Abstract

Objective: This study aims to describe and analyze the strategies of Islamic Religious Education teachers in fostering students' morals through the cult of Dzuhur Prayer and evaluate the role of the cult in improving the morality of students at SMA Muhammadiyah Darul Arqom Karanganyar for the 2024/2025 academic year. Theoretical framework: This research is based on the theory of character education and moral development in Islam, which emphasizes the importance of examples, habituation, and spiritual approaches in shaping students' personalities and behaviors. Literature review: The literature review includes a study of the methods of moral development in Islamic education, the role of cults in non-formal learning, and the importance of spiritual approaches in shaping the character of students. Methods: This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using data reduction techniques, inductive approaches, and conclusion drawing and verification. Results: The results of the study show that teachers apply strategies in the form of contextual material delivery, examples, and moral habituation in daily life. Kultum is effective in increasing moral awareness and improving students' attitudes in the school environment. Implications: This study emphasizes the importance of cult as a medium for strategic moral development in Islamic education, as well as encouraging the strengthening of spiritual approaches in shaping students' character as a whole. Novelty: The uniqueness of this research lies in its focus on the cult of Dhuhr Prayer as a systematic approach to the moral development of students in secondary school, which has not been discussed in depth in contemporary Islamic education studies.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to explore the implementation of George R. Terry's management principles, which include the functions of planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising, in the management of the learning curriculum at the Tahfidzul Qur'an Bilal bin Rabah Islamic Boarding School, Sukoharjo. Theoretical framework: The theoretical framework in this study refers to the four management functions of George R. Terry: planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising. as a foundation in managing the organization effectively, including in the context of pesantren education. Literature review: The literature review in this study covers education management theory, particularly George R. Terry's managerial principles, as well as previous studies that discuss the implementation of management in religious-based educational institutions, including Islamic boarding schools. Methods: This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The main informants consist of the head of the pesantren and the management staff. Data analysis is carried out through interactive methods that include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions drawn. Results: The results of the study show that the implementation of George R. Terry's management principles has been well implemented in this Islamic boarding school, as can be seen from the planned curriculum structure, clear organization, implementation of learning methods such as talaqqi, and murojaah, and supervision carried out through memorization evaluation and monitoring of student activities. However, there are still obstacles in the form of limited competent human resources, lack of innovation in learning methods, and evaluation systems that have not been digitized. Implications: It is necessary to strengthen human resources, innovate methods, and digitize evaluations to improve the quality of pesantren education. Novelty: Offers a new perspective on the application of classical management in the tahfidz pesantren curriculum system.

Abstract

Objective: This study is to describe the application of a social constructivist approach in increasing students' learning motivation in the subject of Al-Qur'an Hadith grade IX at IT Ar-Risalah Sukoharjo Junior High School for the 2024/2025 Academic Year. Theoretical framework: this research is based on social constructivist theory that emphasizes the importance of collaborative and interactive learning, where knowledge is built through social interaction between students with the support of scaffolding and tutoring techniques. Literature review: This study includes a study of the effectiveness of social constructivist approaches in improving motivation and learning outcomes, the importance of collaboration in the learning process, and the role of teachers as facilitators who encourage active student engagement. Methods: This study uses qualitative descriptive methods with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observations, and documentation to get an in-depth picture of the application of these methods. Results: research shows that the application of a social constructivist approach can significantly increase students' learning motivation through the application of scaffolding, tutoring, and heterogeneous group discussions, which creates an active and enjoyable learning atmosphere. The success of the implementation of this approach is supported by the competence of the principal, the professionalism of teachers, and the availability of adequate infrastructure, although there are obstacles in the form of differences in student abilities and limited learning time. Implications: This study shows that a social constructivist approach can be an effective learning strategy to increase students' motivation and learning achievement, as well as provide an alternative to a more interactive teaching method in learning the Qur'an Hadith. Novelty:  this research lies in the concrete application of a social constructivist approach in the context of learning the Qur'an Hadith, which is still rarely studied, as well as in the identification of supporting factors and obstacles faced in its implementation in the Islamic school environment at the secondary level.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to examine the effect of the implementation of routine dhikr Al-Ma'surat in the morning and evening on the morals of students in grade 7 H at the Tahfidzul Qur'an Abi-Ummi Boyolali Islamic Boarding School. Theoretical framework: This research is on the importance of dhikr in the spiritual development and character formation of students, assuming that consistent worship practices can make a positive contribution to moral development. Literature review: this research includes studies related to dhikr, strengthening the character of students, and the role of the pesantren environment in shaping personality and morals. Methods: This study uses a quantitative method with a causal approach, where data is collected through a questionnaire that measures the implementation of Al-Ma'surat dhikr and documentation of students' moral values from the report card. Results: The results of the study showed that most of the students had a good category in the implementation of dhikr and their morals, but the results of the Product-Moment correlation test showed a very low and insignificant relationship (r = 0.017) between the implementation of dhikr Al-Ma'surat and the morals of the students. Implications: This research highlights the need for a more integrated dhikr development strategy and the strengthening of the pesantren environment that is more conducive to shaping the morals of students as a whole. Novelty: this research lies in the finding that although the dhikr of Al-Ma'surat is considered important, in practice it has not had a significant influence on the morals of the students, thus opening up opportunities to explore other factors that are more dominant in character formation.
