Abstract

Recent digital advancements have transformed education, making Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Augmented Reality (AR) essential tools for improving the quality of science learning, as demonstrated through bibliometric analysis. This study investigates the evolution of publication trends, identifies the most productive journals, authors, institutions, and countries, determines the most influential publications based on citation counts, analyzes dominant research themes and keyword patterns, and traces the development of research themes in science education from 2017 to 2026. A total of 67 Scopus-indexed documents were selected through purposive sampling. Publication metadata, including titles, abstracts, keywords, citations, and affiliations, were analyzed in RStudio using the bibliometrix package. The findings indicate a substantial increase in publications, with 66 of the 67 articles (approximately 99%) published after 2020 and a peak in 2025. Citation analysis identified the most influential publications, while keyword analysis revealed dominant themes such as student engagement, adaptive learning, and AI-AR-based digital learning media. This study delineates the intellectual structure of AI and AR research in science education and offers practical recommendations for the development of technology-based adaptive learning models. This study investigates (1) the evolution of publication trends on AR and AI in science education from 2017 to 2026; (2) the most productive journals, authors, institutions, and countries; (3) the most influential publications based on citation analysis; (4) dominant research themes and keyword patterns; and (5) the evolution of research themes over time. This study reviewed 67 documents from the Scopus database covering the period 2017 to 2026 and analyzed them using RStudio. The findings indicate a substantial increase in publications addressing the integration of AI and AR in science education over recent years. The analysis also reveals that existing studies consistently highlight the potential of AI and AR to enhance student engagement and learning effectiveness.

Abstract

Background: The lack of science inquiry literacy among elementary school teachers is a crucial issue affecting the quality of science education. This condition is caused by various factors, including low teacher LIS competency, inadequate facilities, and a lack of learning media that support inquiry learning for students' diverse learning styles. To address this, training is needed that can provide teachers with opportunities to design inquiry learning based on students' learning styles.Aims and Method: This community services program aimed to enhance teachers' Scientific Inquiry Literacy (SIL) through the dissemination of SIDILAN using the Interactive Lecture Demonstration method.Results: The pre-posttest results showed a high average N-Gain (0.76), categorized as High. 13 teachers who were drilled using the SIDILAN application in their lessons experienced an increase in SIL knowledge, categorized as High. Two teachers also experienced an increase in SIL knowledge, categorized as Medium. .  There has been an increase in teachers' knowledge about SIL, student learning styles, the relationship between SIL and learning styles, and scientific inquiry learning designs that facilitate various student learning styles. Teachers reported SIDILAN as user-friendly, effective in identifying student learning styles, useful for instructional planning. and improving inquiry skills so that they could achieve science with good inquiry.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of Artificial Intelligent Independent Learning (AIIL) with physics chatbot of global warming concept. Method of research uses the Research & Development method referring to the ADDIE development model. This research was conducted with 64 students at Senior High School in Indonesia who were divided into chatbot-based experimental groups and control groups. The results of this study were obtained by conducting the normalized gain <g> test of 0.60 (medium category) for the control group and 0.87 (high category) in the experimental group. As for the results of the Cohen's D effect-size test, the result was 0.93 with high category AAIL for increasing learning outcome. Thus, the developed AAIL chatbot has high effectiveness in increasing learning outcome.

Abstract

The research was conducted to analyze the level of students critical thinking skills and and the requirements for implementing PBL using android modules to improve students critical thinking skills in physics. This research method was included in the preliminary research with a sample of 174 students in XI grade MIPA at Gresik State High School. Data collection is done by sharing critical thinking tests with students, conducting questionnaires for students, and conducting teacher interviews. The data is examined both qualitatively and descriptively to explain the research's findings. The results of this research showed that 1) many students still had a low level of critical thinking. Of the 174 students, 119 have low level, 44 have medium level, and 10 have high level. The evaluation indicator has the lowest average value, and the interpretation indicator has the highest average. Student critical thinking skills are higher for females than for males. The conclusion is that the skills to think critically is very important during learning, especially in physics. To improve the critical thinking skills of students, the way that can be done is by applying PBL-assisted android modules.

Abstract

The Potential of Utilizing Water Energy as a Renewable Energy Source is Significant. Water turbines are used to convert water energy into electrical energy. Among various types of turbines, the Savonius water turbine is most suitable for low-flow water conditions in Indonesia. This research aims to develop a horizontal axis Savonius water turbine for low-flow water conditions. The turbine utilizes L-shaped blades and a deflector with a 30-degree inclination to enhance power and torque. The developed turbine has an aluminum frame with dimensions of 66 cm x 38 cm x 40 cm, while the turbine blades are made of acrylic with dimensions of 30 cm x 10 cm. Data collection was performed by varying the water velocity in 10 levels (0.4 m/s to 4 m/s) with 10 repetitions for each velocity level. The research results revealed that the maximum power output occurred at a velocity of 4 m/s, generating 0.38 Watt with a shaft rotation of 258.63 rpm. This study highlights the potential of water energy as a renewable energy Learning media and demonstrates the practical application of Savonius water turbines for environmentally friendly water energy utilization.

Abstract

Data-driven approaches have emerged for several reasons, including the continuous evolution of the education sector. Across various educational fields and levels, STEM integration in learning has been implemented. Therefore, this journal presents data on the role of STEM in Physics Education. The research discussion on the use of STEM in Physics learning can also serve as a coherent background and literature review for readers who wish to conduct further research. The literature review is conducted by considering the bibliometric perspective of publications related to STEM integration in Physics learning. This study supports the journal's importance by highlighting the need for reputable journal publications. The analysis aims to provide a comprehensive bibliography and review of STEM's use in Physics learning, utilizing the "Bibliophagy" function within the "bibliometric" package of R-studio. A total of 880 papers, published between 2014 and 2025, were reviewed. This study provides perspectives, namely a general overview, annual publication numbers, prominent authors, institutions with the highest citations per document, and countries with the highest productivity. This analysis generates journals, highly cited authors, reference networks, and groups with significant contributions to the literature. This journal can be used to improve the understanding of readers or future researchers regarding global research, identify research gaps, and support further research in this field.

Abstract

This study developed B-Science, a STEM-PjBL web-based learning medium designed to improve fifth-grade students’ science literacy on the human digestive system and water cycle. The research employed Research and Development using the Hannafin and Peck model, consisting of need assessment, design, and development–implementation phases. The participants were 31 fifth-grade students at SDN Balimester 06, East Jakarta. Data were collected through expert validation, student response questionnaires, and pretest–posttest science literacy tests. Results showed that material, language, and media validation reached 90.75%, indicating very feasible quality. Student trials also produced highly positive responses above 92%. The effectiveness test showed normal data distribution, a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores, and a high N-gain of 0.76. These findings indicate that B-Science is valid, practical, and effective for strengthening elementary students’ science literacy through interactive visualization and structured project-based learning. It also supports collaborative inquiry and self-paced access via mobile devices and browsers.

Abstract

The Background of study is strengthening Scientific Inquiry Literacy to a critical urgency to equip the younger generation with logical, analytical, and evidence-based thinking skills to face complex challenges in the 21st century. The study objective examines the dissemination of the Interactive Digital Module Physics (IDMP) in improving teachers’ Scientific Inquiry Literacy (SIL) in immersive learning. The of study of method Through a mixed-methods approach with 55 science teachers in Jakarta, Indonesia aged 35-55 years as participants, data were collected through the SIL pretest-posttest and implementation observations. The results showed an adoption rate of 83.3% of the IDMP, with 73.3% of teachers successfully integrating it into their lesson plans. The implementation of the Interactive Digital Module Physics (IDMP) led to a significant improvement in teachers’ scientific inquiry literacy, with N-Gain scores of 25%, 23%, and 22% in designing investigations, guiding inquiry, and evaluating scientific processes, respectively. The implication of study for demonstrate the effectiveness of the IDMP in supporting immersive learning through interactive simulation features. The development of collaborative features such as discussion forums and experimental data banks is recommended to facilitate ongoing practice among teachers.

Abstract

Environmental awareness in elementary school students generally still focuses on cognitive knowledge, without being followed by reflective understanding or real behavior in daily life. This condition highlights a gap in environmental education practices, particularly the lack of integration between affective and behavioral aspects, indicating a need for a learning strategy that fosters a meaningful attitude of environmental care. This study examined the effectiveness of immersive digital storytelling comics developed based on a deep learning approach in enhancing environmental awareness among elementary school students. The method used is quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest design model. The research subjects consisted of 34 grade V students at one of the East Jakarta public elementary schools in the even semester of the 2024/2025 school year. The instrument is in the form of an environmental awareness questionnaire compiled based on indicators of environmental care attitudes, supported by observations and interviews. Data were analyzed descriptively, using paired t-tests, and N-Gain calculations. The results revealed a significant increase in environmental awareness, with the average score increasing from 42.06 (pretest) to 83.09 (posttest), and p<0.001. The N-Gain analysis of 71.40% indicates a high level of improvement. These findings demonstrate that integrating digital storytelling comics with a deep learning pedagogical approach effectively fosters environmental understanding, empathy, and pro-environmental behavior among elementary school students.

Abstract

Science learning in elementary schools plays an essential role in developing students’ conceptual understanding, scientific literacy, and higher-order thinking skills. However, classroom instruction in heterogeneous settings often faces challenges in accommodating students’ diverse readiness, interests, and learning profiles, which may limit optimal learning outcomes. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of Problem-Based Learning integrated with Differentiated Instruction (PBL-DI) in improving elementary school students’ science learning outcomes and creative thinking skills on ecosystem topics. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design. The population of this study consisted of fifth-grade students in an elementary school in Bekasi Regency, Indonesia. The sample involved 42 students selected through a purposive sampling technique, consisting of an experimental group (20 students) that received the PBL-DI model and a control group (22 students) that received the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. Data were collected using science learning achievement tests and creative thinking skills tests administered before and after the intervention. Data analysis was conducted using paired-samples t-test, independent-samples t-test, and normalized gain (N-gain) analysis. The results showed that both groups experienced significant improvements in science learning outcomes and creative thinking skills. However, the PBL-DI group demonstrated consistently higher performance compared to the PBL group. The independent-samples t-test results showed significant differences between the experimental and control groups in science learning outcomes (t(40) = 2.777, p = 0.008) and creative thinking skills (t(40) = 2.396, p = 0.021). Furthermore, the N-gain analysis indicated that the PBL-DI group achieved moderate improvement in science learning outcomes (g = 0.61) and creative thinking skills (g = 0.66), which were higher than those of the PBL group. In conclusion, the integration of Problem-Based Learning and Differentiated Instruction (PBL-DI) is an effective and adaptive instructional approach for elementary science education. This model supports student-centered learning by facilitating meaningful problem-solving activities while accommodating students’ diverse learning needs, thereby enhancing conceptual understanding and creative thinking skills.
