Abstract

Forgiveness is a complex psychological and spiritual process that is very important in the lives of adolescents who are full of interpersonal dynamics and the search for self-identity. This study aims to understand how religiosity, self-esteem, and empathy contribute to the tendency to forgive in adolescents, and how social support moderates this relationship. In the context of Indonesian culture, religious values are often the foundation for moral decision-making, including in the forgiveness process. High self-esteem allows adolescents to respond to interpersonal conflicts with better emotional regulation, while empathy opens up a space for understanding the motives of others that allows forgiveness to develop. This study uses a qualitative approach with a systematic literature study method, reviewing relevant scientific publications from 2013–2023 from various leading academic databases. The results of the review indicate that the three psychosocial variables—religiosity, self-esteem, and empathy—have a positive relationship with forgiveness, and this effect is strengthened by the presence of social support from family, peers, and teachers. Social support acts as a moderator that strengthens the relationship between variables by creating a sense of security, acceptance, and emotional validation that supports the forgiveness process. These findings emphasize the importance of a holistic approach and community-based interventions in developing character education programs for adolescents. This article provides a strong conceptual basis for educators, counselors, and policy makers to build strategies that support the development of forgiveness capacity among Indonesian adolescents.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to conduct a systematic review of the literature for the last 5 years (2019–2024) related to the use of empathy-based approaches for character education in faith-based organizations. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, consisting of four primary stages: identification, screening, eligibility screening, and synthesis of the final 14 selected studies per the inclusion criteria. The review concludes by identifying four main themes: (1) models and practices of empathy-driven character education; (2) spiritual and affective values’ incorporation; (3) challenges and barriers to implementation; and (4) an empirical understanding of whether empathy contributes to forming holistic religious character. The results suggest that empathy can be enhanced through pedagogical techniques including religious telling, interfaith dialogue, service learning, and spiritual reflection. However, barriers such as lack of teacher training, resistance from the system and inconsistency of values still present major challenges. The study suggests a shift in pedagogic and policy focus to the nurturing of empathy in religious education systems. Its theoretical and practical contributions should further inform thinking about 21st-century character education as more human centred, reflective and situated. Introduction Character education is now perhaps more vital than ever before to schools but its definition and implementation is still open to interpretation and debate

Abstract

This study explores how cultural and religious values shape the career search efficacy of vocational high school students (SMK) in Banda Aceh, Indonesia. Using a qualitative exploratory-descriptive approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions (FGDs) involving students and guidance counselors. The findings reveal that career search efficacy is deeply embedded within Acehnese cultural norms, including Islamic principles, familial decision-making (musyawarah), and informal social interactions such as coffee shop discussions. The analysis identified four key dimensions of culturally influenced career search efficacy: career exploration, interview efficacy, networking efficacy, and personal exploration. These dimensions illustrate that students' career development is not only an individual process but also one that is shaped by community values and spiritual beliefs. However, the contextual nature of the findings and the limited participant scope suggest that further research is needed using mixed methods and broader samples to generalize results. This study contributes to the development of culturally responsive career guidance services and supports the integration of local wisdom into educational practices.

Abstract

The Industrial Era 5.0 has brought significant changes to the fields of education and employment, including the financial and educational sectors, through the utilization of AI and blockchain technologies. This study aims to explore the influence of career adaptability among high school students in terms of gender differences. The research involved 452 students from public senior high schools across Semarang City. Data analysis was conducted using hypothesis testing through the Mann Whitney U Test, preceded by tests of normality and homogeneity using the JASP software. The results indicated that male students demonstrated a higher level of career adaptability compared to female students. This study also highlights the importance of social support and education that is responsive to adolescents' needs, as well as the necessity for inclusive and relevant career education policies in alignment with the demands of Era 5.0. Recommendations for future research include exploring broader social and cultural contexts and examining the impact of technology on career adaptability

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of self-acceptance and gratitude in mediating the influence of social support on subjective well-being. The research sample consisted of 102 mothers of children with special needs aged 1–12 years, selected through purposive sampling. The instruments used included the SWLS (Satisfaction with Life Scale) and PANAS (Positive Affect Negative Affect Schedule) to measure subjective well-being; GQ-6 (Gratitude Questionnaire) to assess gratitude; MSPSS (Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support) to assess social support; and PPAS (Porter Parent Acceptance Scale) to assess self-acceptance. Data were analyzed using path analysis mediation with JASP version 18.3. Scientifically, this research contributes to expanding psychological understanding of internal and external factors that influence parental subjective well-being through positive emotional mechanisms. The findings show that self-acceptance and gratitude significantly mediate the effect of social support on subjective well-being, with a total contribution of 97.4%. Keywords: gratitude, social support, subjective well-being, self-acceptance

Therefore, the aim of this research is to understand the role of local culture in the career decisions of students at SMAN 16 Kuranji Padang. The research method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR), a type of research that involves active participation of participants in the research process, from planning to implementation and evaluation. Data is obtained through direct participation with the research subjects. After obtaining the data, descriptive analysis will be conducted. The research results indicate that the local culture influencing students' career plans includes: the role of parents in supporting students' career plans, learning awareness demonstrated by students' discipline in attending classes on time, communication skills of students with parents and peers, and self-esteem and confidence to plan for a better career.
