Abstract

ABSTRAK Tanaman Obat Keluarga (TOGA) adalah tanaman yang dihasilkan dari budidaya rumahan yang memiliki khasiat obat. Penggunaan TOGA sangat dipengaruhi oleh pengetahuan masyarakat dan cara penggunaan setiap tanaman obat untuk berbagai penyakit yang berbeda. Pengabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk memberikan sosialisasi pemahaman masyarakat tentang tanaman TOGA. Metode penelitian dalam pengabdian masyarakat ini bersifat deskriptif (sosialisasi melalui youtube dan penyebaran kuisioner melalui google form), dan sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 30 responden. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui google form secara online. Instrument penelitian yang digunakan berbentuk kuesioner. Dari hasil pengabdian masyarakat dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengetahuan remaja milenial beserta masyarakat umum di daerah Tasikmalaya mengenai TOGA dan pemanfaatannya masih kurang sehingga masih perlu dilakukan sosialisasi seperti penyuluhan ataupun mengajak peran lebih aktif lagi masyarakat dalam pemanfaatan TOGA. Keyword: Deskripsi, Pengetahuan, TOGA  ABSTRACT Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) are plants produced from home cultivation that have medicinal properties. The use of TOGA is very much influenced by public knowledge and how to use each medicinal plant for various different diseases. The community service carried out aims to provide socialization for community understanding about the TOGA plant. This research method in community service is descriptive (socialization via YouTube and distribution of questionnaires via google form), and the sample used is 30 respondents. Data collection is done via google form online. The research instrument used was a questionnaire. From the results of community service, it can be concluded that the knowledge of millennial adolescents and the general public in the Tasikmalaya area about TOGA and its use is still lacking so there is still a need for socialization such as counseling or inviting a more active role for the community in using TOGA. Keyword: Description, knowledge, TOGA

Abstract

This research was aimed to isolate and identify the new pigment from the main pigments of Monascus purpureus, which derive from five different isolates and through with solid fermentation used IR-64 rice as substrate. The measurement of pigment was done by extracting t samples using methanol in the 14th day of fermentation process. The absorbance of main pigment was measured by a UV-Visible spectrophotometer at the wavelengths of 364, 365, 375, 400, 480 and 500 nm. The results showed that the absorbance of each pigments isolate varied within ranges from 0.219 to 0.559. Result followed of Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) method with chloroform: acetone (9: 1). TLC results were followed by isolating IPB-B samples using Thin Layer Chromatography- Preparative (TLC-P), whereas the band obtained was identified by using Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrum (LC-MS) instrument. The isolated and identified IPB-B samples showed that there was found a new compound of Molecular Weight (MW), which was Monaphilol A with Molecular Weight (MW) of 384.47.

Abstract

Ingin menjadikan kulit bersih dan sehat terkadang banyak cara dan perlunya melakukan perawatan diri terutama bagian wajah yang menjadikan percaya diri, namun di era saat ini tersebarnya banyak pilihan skincare wajah yang dengan cepat bisa memutihkan wajah yang banyak mengandung bahan kimia berbahaya, maka dari itu Dosen dan Mahasiswa dari Fakultas Farmasi Universitas Bakti Tunas Husada Tasikmalaya mengadakan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dengan memberikan sosialisasi dan edukasi kepada ibu-ibu pengajian rutin PC PERSISTRI mesjid Al-Wutsqo Tawang Kota Tasikmalaya terkait penggunaan skincare alami dari herbal untuk kesehatan wajah. Metode yang digunakan yaitu dengan peyuluhan dan pembagian kuesioner serta memberikan poster tentang tata cara pengolahan bahan herbal dan penggunaan untuk masker wajah. Hasil pengabdian masyarakat ini berjalan lancar dan adanya pemahaman peserta pengabdian terntang penggunaan skincare dari bahan alami.

Abstract

Sistem imun merupakan suatu mekanisme pertahanan tubuh dari serangan zat asing. Antibiotik dan tanaman herbal biasa digunakan masyarakat dalam mengobati suatu penyakit. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk melakukan edukasi dengan metode penyuluhan secara langsung di desa Pusparaja. Tentang penggunaan antibiotik yang rasional dan bijak serta pengenalan tanaman herbal imunomodulator. Pengabdian masyarakat ini merupakan pengabdian masyarakat deskripsi dengan metode pendekatan crossectional, menggunakan instrument kuesioner. Total 33 responden dalam pengandian masyarakat ini adalah masyarakat desa Pusparaja, kecamatan Cigalontang, kabupaten Tasikmalaya. Hasil yang diperoleh dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah peningkatan tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat Desa Pusparaja tentang penggunaan antibiotik yang rasional dan bijak serta pengenalan tanaman herbal imunomodulator. Berdasarkan hasil pengabdian masyarakat ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa edukasi dengan penyuluhan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang penggunaan antibiotik dan tanaman herbal imunomodulator.

Abstract

Klutuk banana fruit and red shoots of guava leave added with salt used by Batra in Jayaratu SingaparnaVillage to treat diarrhea. The green shoots of guava used by the community in treating diarrhea thanklutuk bananas. This study aims to compare the activity of klutuk banana flesh (K) and red shoots ofguava leaves (M) with the addition of salt (G), which Batra commonly uses with green shoots of guavaleaves (H) used by the general public and their combinations to inhibiting Escherichia coli bacteria.This study was conducted in vitro with Simplicia test samples of guava leaf shoots and banana klutukcharacterized. Each sample was crushed, and the extract was taken and tested for antibacterial activity.Data analysis used One Way Analysis of Variant (Anova) and continued with the Least SignificantDifference (LSD) test. The results showed that samples M, H, K, HG, MHG, and MH providedresistance to E. coli ATCC 25922 with a significance value of 0.000 (p<0.05), whereas the HG and Hgroups did not show a significant difference (P >0.05). The red and green shoots of guava leaves, singlyor in combination have potent antibacterial activity. The variety of red shoots and green leaves of guavawith a mixture of salt (MHG) concentration of 100% (1:1:1) had the highest MIC value compared tothe other groups.

Abstract

Apigenin (4`,5,7-trihydroxyflavone) is a flavonoid of subclass flavones that have antidiabetictherapeutic activity but limitations BCS Class II low solubility of 2.16 μg/L. To overcome theselimitations, the development of nanoemulsion formulation technology, increasing solubility increasesdissolution, absorption and bioavailability. It is incorporated into the buccal film for easy applicationand direct access to the systemic circulation. This study aims to obtain apigenin nanoemulsion withthe best characterization and buccal film that meets the characterization. The method was carried outexperimentally in the manufacture of nanoemulsions by spontaneous emulsification, a buccal filmby solvent casting, and the characterization. 10 nanoemulsion formulas met the characterizationwith globule size <20.34nm, polydispersity index <0.131, zeta potential close to 0mV, pH 6.23-6.59, %transmittance close to 100% and best F10 incorporated into buccal film has 29x the solubilitycompared to apigenin with p≤0.05. All buccal films met the characterization with F3 having a 2x fasteronset of release than F1&F2 with 86.07% diffusion and 97.9333 mg/sheet. Thus, it was concludedthat the formulation and characterization of buccal film fulfilled the characterization and F10 apigeninnanoemulsion increased the solubility 29-fold with the buccal film F3 having a faster onset of release.

Abstract

Coronavirus atau virus corona merupakan keluarga besar virus yang menyebabkan infeksi saluran pernapasan atas ringan hingga sedang, seperti penyakit flu. Salah satu peran yang dapat disumbangkan oleh Perguruan Tinggi dalam pencegahan dan penanganan covid-19 adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman masyarakat tentang seluk beluk yang ada hubungan covid-19 dan penangannya melalui pengabdian masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan adalah ceramah/ diskusi, perencanaan partisipatif dan praktek. Dari hasil pengabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan menjukkan bahwa masyarakat sangat bersemangat dan aktif diskusi dalam mengikuti penyuluhan tentang covid-19 dan cara pembuatan hand sanitizer.

Abstract

Abstract Background: Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the world. The therapeutic activity of Monascus sp. pigment can act as an anticardiovascular agent. Research on Monascus sp. pigment is rapidly developing, including the discovery of new pigments, the methods used, and their identification. Currently, there are 57 dyestuff compounds that have been successfully isolated from Monascus molds. So, researchers conducted an in-silico study of Monascus sp.Objective: To determine whether it can have better interactions and activities as an anticardiovascular medicine candidate.Method: PAK1 is used as a receptor for anticardiovascular drugs. 57 test compounds were carried out for ligand preparation and application of Lipinski's rule of five by using MarvinSketch software, ADME prediction and toxicity testing using PreADMET, the docking process using Autodock tools, and visualization using Discovery Studio.Results: The results of the docking analysis are seen from the values of binding affinity consecutively. compound R3 (-8.74 kcal/mol), red shandong (-8.16 kcal/mol), and monaphilol (-8.14 kcal/mol) are lower than the comparison compound bisoprolol (-6.44 kcal/mol), which shows that the three compounds have better interactions than the comparison compounds. Conclusion: Derivative compounds from Monascus sp. Pigment are predicted to have better interactions and can be used as anticardiovascular medicine candidates.Keywords: Monascus sp., pigment, anticardiovascular, in silico, PAK1, ADME, and toxicity

Abstract

Background: Pigment is a dye derived from the mold of Monascus sp which is known to have antiviral activity, hepatitis B is an inflammation of the liver organs caused by the hepatitis B virus. Objective: This study aims to find out whether the five pigments of Monascus sp derivative compounds have the potential to be inhibitors of hepatitis BMethods: The method used in this study is molecular docking, with hepatitis B virus protein samples with the PDB code 5GMZ to be used as docking targets. Results: The results of docking showed that monascin compounds had the best inhibitor activity with energy binding of -7.96 kcal / mol and an inhibition constant of 1.46 uM, the formation of hydrogen and hydropobic bonds.The results of the RMSD chart from MD showed that the Monascin compound was stable at the beginning of the simulation with an average RMSD of 2.1 Å, on the RMSF chart it showed the lowest fluctuation when the compound bound to the amino acid PHE103.Conclusion: Of the five test ligands used, the potential as an inhibitor of hepatitis B is the compound Monascin

Abstract

Kapang Monascus sp. secara tradisional telah digunakan dalam fermentasi beras merah (angkak) yang bermanfaat sebagai pewarna makanan, pengawet makanan maupun obat-obatan. Saat ini, beras angkak telah menjadi suplemen makanan yang terkenal karena banyaknya senyawa bioaktif yang terkandung seperti monakolin, pigmen, asam dimerumat dan lain-lain. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan metabolit sekunder kapang Monascus sp. yang meliputi senyawa monakolin dengan efek antikolesterol, pigmen dengan efek antikanker pada kanker payudara serta memprediksi toksisitas senyawa melalui studi in silico. Senyawa uji terdiri dari 14 senyawa monakolin dan 33 pigmen Monascus sp. Protein HMG KoA (3-hidroksi-3-metilglutaril koenzim A) reduktase digunakan sebagai reseptor antikolesterol sementara estrogen alfa, estrogen beta, dan aromatase digunakan sebagai reseptor antikanker. Perangkat lunak AutoDock digunakan untuk menganalisis kompleks struktural reseptor dengan senyawa uji. Prediksi toksisitas dilakukan menggunakan perangkat lunak ADMET predictor dan QSAR Toolbox. Prediksi toksisitas dan hasil docking menunjukkan bahwa asam monakolin L menunjukkan aktivitas antikolesterol yang baik terhadap HMG KoA reduktase; pigmen monaskin menunjukkan aktivitas antikanker yang selektif terhadap reseptor estrogen beta; dan keduanya diprediksi aman. Prediksi toksisitas senyawa monakolin dan pigmen Monascus sp. menunjukkan terdapat 7 senyawa monakolin yaitu 3-hidroksi-3,5-dihidromonakolin L, asam dihidromonakolin L, monakolin L, asam monakolin J, monakolin J, asam monakolin L , monakolin M, dan 5 pigmen Monascus sp. yaitu ankaflavin, monaskin, monaskopiridin A, monaskopiridin B dan monascuspiloin yang dinyatakan tidak toksik. Tujuh pigmen Monascus sp. yang terdiri dari monankarin A, monankarin B, monankarin C, monankarin D, monankarin E, monankarin F, dan monasfluol A bersifat positif mutagen, karsinogen dan toksik terhadap reproduksi. Hasil penelitian ini berpotensi dapat diaplikasikan untuk desain dan pengembangan obat antikolesterol dan antikanker.In Silico Study of Secondary Metabolites of Monascus sp. as A Candidate for Anticholesterol and Anticancer Drugs. The fungus Monascus sp. has traditionally been used to prepare red fermented rice (angkak) as a natural food colorant, food preservative or medicinal agent. Recently, it has become a popular dietary supplement due to many of its bioactive constituents such as monacolin compounds, pigments, and dimerumic acid, etc. These functional constituents also had been deemed to be provided with various health benefits. This research aims to find secondary metabolites of monacolin compounds with antihypercholesterolemic effect, Monascus sp. pigment with anticancer effect on breast cancer, and predict their toxicity through in silico study. The studied compounds consist of 14 monacolin compounds and 33 Monascus sp. pigments. HMG CoA (3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl Coenzyme A) reductase protein was used as antihypercholesterolemic receptor in which estrogen alfa, estrogen beta, and aromatase were used as anticancer receptors. AutoDock docking software was used to analyze structural complexes of the receptors with studied compounds. Toxicity prediction was done using ADMET predictor and QSAR Toolbox softwares. Toxicity prediction and docking results revealed that monacolin L acid exhibits good anticholesterol activity towards HMG CoA reductase; monascin pigment exhibits selective anticancer activity towards estrogen beta receptor; and both of them were predicted to be safe. Toxicity prediction of studied compounds showed that 7 monacolin compounds which are 3-hydroxy-3,5-dihydromonakolin L, dihydromonacolin L acid, monacolin L, monacolin J acid, monacolin J, monacolin L acid, monacolin M and 5 Monascus sp. pigments which are ankaflavin, monascin, monascopyridine A, monascopyridine B dan monascuspiloin are not toxic. Seven Monascus sp. pigments which are monankarin A, monankarin B, monankarin C, monankarin D, monankarin E, monankarin F and monasfluol A are mutagenic, carcinogenic and also reprotoxic. The research results could be useful for the design and development of the anticholesterol and anticancer drugs.
