Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the determinants of happiness for working women in Indonesia. Using the cross-sectional data of Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS) wave 5, a number of 3,368 observations were selected using logistic model. This model was chosen because the dependent variables are categorical, and the normal assumption is in error distribution. This study finds that wage is still relevant to be used  as a measure for welfare in Indonesia due to the absence of Easterlin Paradox in Indonesia. Higher wages enable the public to have more freedom in fulfilling their consumptive needs. Furthermore, non-economic factors such as education, age, and marital status influence the happiness of working women, while residence is not influential. Furthermore, “double burden” borne by married working women does not reduce their happiness because marriage helps them in financial security from difficult economic conditions, in addition to economic factors and specialization in their family that can increase income.

The place and time of this research are households in Tanggulturus Village, Tulungagung Regency in 2017. The analytical method used is multiple linear regression. The results showed that the variables of education level and length of work had a positive and significant effect on the number of remittances sent. While the gender variable has an effect but not significant. In the priority use of household consumption, migrants use (1) basic needs, (2) house renovation, (3) buying furniture, (4) buying vehicles, and finally (5) paying debts. Meanwhile, the priority of using migrant household investment is (1) saving, (2 and 3) buying land, (4) opening a business and lastly (5) buying livestock. This study uses a quantitative method with a type of data that is Panel Data. Panel data is a combination of cross-sectional data covering 27 regencies and cities in West Java Province and a time series for five years from 2017 to 2021. Model analysis uses panel data regression, and the results found that the best approach model is the Fixed Effect ModeI approach (FEM) using the Eviews 12 platform. Data collection was carried out by documenting data at the West Java Central Statistics Agency (BPS), West Java OpenData, and other government-owned official data portals. Based on the results of the simultaneous tests that have been carried out, variable employment, education level, government spending, and regional minimum wages have an influence on the unemployment rate.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the contribution of the rubber commodity sector to the economic growth of Banyuasin Regency from 2016 to 2021, along with the specialization level of this sector. The study employs a quantitative research method designed to illustrate correlations with appropriate reliability and priority levels. Analytical methods utilized include Location Quotient (LQ) and Shift-share (SS). Secondary data for the research are sourced from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Banyuasin Regency and South Sumatra Province. The findings reveal that, among the 21 sub-districts in Banyuasin Regency, a majority exhibit rubber plantation as their primary sub-sector, evident from the average LQ calculations. The LQ and Shift-share results, where LQ>1 and PPW>0, indicate that 10 sub-districts serve as the base sectors for the rubber commodity, positively impacting the economy of Banyuasin Regency. Moreover, six sub-districts with LQ>1 and PPW<0 show that high production values and rubber plantation mobility contribute negatively due to less effective supporting mobility, thereby preventing high yields from translating into positive economic values for Banyuasin Regency. Additionally, five sub-districts with LQ<1 signify that rubber plantations have not yet emerged as leading sectors in these areas.

The cross-sectional data of nineteen G20 countries during the analysis period of 2015-2021 was analyzed using panel data regression. This study finds that work force participation rate positively and significantly influences economic growth and that human capital also can enhance economic growth although insignificantly, However, government expenditure on education has positive and significant results on economic growth. These findings contribute to literatures that discuss factors affecting economic growth at the global level. They can also be used as considerations for promoting policies that reduce participation obstacles, such as discrimination, education disparity, and socioeconomic factors. Abstract

One of the sectors most affected by the policies issued by the goverment due to the Covid-19 pandemic is the MSME sector. whereas in fact, MSMEs are the main actors in economic activities in Indonesia. MSMEs are also the largest provider of employement. The decline in people's purchasing power has an effect on the decline in the income of the MSME sector so that the MSME sector is required to have a strategy on how their business can survive or they can still obtain capital to produce further. This study uses field research or field research where researchs conduct research and collect data directly and see the actual phenomenon. The results showed that the traders' survival strategy was to do financing in the informal sector of Bank Thitil because it was considered an easy process and fast time. Compared to other formal or informal sectors. Bank Thitil is the easiest solution because there is no need for collateral as loan collateral. The diffulty experienced by traders is that the interest rates given are too high, so to cover loans in one sector the traders make loans to other sectors so as to multiply the loans they have and bear very high interest rates.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how microfinance institutions, especially cooperatives, influence the development of MSMEs with variables, namely the amount of financing and cooperative interest rates, influencing the development of MSMEs from the perspective of business profits. This research uses quantitative research methods with multiple linear regression analysis tools. The data used in this research is primary data obtained using questionnaires from respondents, namely 55 MSMEs in Mojokerto Regency. In this research, research results found that the variables of the amount of financing and interest rates set by cooperatives had an effect on the development of MSMEs (in terms of increasing turnover). From the results of this research, it is recommended that MSME players make more use of cooperatives as a place to obtain financing with the aim of developing MSMEs. And MSME players must be more able to distribute their business funds so that capital problems do not become an obstacle in developing their business.

Abstract

This The objective of this research is to analyze the partial and simultaneous effects ZIS (zakat, infaq, and sadaqah) distribution, inflation, and exchange rate on economic growth in Indonesia during the 2016-2021 period. This quantitative study uses time-series secondary data during the span of 2016 to 2021, which was analyzed using multiple linear regression and classical assumption test. The results indicate that ZIS distribution, inflation, and exchange rate partially have positive and significant effects on economic growth in Indonesia and that they simultaneously have significant impacts on economic growth in Indonesia. Further, the adjusted R2 value demonstrates that the three variables above are able to explain Indonesia’s economic growth by 66.4%. The remaining 33.6% or 0.336 is explained by other variables not included in this research. Abstract

Social innovation has become one of the key strategies in promoting economic welfare across various regions, particularly in rural communities that often face structural challenges such as poverty, limited access to resources, and low education levels. This study aims to analyze the role of social innovation in improving the economic welfare of rural communities. A qualitative literature review method was employed, utilizing data from articles available on Google Scholar, published between 2018 and 2023. The findings of this study reveal that social innovation plays a highly significant role in enhancing the economic welfare of rural communities. Through collaborative approaches, local empowerment, and the utilization of available resources, social innovation can address various challenges faced by rural communities, such as limited market access, technology, and financing. Case studies, including the village of Nglanggeran in Yogyakarta, sustainable agricultural programs in Central Java, and digital initiatives like "Farmers Go Online," demonstrate that social innovation can create sustainable positive impacts. Social innovation has the potential to be a key driver of inclusive economic growth in rural areas by emphasizing active local community participation and cross-sector collaboration.
