Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh belum meratanya kemampuan siswa dalam membaca dan memahami karya fiksi, khususnya dalam mengidentifikasi unsur-unsur intrinsik cerita. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca karya fiksi melalui penerapan aplikasi Wordwall pada siswa kelas VIII-E UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Utara. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri atas empat tahapan, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 30 siswa, yang terdiri atas 13 siswa laki-laki dan 17 siswa perempuan. Instrumen penelitian meliputi lembar observasi aktivitas peneliti dan siswa, tes kemampuan membaca karya fiksi, catatan lapangan, serta dokumentasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan aplikasi Wordwall dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca karya fiksi siswa. Pada siklus I, nilai rata-rata siswa mencapai 64,66 dengan ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 43%. Setelah dilakukan perbaikan pembelajaran pada siklus II, nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat menjadi 82,70 dengan ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 83%. Dengan demikian, terjadi peningkatan nilai rata-rata sebesar 18,04 poin dan peningkatan ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 40%. Selain meningkatkan hasil belajar, penggunaan aplikasi Wordwall juga mendorong siswa menjadi lebih aktif, tertarik, dan terlibat dalam kegiatan membaca serta menganalisis unsur intrinsik karya fiksi. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan aplikasi Wordwall efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca karya fiksi siswa kelas VIII-E UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Utara.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in the Indonesian Language subject, which were caused by teacher-centered learning, low student participation, and the suboptimal use of instructional media. This study aimed to determine the effect of Puzzle media on the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students in the Indonesian Language subject at SD Negeri 071162 Esiwa. This research employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental method with a One-Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The population as well as the sample consisted of 25 fifth-grade students selected using the saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through pretest and posttest instruments that had been tested for validity and reliability. The data were analyzed using the normality test, N-Gain test, and hypothesis testing with the assistance of SPSS version 26. The results showed that the data were normally distributed, the average student learning outcomes increased after the implementation of Puzzle media, and the N-Gain score was 66.85, which falls into the moderate category, indicating an improvement in students' learning outcomes. Furthermore, the hypothesis testing revealed a calculated t-value of 18.097 with a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating that the alternative hypothesis was accepted while the null hypothesis was rejected. Therefore, it can be concluded that Puzzle media has a positive and significant effect on the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students in the Indonesian Language subject at SD Negeri 071162 Esiwa.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the intrinsic and extrinsic elements contained in the lyrics of the Nias traditional song Tanö Niha Omasi’ö. Traditional songs, as a form of oral literature, play an important role in reflecting cultural identity, social values, and the worldview of the supporting community. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with the song lyrics as the main object of study. Data were collected through reading, note-taking, and classifying lyric segments related to intrinsic and extrinsic elements. The findings reveal that the intrinsic elements include the theme of love for the homeland, messages about preserving unity and tradition, poetic diction in the Nias language, metaphorical language style, an atmosphere of pride and emotional attachment, visual imagery, the setting of Nias land, and a collective point of view representing the community. Meanwhile, the extrinsic elements encompass the cultural and social background of the Nias people, who highly value tradition, solidarity, and kinship, as well as the geographical condition of Nias as an archipelagic region influencing their perspective on land as a source of life. Therefore, the song Tanö Niha Omasi’ö serves not only as entertainment but also as a medium for cultural transmission and the reinforcement of Nias cultural identity.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe the character values contained in Nias folktales found in the book by Sadieli Telaumbanua, 2018 edition. The study employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. The data source consisted of Nias folktale texts contained in the book. Data were collected through documentation study and analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that the Nias folktales contain various character values, including religiosity, honesty, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creativity, independence, democracy, curiosity, national spirit, patriotism, appreciation of achievement, friendliness or communicative attitude, peace-loving attitude, reading interest, environmental care, social care, and responsibility. Among these values, hard work and responsibility were the most dominant. The findings indicate that Nias folktales serve not only as a form of entertainment but also as a medium for character education containing moral and cultural values that are important to be passed on to younger generations. Therefore, Nias folktales can be utilized as a source of local wisdom-based character education in educational settings.
