Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi pandangan orang tua sedulur sikep dalam hal bilingualisme bahasa anak usia dini dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode penelitian studi kasus. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara dengan tiga orang tua sedulur sikep yang memiliki anak usia dini. Meskipun orang tua sedulur sikep ini cenderung kaku terhadap segala bentuk modernisasi, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa orang tua sedulur sikep cukup terbuka apabila hanya bentuk penguasaan dari satu bahasa terlebih bilingualisme pada anak usia dini. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa orang tua sedulur sikep memberikan pandangan positif  terhadap bilingualisme bahasa anak usia dini dengan batasan yang sewajarnya saja. Penelitian lanjutan disarankan untuk menggali dampak jangka panjang pada perkembangan kognitif anak usia dini di kalangan sedulur sikep maupun komunitas tradisional lainnya. Implikasi dari hasil penelitian ini dapat dijadikan dasar rancangan untuk mmebuat program pendidikan bahasa yang mendukung akan keberlanjutan bahasa jawa bagi kalangan sedulur sikep. Penelitian selanjutnya dapat meninjau tentang dampak jangka panjang dari bilingualisme di kalangan masyarakat tradisional.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze parents' and teachers' perceptions of the readiness of early childhood education (ECE) schools during the transition period from ECE to elementary school (ES). The approach is descriptive and quantitative, with correlation analysis. The research population consists of parents of ECE and first-grade elementary school students, as well as ECE and first-grade elementary school teachers in Bandung City, West Java. Data were collected from 364 parents and 112 teachers. The research instrument is a Likert-scale questionnaire (1-5) covering aspects of child readiness, parent readiness, teacher roles, home routines, and school communication. Data analysis includes frequency distributions, percentages, means, standard deviations, distribution patterns, and skewness. The analysis results show an average (M) parent perception of 4.0 with a standard deviation of 0.87, and an average teacher perception of 4.31 with a standard deviation of 0.61. There are significant relationships of 0.81 between child readiness and parent readiness, and of 0.74 between parent readiness and perceptions of teacher roles. These findings emphasize the importance of collaboration between parents and schools in supporting children's school readiness.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penerapan Universal Design for Learning (UDL) dalam pendidikan anak usia dini (PAUD) melalui pendekatan Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dengan kerangka PRISMA. UDL merupakan pendekatan inklusif yang dirancang untuk mengakomodasi keberagaman peserta didik melalui desain kurikulum yang fleksibel, adaptif, dan dapat diakses oleh semua anak. Analisis dilakukan terhadap 13 sumber literatur terakreditasi yang relevan dengan topik UDL dan keberagaman pada anak usia dini. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa UDL berkembang sebagai respons terhadap kebutuhan akan pendidikan yang adil dan inklusif sejak dini. Strategi implementasi UDL di PAUD mencakup desain pembelajaran fleksibel, pengenalan gaya belajar anak, serta penguatan kapasitas guru. Penerapan UDL terbukti meningkatkan aksesibilitas, partisipasi, dan motivasi belajar anak, termasuk bagi mereka yang memiliki kebutuhan khusus. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa UDL berkontribusi pada pembelajaran yang berpihak pada anak dan menghargai keberagaman. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi teoritis dan praktis untuk mendukung perancangan lingkungan belajar yang inklusif di jenjang PAUD.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of congklak as a learning medium for the cognitive development of children aged 5-6 years. Using a quantitative method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest pre-experimental design, the study involved eleven children at the Kota Ilmu Plus Kindergarten. The intervention was carried out for three weeks with a frequency of once per week, a duration of 30-45 minutes per session. Data were collected through structured observations measuring the ability to count, problem solving, logical thinking, focus, and memory. The results showed a decrease in the average score from 20.82 (Developing According to Expectations) in the pre-test to 15.82 (Starting to Develop) in the post-test, with an increase in variance from 11.76 to 84.76. A paired sample t-test showed a significant difference (t=2.355; p=0.040<0.05). The analysis identified internal factors (cognitive maturity, emotional state, motivation, learning style, concentration, physical condition, previous experience) and external factors (student grouping, time management, lesson planning, teacher competence) that influence learning outcomes. The study concluded that the effectiveness of the congklak game is highly dependent on the suitability of the application to the individual characteristics of the child and requires attention to supporting learning factors. A differentiated approach that considers the child's cognitive-emotional readiness, adequate time allocation, and responsive teaching strategies to individual needs is needed.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to explore preschool teachers’ perspectives on the pedagogical integration of coding in early childhood classrooms. As coding is increasingly introduced as part of early digital literacy, understanding teachers’ perspectives is essential for designing developmentally appropriate and context-sensitive practices in Indonesian early childhood education.Design/methods/approach – This study employed A qualitative descriptive design to capture teachers’ experiences, interpretations, and classroom considerations regarding coding integration. Five ECE (Early Childhood Education) teachers were selected through purposive sampling based on teaching experience, exposure to digital learning activities, and willingness to participate. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis through transcription, open coding, categorization, and theme development. Trustworthiness was strengthened through member checking, repeated reading of transcripts, and analytic memoing.Findings – The analysis generated eight interrelated themes. Three core findings emerged. First, teachers showed conceptual ambiguity in defining coding, indicating that coding is still understood unevenly in ECE settings. Second, teachers experienced pedagogical tension between digital learning demands and principles of child development, which led to a strong preference for unplugged and play-based coding activities. Third, structural constraints, including limited facilities, insufficient training, and the absence of clear curriculum guidance, restricted consistent implementation. Despite these constraints, teachers recognized coding as potentially beneficial for children’s logical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration.Research implications/limitations – This study contributes empirical insight from a developing-country context in which coding in early childhood education remains underexplored. However, The small number of participants and the interview-based design limit broader transferability. Further studies involving more diverse settings, classroom observations, and comparative contexts are needed.Practical implications – The findings underline the need for sustained teacher professional development, accessible teaching resources, and contextual curriculum guidance for play-based coding integration. In low-resource contexts, unplugged coding can function as a realistic pedagogical entry point before the gradual use of digital tools.Originality/value – This study contributes to the discourse on early childhood coding education by foregrounding teachers’ perspectives in the Indonesian ECE context. It positions coding not merely as a technological innovation, but as a pedagogical practice negotiated through developmental considerations and structural limitations.Paper type Research paper
