Abstract

This research was conducted on the basis of the importance of students having mathematical understanding at the elementary school level to improve higher mathematical abilities. Realistic Mathematics Approach (PMR) is one option that can be used to improve students' mathematical understanding in online learning. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with a pre-experiment one group pretest-posttest design. The research population is all fifth grade elementary school students in Jatinunggal District, Sumedang Regency. Meanwhile, the research sample is SDN Cisambeng. The instruments used in this research are mathematical understanding test questions, student response questionnaires, teacher and student performance observation sheets and interviews with four samples of parents. Based on the results of learning during three meetings, it shows that: 1) Realistic Mathematics Approach (PMR) has a significant positive influence on students' mathematical understanding of online learning through whatsapp groups. The magnitude of the change (gain) in the results of the pretest and posttest was 0.49 with a moderate interpretation; 2) The implementation of learning with PMR in online learning is going well even though there are some obstacles faced. The biggest obstacles in learning activities are students who do not master the basic skills of multiplication and division as well as unstable network problems. The lack of independence in student learning causes online learning to still have to be accompanied by parents and be guided directly.

Abstract

Salah satu tujuan pembelajaran matematika adalah siswa mempunyai kemampuan memahami konsep matematika. Dalam pembelajaran matematika siswa bukan sekedar menghafal rumus, siswa harus memiliki kemampuan pemahaman yang baik terhadap suatu materi/konsep matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesulitan belajar pemahaman matematis yang dialami oleh siswa pada materi sifat dan luas bangun datar. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV SDN Parungjaya II di Kecamatan Leuwimunding, Kabupaten Majalengka. Metode yang digunakan yaitu penelitian deskriptif, dengan desain survey. Pengumpulan data penelitian diambil dari tes diagnostik siswa. Analisis data menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan matematis siswa masih rendah (16,6%) serta siswa mengalami kesulitan menggunakan konsep, kesulitan menggunakan prinsip serta kesulitan dalam proses perhitungan aritmatika. Kesulitan yang paling tinggi dialami oleh siswa adalah kesulitan menggunakan prinsip, hal ini disebabkan siswa belum memahami secara penuh prinsip-prinsip matematika pada materi sifat dan luas bangun datar.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the increase in mathematical understanding and mahematical  disposition of students who study with the Realistics Mathematics Education (RME) approach with Squarec Smart, compare it to conventional learning, and knowing the relationship between mathematical understanding and disposition. This research used quasi-experimental method with nonequivalent control group design. The population is all class IV in Sumedang Selatan Subdistrict with samples of class IVA (experiment) and IVB (control) in SDN Sukaraja I. The results of this research show that learning with the RME approach assisted by Squarec Smart and convensional learning both increase mathematical understanding and disposition. However, the RME with Squarec Smart significantly improved mathematical understanding and mathematical disposition compared to the conventional approach. In addition, the result show that there is no correlation between mathematical understanding and mathematical disposition.

Abstract

This research is conducted on the basis that ethnomathematics is a bridge between mathematics and culture, and the ethnomathematics approach is one way to bridge the gap between that. Ethnomathematics has begun to be integrated in the curriculum 2013 and has an important to improving the quality of mathematics learning. This research is a qualitative by using descriptive methods and document analysis design. The research object is the mathematics student book and 18 grade IV students as research subjects. The research instruments used assessment document sheets, teacher and student activities observation sheets, student response questionnaires, and teacher response interview sheets. The results of this research indicate that mathematics student book curriculum 2013 revised 2018 for class IV can be implemented with an ethnomathematics approach, and the application of the ethnomathematics approach is one of solution to innovate and creative creating to a meaningful form of mathematics learning.

Abstract

Mathematics is still one of the subjects feared by elementary school students. This can affect the effectiveness of learning. Therefore, there needs to be innovation in mathematical learning. On the other hand, high school teachers are required to create or develop innovation, especially in learning. Thus, the purpose of this research is to know the efforts made by elementary school teachers who excel in developing mathematical learning innovations. The methods used in this study are qualitative descriptive. The subjects of this study were five outstanding elementary teachers from Sumedang Regency and one outstanding elementary teacher from Garut Regency. The instruments used in this study are in the form of interview guidelines, documentation studies, and questionnaires. The results showed that the innovation developed by elementary teachers excelled in developing mathematical learning innovations in the form of media and learning strategies. In addition, there are efforts to utilize technology as a support for the learning process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya sejumlah hambatan belajar pemahaman matematis pada materi keliling dan luas bangun datar. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui hambatan belajar yang dialami oleh siswa, mengembangkan desain didaktis berdasarkan pembelajaran berbasis masalah untuk  mengatasi hambatan belajar pemahaman matematis pada materi keliling dan luas bangun datar, mengetahui kelayakan desain didaktis menurut guru, dan mengetahui keterbacaan desain didaktis menurut siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan DDR (Didactical Design Research) sebagai desainnya. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes, wawancara, angket, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa mengalami tujuh tipe hambatan belajar yang terbagi dalam hambatan belajar epistemologis dan ontogenis. Dengan begitu, disusunlah desain didaktis berdasarkan pembelajaran berbasis masalah untuk mengatasi hambatan belajar pemahaman matematis pada materi keliling dan luas bangun datar, berdasarkan tanggapan guru, desain didaktis layak untuk digunakan, dan berdasarkan tes keterbacaan siswa, desain didaktis pada pertemuan kedua perlu adanya perbaikan.

Abstract

The low ability of problem solving of contextual questions is the background of this research. The purpose of this study is to find out problem solving ability in KPK and FPB. This study uses diagnostic tests, interviews, field notes and documentation. The results of the study are 1) understanding problem is the highest problem-solving ability, 2) the lowest problem-solving abilities is to interpret solutions. 3) The ability of problem solving in contextual problems is consired quite low, because the average is 42. 4)The difficulties in problems solving that are difficult to find keywords, known and asked of problems, difficulties to represent to the mathematical sentence, difficulties to develop the right solution strategy, difficulties to interpret the solutions. 5) Factors that causes of difficulties in problem solving are concept knowledge, procedural knowledge, interest in learning. teaching methods and the curriculum was used.Kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah pada soal kontekstual yang masih kurang merupakan hal yang melatarbelakangi penelitian ini. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa pada soal kontekstual materi KPK dan FPB. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu tes diagnostik, wawancara, catatan lapangan dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan menggunakan metode triangulasi data. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa 1) kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang paling tinggi yaitu kemampuan memahami masalah, 2) kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang paling rendah yaitu kemampuan menafsirkan solusi, 3) Kemampuan siswa dalam pemecahan masalah dikatakannmasihhkurang, karena rata-rata nilai yaitu 42, 4) kesulitan yang dihadapi dalam memecahkan masalah yaitu sulit menemukan kata kunci, belum terbiasa menuliskan hal yang diketahui dan ditanyakan, belum mampu merepresentasikan ke dalam kalimat matematika, belum mampu menyusun strategi penyelesaian yang tepat, belum mampu menafsirkan solusi, 5) faktor yang menyebabkan kesulitan dalam memecahkan masalah yaitu pengetahuan konsep, pengetahuan prosedural, serta minat belajar, metode pengajaran serta kurikulum  yang digunakan.

Abstract

This study is based on the mathematical communication ability and mathematical dispositions of students which are still deemed insufficient. One innovation in mathematics learning that can help improve mathematical communication skills and mathematical dispositions mastery is a realistic mathematics education approach with a group investigation strategy that focuses on students’ involvement actively and it is associated with daily life in the overall learning activities. The sample in the study was the fifth-grade student of SDN 2 Ciwaru and SDN 1 Sumberjaya in Ciwaru Sub-District, Kuningan Regency. The results showed that a realistic mathematics education approach with group investigation and conventional learning strategies gave a significant effect on students' mathematical communication ability and mathematical dispositions, there were significant differences between realistic mathematics education approaches with a group investigation strategies and conventional learning in improving students' mathematical communication skills and mathematical dispositions, and there is no significant relationship between students' mathematical communication skills and mathematical dispositions using the realistic mathematics education approach with a group investigation strategy.

Abstract

Innovation learning by using MURRDERR strategy assisted by android-based so that becomes a solution to improve reflective thingking skills and students motivation learning in elementary school. This research used quasi-experimental method, with nonequivalent control grup design. The population is all class of V grade in Sumedang Selatan Subdistrict, with sample of grade V-A SDN Sukaraja 1 (grup class of experiment) and V-B SDN Sukaraja 1 (grup calss of control). Counclusions from this research are : 1) MURRDERR strategy assisted by android-based media is significantly better at improving reflective thinking skills than conventional learning. 2) MURRDERR strategy assisted by android-based media, and conventional learning can improve student motivation learning most increases significantly. 3) There is a positive relationship between the ability of reflective thinking skills with student motivation.

Abstract

Mathematical understanding ability is directly proportional with learning motivation. If students can understand the topics, it is possible that students have good learning motivation. Explorative approach can be used as a learning tool that can improve mathematical understanding ability and learning motivation. Explorative approach training the students to explore their knowledge in depth through five stages of learning. This research have purpose to determine the effect of explorative approach and conventional approach on mathematical understanding ability and learning motivation and to determine the relation between mathematical understanding ability and learning motivation. The quasi-experimental method was used in this research with nonequivalent control group design. The sample is the VA class and VB class in SDN 1 Jadimulya. The conclusion obtained is positive influence after using the explorative approach and conventional approach that appear from the improvement of indicators of mathematical understanding abilities and learning motivation and there is a positive correlation between mathematical understanding ability and learning motivation in the medium category.
