Abstract

Monascus purpureus is a filamentous fungus that has long been recognized as one of the main producers of natural pigments. These pigments, including yellow (ankaflavin, monascin), orange (rubropunctatin, monascorubrin), and red (rubropunctamine, monascorubramine), are widely used as natural coloring agents. Compared to synthetic dyes, Monascus pigments are considered safer and possess additional biological activities, making them attractive for applications in the food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic industries. Therefore, accurate identification of the pigments in Monascus purpureus is essential to ensure their safety, functionality, and potential industrial applications. The aim of this research is to determine the results of pigment identification Monascus purpureus using UV-Vis Spectrophotometry, Fourier Transform Infra-Red (FTIR), Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC), Preparative Thin Layer Chromatography (Preparative TLC), and Liquid Chromatography- Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS). The method used is method laboratory experiments. Samples are tested using several instruments. The extraction results show that the % yield value meets the requirements, namely >10%, then the fractionation results show that the water fraction gets more thick extract, the TLC results for the water fraction show a spot height of 4.7 cm with a value of Rf 0.78, the results of Preparative TLC on the water fraction show the presence of a single fluorescent band at wavelengths of 254 nm and 366 nm. The UV-Vis spectrophotometry results were identified at a wavelength of 477 nm with an absorbance of 0.364, then the FTIR results on Preparative TLC scrapings from the water fraction showed the presence of functional groups from the orange pigment structure and the LC-MS results showed that the sample was a compound. Monascorubrin (C23H28O5) with a molecular weight of 384.99 g/mol and compound rubropunctatin (C21H22O5) with a molecular weight of 354.74 g/mol. These results provide information that the sample is an orange pigment from Monascus purpureus with two compounds monascorubrin and rubropunctatin.

Abstract

Abstrak: Kasus DBD di Kabupaten Lebak meningkat tajam dari 764 kasus pada 2023 menjadi 2.158 kasus hingga Juni 2024. Di Desa Curugbadag, Lebak, ditemukan lingkungan yang kurang bersih dan rendahnya pemahaman warga mengenai DBD. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah menawarkan solusi untuk mengatasi permasalahan mitra, yakni memberikan edukasi dan sosialisasi untuk pemberantasan sarang nyamuk DBD secara lebih masif melalui penerapan 3M-Plus dengan aksi nyata bersama warga setempat dan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran dalam jangka panjang dan berkelanjutan. Mitra adalah kader PKK dan pemuda di Desa Curugbadag, Lebak, yang terdiri dari 43 orang. Metode kegiatan meliputi penyuluhan interaktif, simulasi pemberantasan jentik, dan pembagian leaflet. Hasil evaluasi yang dilakukan melalui pre-test dan post-test menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan dari 10,1% meningkat menjadi 95,5%. Program ini berhasil membangun kesadaran kolektif warga dalam pencegahan DBD secara mandiri dan berkelanjutan.Abstract: Dengue cases in Lebak Regency increased sharply from 764 cases in 2023 to 2,158 cases by June 2024. In Curugbadag Village, Lebak, an unclean environment and low understanding of dengue among residents were found. The purpose of this activity is to offer solutions to overcome partner problems, namely providing education and socialization for the eradication of dengue mosquito nests more massively through the implementation of 3M-Plus to partners with real actions together with local residents and increasing knowledge and awareness in the long term and sustainably with the Community Service team from Esa Unggul University Partners are members of the Family Welfare Movement (PKK) and youth in Curugbadag Village, Lebak, consisting of 43 people. The activity methods include interactive counseling, mosquito larvae eradication simulations, and leaflet distribution. The results of the pre-test and post-test evaluations showed an increase in knowledge from 10.1% to 95.5%. This program has succeeded in building collective awareness among residents in preventing dengue independently and sustainably.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penyakit infeksi menular seksual masih menjadi tantangan kesehatan masyarakat, terutama di lingkungan dengan tingkat interaksi sosial yang tinggi. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan kesadaran remaja serta ibu rumah tangga mengenai pencegahan infeksi menular melalui penyuluhan yang interaktif dan berbasis bukti. Metode yang digunakan meliputi penyuluhan langsung, diskusi interaktif, serta evaluasi pretest dan posttest untuk mengukur peningkatan pemahaman. Materi mencakup konsep infeksi menular, faktor risiko, dan langkah pencegahan berbasis perilaku sehat. Mitra terdiri dari 86 remaja putri dan ibu rumah tangga di lingkungan Masjid Abah Djaedi. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta dengan nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,83 masuk kategori tinggi dan persentase peningkatan pemahaman 83,34% yang masuk dalam kategori efektif. Partisipasi aktif peserta mencerminkan kebutuhan penyuluhan lebih lanjut. Program ini diharapkan berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pencegahan infeksi menular secara berkelanjutan.Abstract: Sexually transmitted infections remain a significant public health challenge, particularly in environments with high social interaction. This community engagement program aimed to enhance adolescents' and housewives' knowledge and awareness of infectious disease prevention through interactive and evidence-based education.The methodology included direct counseling, interactive discussions, and pretest and posttest evaluations to assess knowledge improvement. The educational materials covered the concepts of infectious diseases, risk factors, and preventive measures based on healthy behaviors. The partners consist of 86 teenage girls and housewives in the Abah Djaedi Mosque area. Evaluation results demonstrated a significant increase in participants’ understanding, with an N-Gain score of 0.83 (high category) and an 83.34% improvement in knowledge (effective). The participants' active engagement indicated the need for further health education. This program is expected to contribute to sustainable public awareness regarding infectious disease prevention.

Abstract

Abstrak: Demam Berdarah Dengue (DBD) merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan di Indonesia yang disebabkan oleh virus dengue dan ditandai dengan tingginya jumlah nyamuk Aedes aegypti, sehingga mempengaruhi lingkungan dan kemampuan masyarakat dalam mengendalikan penularan DBD di suatu wilayah. Tujuan penyuluhan ini adalah peningkatan pengetahuan dan kesadaran masyarakat dalam mencegah penularan DBD. Proses penyuluhan mencakup persiapan, instruksi edukasi DBD, pengenalan aplikasi android RESIX, pemasangan paket tempat sampah, penyerahan alat kebersihan, diskusi dan evaluasi kegiatan melalui kuisioner pretest dan postest yang terdiri dari lima soal pada 110 ibu-ibu di PC Persistri Kota Tasikmalaya. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan pengetahuan tentang DBD meningkat secara signifikan, dengan peningkatan skor sebesar 24.43%.Abstract: Blood dengue fever is a health problem in Indonesia that is part of a type of infectious disease caused by the dengue virus and is transmitted through aegypti mosquito bite characterized by high heat.Environmental factors as well as the role of society in the efforts to prevent the occurrence of DBD disease are closely related to the occurrence of DBD in a region.The purpose of this dissemination is to increase public knowledge and awareness in preventing the transmission of DBD.Preparation methods include preparation, DBD education, Introduction to Android Resix, Installation of garbage packages, submission of hygiene equipment as well as discussion and evaluation of activities through a pretest and postest query of up to 5 questions on 110 persistry PC mothers.The evaluation results showed a significant increase in knowledge of DBD with an increase in score by 24.43%.

Abstract

Abstrak: Masalah Kesehatan mental pada remaja semakin meningkat akibat tekanan sosial, akademik, dan kurangnya pemahaman tentang menjaga kesehatan psikologis. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan pemahaman remaja mengenai kesehatan mental melalui metode edukasi interaktif berbasis quiz. Sasaran kegiatan adalah warga Kelurahan Cibodas Kota Tangerang , dengan total peserta sebanyak 50 orang. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi penyuluhan singkat mengenai kesehatan mental, penyampaian materi dengan media audio visual, serta sesi quiz interaktif untuk memperkuat pemahaman peseta. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pretest dan posttest guna mengukur peningkatan pengatahuan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukan adanya peningkatan pemahaman peserta dari 58,3% menjadi 92,6% yang berkaiatan mengenai tanda-tanda gangguan mental, cara menjaga keseimbangan emosi, serta pentingnya dukungan sosial. Kegiatan ini terbukti efektif untuk menumbuhkan kesadaran dan kepedulian remaja terhadap kesehatan mental melalui pendekatan edukatif yang menyenangkan dan partisipatif.Abstract: Mental health issues among adolescents are increasing due to social pressure, academic demands, and a lack of understanding of psychological well-being. This community service program aimed to enhance mental health awareness among adolescents through interactive quiz-based education. The program was conducted in Cibodas Village, Tangerang, involving 50 participants. The implementation included a brief counselling session on mental health, the delivery of educational materials using visual media, and interactive quizzes to reinforce understanding. Evaluation was carried out through pre-test and post-test assessments to measure knowledge improvement. The results showed increase percentage from 58,3% to 92,6% in participants’ understanding of mental health indicators, emotional balance, and the importance of social support. This activity proved effective in raising awareness and fostering positive attitudes toward mental health among adolescents through an engaging and participatory learning approach.

Abstract

Biaya substrat karbon merupakan komponen terbesar dalam produksi asam sitrat industri, sehingga diperlukan sumber alternatif yang ekonomis. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi potensi limbah daging buah mangga (Mangifera indica L.) sebagai substrat alternatif bagi Aspergillus niger ATCC 16404. Fermentasi dilakukan melalui metode fermentasi media cair terendam (submerged fermentation) selama 108 jam menggunakan vertical shaker 150 rpm dengan variasi konsentrasi limbah (A: 0%, B: 25%, dan C: 50%). Parameter yang diukur meliputi kinetika pertumbuhan sel, konsumsi gula pereduksi, dinamika pH, dan kadar asam sitrat yang divalidasi dengan uji statistik ANOVA satu arah dan DMRT (α = 0,05). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan konsentrasi limbah mangga meningkatkan akumulasi produk secara sangat signifikan (F = 21,93; p < 0,001). Variasi konsentrasi terbaik ditemukan pada perlakuan C (50%) yang menghasilkan rata-rata kadar asam sitrat sebesar 1,66 ± 0,78 mg/L dengan kadar puncak mencapai 3,08 mg/L pada waktu fermentasi jam ke-108. Penurunan pH hingga mencapai 3,0 pada variasi C mengonfirmasi efisiensi sekresi asam organik yang lebih tinggi. Kesimpulan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi limbah mangga 50% merupakan dosis optimal untuk biokonversi asam sitrat.

Abstract

Abstrak: Tuberkulosis (TBC) masih menjadi masalah kesehatan masyarakat akibat rendahnya pemahaman tentang patofisiologi penyakit, cara penularan, dan manifestasi klinis. Kondisi ini berpotensi meningkatkan keterlambatan deteksi dan pengobatan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini diarahkan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman serta kepedulian masyarakat mengenai TBC melalui pendekatan edukasi kesehatan berbasis praktik farmasi sosial. Metode yang digunakan berupa penyuluhan dan sosialisasi kepada 65 orang mitra yang terdiri dari kader PKK dan warga Kecamatan Panongan, Kabupaten Tangerang. Evaluasi dilakukan menggunakan pretest sebelum kegiatan dan posttest setelah kegiatan, yang terdiri dari 10 pertanyaan. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi, dapat dilihat adanya peningkatan pengetahuan yang signifikan, dilihat dari kenaikan nilai pretest 38,9 menjadi 95,4 pada posttest. Peningkatan ini mencerminkan perbaikan hardskill berupa pemahaman patofisiologi, mekanisme penularan, dan manifestasi klinis TBC, serta softskill dalam peran kader sebagai agen edukasi kesehatan di masyarakat. Kegiatan ini efektif mendukung upaya promotif dan preventif pengendalian TBC berbasis masyarakat.Abstract: Tuberculosis (TB) remains a public health problem due to limited community understanding of its pathophysiology, transmission, and clinical manifestations, which may lead to delayed detection and treatment. This initiative was designed to strengthen knowledge and awareness among the target group about TB through health education based on social pharmacy practice. The activity was conducted using counseling and socialization methods involving 65 participants consisting of PKK cadres and residents of Panongan District, Tangerang Regency. Evaluation was conducted using was carried out through pretest administered before the activity and a posttest after the activity, each consisting of 10 questions. assessments. The results showed a substantial improvement in participants’ knowledge, with the average score increasing from 38.9 in the pretest to 95.4 in the posttest. This improvement indicates enhanced hard skills related to understanding TB pathophysiology, transmission, and clinical symptoms, as well as improved soft skills in community health education roles. The program proved effective in supporting community-based promotive and preventive efforts for TB control.

Abstract

Perkembangan layanan perbankan digital meningkatkan risiko kejahatan siber yang dapat menimbulkan kerugian bagi nasabah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaturan hukum serta perlindungan hukum terhadap kerugian nasabah akibat kejahatan siber dalam layanan perbankan digital. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian hukum normatif dengan pendekatan perundang-undangan dan konseptual. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlindungan hukum bagi nasabah telah diatur melalui mekanisme preventif dan represif. Pembebanan tanggung jawab atas kerugian ditentukan berdasarkan sumber terjadinya kerugian, yang dapat dibebankan kepada pihak penyelenggara layanan perbankan apabila disebabkan oleh kelemahan sistem, atau secara proporsional apabila terdapat kontribusi kelalaian nasabah. Meskipun secara normatif regulasi telah memadai, implementasinya masih belum optimal dalam memberikan perlindungan yang efektif bagi nasabah.

Abstract

Kapang Monascus sp. secara tradisional telah digunakan dalam fermentasi beras merah (angkak) yang bermanfaat sebagai pewarna makanan, pengawet makanan maupun obat-obatan. Saat ini, beras angkak telah menjadi suplemen makanan yang terkenal karena banyaknya senyawa bioaktif yang terkandung seperti monakolin, pigmen, asam dimerumat dan lain-lain. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan metabolit sekunder kapang Monascus sp. yang meliputi senyawa monakolin dengan efek antikolesterol, pigmen dengan efek antikanker pada kanker payudara serta memprediksi toksisitas senyawa melalui studi in silico. Senyawa uji terdiri dari 14 senyawa monakolin dan 33 pigmen Monascus sp. Protein HMG KoA (3-hidroksi-3-metilglutaril koenzim A) reduktase digunakan sebagai reseptor antikolesterol sementara estrogen alfa, estrogen beta, dan aromatase digunakan sebagai reseptor antikanker. Perangkat lunak AutoDock digunakan untuk menganalisis kompleks struktural reseptor dengan senyawa uji. Prediksi toksisitas dilakukan menggunakan perangkat lunak ADMET predictor dan QSAR Toolbox. Prediksi toksisitas dan hasil docking menunjukkan bahwa asam monakolin L menunjukkan aktivitas antikolesterol yang baik terhadap HMG KoA reduktase; pigmen monaskin menunjukkan aktivitas antikanker yang selektif terhadap reseptor estrogen beta; dan keduanya diprediksi aman. Prediksi toksisitas senyawa monakolin dan pigmen Monascus sp. menunjukkan terdapat 7 senyawa monakolin yaitu 3-hidroksi-3,5-dihidromonakolin L, asam dihidromonakolin L, monakolin L, asam monakolin J, monakolin J, asam monakolin L , monakolin M, dan 5 pigmen Monascus sp. yaitu ankaflavin, monaskin, monaskopiridin A, monaskopiridin B dan monascuspiloin yang dinyatakan tidak toksik. Tujuh pigmen Monascus sp. yang terdiri dari monankarin A, monankarin B, monankarin C, monankarin D, monankarin E, monankarin F, dan monasfluol A bersifat positif mutagen, karsinogen dan toksik terhadap reproduksi. Hasil penelitian ini berpotensi dapat diaplikasikan untuk desain dan pengembangan obat antikolesterol dan antikanker.In Silico Study of Secondary Metabolites of Monascus sp. as A Candidate for Anticholesterol and Anticancer Drugs. The fungus Monascus sp. has traditionally been used to prepare red fermented rice (angkak) as a natural food colorant, food preservative or medicinal agent. Recently, it has become a popular dietary supplement due to many of its bioactive constituents such as monacolin compounds, pigments, and dimerumic acid, etc. These functional constituents also had been deemed to be provided with various health benefits. This research aims to find secondary metabolites of monacolin compounds with antihypercholesterolemic effect, Monascus sp. pigment with anticancer effect on breast cancer, and predict their toxicity through in silico study. The studied compounds consist of 14 monacolin compounds and 33 Monascus sp. pigments. HMG CoA (3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl Coenzyme A) reductase protein was used as antihypercholesterolemic receptor in which estrogen alfa, estrogen beta, and aromatase were used as anticancer receptors. AutoDock docking software was used to analyze structural complexes of the receptors with studied compounds. Toxicity prediction was done using ADMET predictor and QSAR Toolbox softwares. Toxicity prediction and docking results revealed that monacolin L acid exhibits good anticholesterol activity towards HMG CoA reductase; monascin pigment exhibits selective anticancer activity towards estrogen beta receptor; and both of them were predicted to be safe. Toxicity prediction of studied compounds showed that 7 monacolin compounds which are 3-hydroxy-3,5-dihydromonakolin L, dihydromonacolin L acid, monacolin L, monacolin J acid, monacolin J, monacolin L acid, monacolin M and 5 Monascus sp. pigments which are ankaflavin, monascin, monascopyridine A, monascopyridine B dan monascuspiloin are not toxic. Seven Monascus sp. pigments which are monankarin A, monankarin B, monankarin C, monankarin D, monankarin E, monankarin F and monasfluol A are mutagenic, carcinogenic and also reprotoxic. The research results could be useful for the design and development of the anticholesterol and anticancer drugs.
