to process technology-based teaching materials to encourage student enthusiasm for learning. Furthermore, the PBL model has never been used in learning. Based on these problems, this study aims to develop interactive IPAS teaching materials using a wordwall application based on the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in grade IV elementary schools that are valid, practical, and effective. This type of research is research and development (R&D) using the ADDIE model. The ADDIE model consists of five steps: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The designed teaching materials were then validated by a validator using a validation sheet in the form of a questionnaire. Product validation consisted of material experts, media experts, and language experts. For product practicality, it was carried out by filling out questionnaires of teacher responses and student responses. Then, for effectiveness, it was carried out by giving evaluation questions to students. The trial subjects were at SDN 01 Patamuan and the research subjects were at SDN 03 Patamuan and SDN 05 Patamuan. The results of the study obtained a validity level of 95% from the material aspect in the very valid category, 92.5% from the media aspect in the very valid category and 95% from the language aspect in the very valid category. Based on the results of teacher responses and student responses in the trial school, it is known that learning using interactive teaching materials is very practical with a percentage of practicality from teacher responses in the trial school of 92.5%, and from student responses of 93.9%. The percentage of teacher responses in the research school is 95% and the percentage of student responses is 96%. The effectiveness results show very effective results with a percentage increase in student learning outcomes from 74.5% to 97.3% with a N-gain test value of 0.925 or 92.5% in the effective category. Thus, it can be concluded that interactive science teaching materials using wordwall applications based on the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in grade IV of elementary school are valid, practical and effective. to be used in the learning process.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the suboptimal utilization of technology-based learning media in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) instruction at the elementary school level, which causes learning activities to be predominantly teacher-centered, less engaging, and result in low student participation and understanding. Therefore, this research aimed to develop Sparkol Videoscribe-based learning media for Grade V IPAS that meet the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE development model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The product validity was assessed through expert validation questionnaires involving material experts, media experts, and language experts. The practicality of the media was measured using response questionnaires from teachers and students. The effectiveness of the media was determined based on the comparison of students’ pre-test and post-test results at SDN 24 Batuang Taba as the trial school and SDN 31 Tanjung Aur as the research school. The results showed that the learning media was categorized as very valid, with material validity of 86%, media validity of 86%, and language validity of 94%. The practicality test indicated that the media was very practical, with teacher responses of 91% and student responses of 92% at the trial school, and teacher responses of 94% and student responses of 93% at the research school. The effectiveness test produced N-Gain scores of 0.64 (64%) at the trial school and 0.60 (60%) at the research school, both in the effective category. Thus, the Sparkol Videoscribe-based learning media is valid, practical, and effective for use in IPAS learning in Grade V elementary schools.
