Abstract

Pineapple Liquid Waste has high organic material  and still unfulfilled required quality standard. Processing occurred at the waste processing installation with pond system (Lagoon) required a wide space and keep long time so that less efficient. Based on this problem, it needs an environmentally sound waste management by utilizing bioprocess technology using indigenous bacteria’s ability in degrading organic pollutant called Bioremediation. The objective of this research was to get isolated indigenous bacteria, enables to decrease organic material. It was divided into four stages. First, performed characteristic observation of isolated bacteria that potentially decrease organic material, secondly decomposition capability test in vitro, and thirdly scale bioremediation test pilot plan, fourthly bioremediation test in ex situ at the microbiology laboratory of Malang State University. Data were analyzed by Varian analysis to test the presence or absence of differences and regression test to analyze the link between variables. First phase result: 15 isolated indigenous bacteria.. Potential consortia bacteria consisting of more effective 4 species, indicated by 4 consortia bacteria decreased BOD in 6 days. Starter bacteria with a consortia K1’s combination (ABCD), Volume: 5% (v/v) and 6 days were the most effective incubation time in decreasing BOD. Second phase result: 1) A significant link among the number of bacteria, a. Bacillus cereus, b. Acinetobacter baumanni, c.Bacillus subtilis, d. Pseudomonas pseudomallei and not abcd against organic material with contribution of 72,7% and negatively correlated, 2) Media treatment and incubation time gave distinctive outcome against organic material,  3) there was a link between organic material organic acid concentration decrease would decrease BOD  at scale bioremediation test Pilot plan, and ex situ scale. Threshold BOD achievement limit value on 10th day (75) quality standard: 75. In accordance with ministry decree LH No. 05 year 2007 industrial wastewater quality standard, suggested to industry to use this study in processing its waste. Keywords: organic material, isolated indigenous bacteria, pineapple liquid waste.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the most appropriate processing variations in reducing levels of lead metal (Pb), find out the most appropriate processing variation to maintain the calcium (Ca) content of mussel shell, and provide information about the potential of processed mussel shells as animal feed. This study used a completely randomized design method (CRD) with 4 treatments, namely, processing steamed shells (BW0), boiled (CW0), sauteed (DW0) and fresh shells as a control (AW0). Based on the results of the analysis, the treatment that reduces lead content the most is processing of boiled shells (CW0) of 815,488 ppm. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the boiled processing method is the treatment that removes the highest levels of lead metal (Pb) and the steamed processing method is the most appropriate method of processing calcium content in the shell.

Abstract

The research about the mixture of moringa leaf flour and rice bran on the growth of orgainic chicken on Joper chicken. var as a source of learning biology aims to determine the effect of feed from the mixture of moringa leaf flour (Moringa oleifera L) and rice bran on the growth of organic chickens (Gallus-gallus domesticus L. Joper chicken. var), then to find out certain variations of the mixture of moringa leaf flour (Moringa oleifera L) and rice bran which gives the best influence and to make posters that are used as a source of high school biology learning. The method used is a completely randomized design (CRD), experiments conducted with 3 treatments and 1 control. Control (0% moringa leaf flour), P1 (2.5% moringa leaf flour), P2 (5% moringa leaf flour) and P3 (7.5% moringa leaf flour). The parameters observed were weight, length, and diameter of the joper body. The results of the study were tested using a non-parametric statistical test or commonly called the kruskal wallis test. Kruskal wallis test results on chicken weight obtained X2value 4.09 <X2table 14.07 at α 0.05 means Ho is accepted, length measurements obtained results X2value = 3.61 <X2table = 14.07 at α 0.05 means Ho is accepted, diameter measurements obtained results X2 value = 4.2 <X2 table = 14.07 at α 0.05 means Ho is accepted. The conclusion from this study was the feed from the mixture of moringa leaf flour and rice bran did not have a significant effect on the growth of joper. The results of the used ranking from 5% Moringa leaf flour gave the best effect for weight gain of joper. Based on the results of the validation of learning resources shows that learning resources in the form of posters that are made were feasible to be used as a source of learning biology for high school students.Kata kunci: super java chicken, Indigofera, alternative feed, poster learning resources

Abstract

Curly lettuce is one of the types of vegetables favoured by the community, but lately, organic vegetables are more in demand. One effort to get organic vegetables by using organic fertilizer during the planting period. Organic fertilizers come from nature, one of which is shrimp pond sediment whose utilization is not optimal. This study aims to determine the effect of shrimp pond sediment organic fertilizer application for growth and productivity of curly lettuce (Lactuca sativa cispa L). The study was conducted for 40 days, this type of research experiments using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 1 control and 6 replications. The parameters used include plant height and wet weight of curly lettuce plants. The main data is tabulated and analyzed using the SPSS 16.0 application which includes Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA). It was concluded that the organic fertilizer of shrimp pond sediment variation P1 (the composition of 100% shrimp pond sediment) provided the most optimal effect on the growth and productivity of curly lettuce (Lactuca sativa crispa L). Brochure validation results indicate that the brochure is very suitable to be used as a source of information about pond organic sediment fertilizer.

Abstract

The study to determine the effect of variations in the composition of organic fertilizer from coffee husks on the productivity of red spinach (Amaranthus tricolor L), using a completely randomized design (CRD) with one control and four treatment combinations with six repetitions carried out for 30 days. Productivity includes the height and wet weight of red spinach. Data were analyzed using Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA). In conclusion, the application of coffee husk organic fertilizer has a significant effect on the growth and productivity of red spinach, the best dose of treatment is P3 = 50% coffee husk + 12.5% leaf waste + 25% livestock manure + 12.5% husk charcoal.
