Abstract

Soil landslide is one of the most common in the field of Geotechnical due to increased shear stress of a soil mass or decrease in shear strength of the soil mass. In other words, the shear strength of the soil mass is not able to bear the burden of work going on. Disruption to the stability of the slope can be caused by various human activities and natural conditions. Unstable slopes is dangerous to the surrounding environment, therefore slope stability analysis is needed. In this case the condition of Padang Tambak – Liwa street KM.227+400 Lampung Barat experience landslide up the road. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the value of the safety factor and to plan the dimension and stability of sheet pile to the landslide on Padang Tambak – Liwa street KM.227+400 using the Plaxis v.8.2 of computer program. The result of this study obtained the value of safety factor at the initial condition of 0,7106, with displacement of 12,71 x 103 m. The handling of reinforcement slopes of sheet pile profiles of type OT26 U profile which is placed at 2,5 meters from the middle of the highway with a size of 12 meters and then replace the soil layer 1 on the outside of the sheet pile into a slope-like slope soil and reduce the slope to 32° level obtained factor value safety at 1,1532, with displacement of 145,88 x 10-3 m. Handling by reinforcing sheet pile profiles of type OT26 U profile in this condition was considered safe because it met the requirement of safety factor value and had a small displacement value. Keywords: slope stability, safety factor, plaxis, sheet pile, displacement.

Abstract

The subgrade is the base surface for placement of other pavement parts.  The strength and durability as well as the thickness of the pavement construction layer depend on the properties and carrying capacity of this basic soil.  There are many types of soil, one of the basic types of soil that can be said to be bad for a construction is a soil with clay type. The soil samples used were taken from Sidorejo village, Sidomulyo district, South Lampung, then in this study the soil samples were mixed with matos and lime with variations of 5, 8, 10 and 12%.  After obtaining the highest CBR value, soil samples were immersed with the duration of 7, 14, 21, and 28 days to be tested again its CBR value.Soil in this study belongs to the group A-7-5, with LL values 74.112%, PL 35.44% and PI 38.669%.  The dry weight value (γd) and the optimum water content (ωopt) increased as the amount of lime content added to the sample.  In the CBR test, the highest increase of CBR value occurred on a 12% lime mixture variation of 21.5%.  While for CBR testing after curing without immersion, the highest CBR value is found on 28 days of curing duration of 45%.  The addition of lime and matos proved to increase the value of CBR and soil bearing capacity. Keywords : Clay Soil, CBR, Matos, Lime

Abstract

Soils have different types and different carrying capacity. One of them is clay soil that has the low carrying capacity. Viewed from the rapid development of infrastructure in Indonesia, does not rule out the possibility that the infrastructure built in areas with clay soil types. Given the small carrying capacity of the clay, the soil should be improved in order to support the development of a construction.soil improvement with an additional mixture of rice husk ash and matos as stabilizer can improve soil quality. This research was conducted with rice husk ash mixture of 6%, 8%, 10%, and 12% and matos with level 3,3898% gr. Then, curing for 7 days, 14 days, 21 days, and 28 days without immersion. Soil that used in research is from Sidomulyo, South Lampung is a type of clay soil that belongs to the A-7-5 group based on the AASTHO classification. Research in laboratory showed that 28 days of curing with 12% rice husk ash mixture had the highest CBR value from other curing durations. Soil clay CBR value increased from 7.3% to 31.8%. This shows that the ash mixture of rice husk and matos is quite effective in increasing the carrying capacity of clay soil. Keywords : Matos, CBR, Rice Husk Ash

Abstract

In order to obtain a good, strong and sturdy foundation layer, good soil carrying capacity is required.  In addition, the soil also serves to support the foundation of a civil construction such as buildings and pavement. Therefore it is necessary to do soil improvement for soil types that have low carrying capacity. In this final project, a research on high plasticity clay soil is taken from Sidorejo area, Sidomulyo district, South Lampung to find CBR value with variation of immersion time.  From this research, we can see the change of CBR value with immersion variations that have been done for 4, 5, 14, and 28 days. From the research conducted in the Laboratory of Soil Mechanics of Lampung University , it is known that the soil originating from Sidorejo area, Sidomulyo District Southern Lampung is classified into A-7-5 clay soil which has a soil bearing capacity value of 7%.  After the improvement of soil with lime additive substances with optimum content of 12% and 3,472 gr of matos stabilizer which is then done with immersion test with a duration of 4, 5, 14 and 28 days, the value of CBR is 24% at 4 days, 22% at 5 days, 15.6% at 14 days and 9% at 28 days.  The value of CBR obtained tends to decrease as the duration of immersion is increased, so it can be concluded the duration of immersion greatly affects the size of soil bearing capacity.

Abstract

In the field of highway damage to road pavement in addition to weather factors and overloading can also occur due to poor subgrade. A good alternative so that the soil on the highway subgrade does not experience excessive swelling is to use cement additives.Soil samples were tested using subgrade soil material originating from the RA. Basyid passageway of Fajar Baru Village, Jati Agung Subdistrict, South Lampung at STA 3 + 900 and variations of cement used were 0, 4, 8 and 12%. The test carried out is by testing the swelling of soil against CBR which has been marred for 3 days, then based on the results of the test, the calculation of pavement thickness was carried out by the method of analysis of components of SKBI 2.3.26.1987.In testing physical properties, the soil includes the classification of A-6 soil or poorly categorized soil types. However, after adding variations in soil classification cement into a good A-2-4 category. In the CBR swelling test on 0% cement percentage swelling values were 0.62% and CBR 0.9%, in the 4% percentage swelling value 0.27% and CBR 42.6%, at the percentage of 8% swelling value 0.19% and CBR 53.2%, and 12% percentage swelling value 0.06% and CBR 78.1%. From the calculation of the pavement thickness, the greater the CBR value, the thicker the thickness of each layer. Keywords: CBR, Soil Swelling, Pavement Thickness, Stabilization, Cement

Abstract

Rainfall data is one of the data which plays an important role in order to calculate construction project, especially for flood hazard zone nor near the river zone and coastal area. In rainfall data recording sometimes an unwanted thing happened like a rainfall data vacancy in certain area, this is certainly has an impact on the construction’s calculation. On a missing rainfall data, predictions can be made using the method of reciprocal, normal ratio, an algebraic average. The purpose of this sudy is to determine the correlation value from the result of rainfall data predictions by comparing the correlation values of these three methods by using three stations R002,006,R018 in pringsewu regency. This study also aims to determine the fluctuations in the results of these three methods, which methods produces the best correlation and not too fluctuating in order to replace the missing rainfall data. The results of this research that has been done, using the method of reciprocal obtained that standard deviation give the best result among other I 0,22 which is categorized as poor value and the result of correlation average is 0,36 which is categorized as good enough. This result is the best value among the other methods which is calculated using data per years for 34 years. Keywords: algebraic average method, reciprocal method, normal ratio method, missing rainfall data, pearson correlation, standard deviation.

Abstract

Improving the Infrastructure development needs the soil that capable to support the load. It because soil is a material that major the role to support every construction. To identify a good soil is by doing physical and mechanical soil test. Soil compaction is process of increasing the soil density by reducing the particles proximity so it can reduce the air volume. Soil type is influencing to the maximum dry volume weight and optimum water content of that soil. Based on the soil type, compaction is divided into four types. In this research is using two types of compactions that are type A and Type C with purpose to find out the effect of soil particles diameter by passing sieve analysis to soil compaction using standard method.Compaction is done based on blow method and pressure method. In pressure method is using modification compaction tool with 5 Mpa, 10 Mpa, and 15 Mpa pressures. The result of this research is the blow method compaction type A has a higher water content than type C, but the value of maximum dry volume weight Type C higher than type A.  In pressure method it can be concluded that as the higher pressure so the water content and the maximum dry volume weight are also getting higher.Keyword:Soil Particles, Standard Method of Compaction, Blow Method and Pressure Method Compaction
