Abstract

This research aimed to describe the development of scientific writing model based on PARMI. The stages included: creating prototypes; and developing models through four stages, focus group discussions, experts’ considerations, limited trials, and extensive trials. The research involved students and lecturers from STAIB (Islamic Bunga Bangsa Institute), STAIC (Islamic Institute of Cirebon), STAIMA (Islamic Institute of Ma’had Ali), and ISIF (Fahmina Institute of Islamic Studies) between July and December 2014. In these model included a philosophical foundation, either a concept or a principal; its application; and its effects. It finds that based on expert judgment, this model is feasible to be developed and piloted. The results of the limited trials provide some improvement, especially on the application of PARMI. Based on the results of extensive trials it can be concluded that PARMI can improve students’ ability in scientific writing.

Abstract

This research aimed to find out the discrimination against women in Indonesia, especially reflected in novels Entrok, Maryam, and Pasung Jiwa written by Okky Madasari. Over centuries, women in Indonesia had faced various forms of discrimination that happened because of the strong influence of patriarchal culture, norms, customs, and even religion. That viewpoint then caused men and women to have different roles, both biologically and socially. Women had roles to keep house, family, and children, meanwhile, men had roles to provide for living and protection to the family. The discrimination problem, especially for women, was still the most discussed topic due to the lack of public awareness about women’s roles in community life. This research was a descriptive qualitative research using feminism approach. The data in this research were in the forms of sentences, paragraphs, dialogues, and discourses that reflect discrimination against women. The data analysis technique used in this research was content analysis. The research result shows that there is discrimination towards women in the sectors of economic and social based on the utterances from these three novels by Okky Madasari.

Abstract

Perempuan secara kultural dipandang memainkan peran gender hanya di ranah domestik, bukan di ranah publik seperti laki-laki. Sementara, peran gender merupakan buah dari kesepakatan sosial berdasar kultur peradaban. Peran gender terbentuk berdasarkan perilaku-perilaku yang dilakukan/diperankan sehingga menciptakan suatu budaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan ketidakadilan peran gender terhadap perempuan dalam cerita pendek surat kabar Media Indonesia 2017. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik analisis isi. Teknik pengambilan sampel penelitian ini menerapkan teknik purposive sampling dimana mengambil teks cerpen yang memuat isu gender dalam surat kabar Media Indonesia tahun 2017. Validitas data memanfaat triangulasi, yaitu triangulasi teori dan triangulasi peneliti. Hasil penelitian sebagai berikut. Cerpen-cerpen yang tersiar di surat kabar Media Indonesia melukiskan ketidakadilan peran gender perempuan berupa stereotip (pelabelan negatif) dan beban kerja yang lebih dominan dibanding laki-laki. Pelabelan negatif (stereotip) tersebut antara lain perempuan mudah menaruh percaya sehingga mudah dirayu-dibodohi, perempuan terlalu emosional menonjolkan perasaan sehingga perempuan mudah terpengaruh suasana untuk membuka diri tanpa berpikir panjang, dan perempuan mudah depresi karena tidak sanggup tertekan. Sementara, beban kerja perempuan lebih dominan di ranah domestic, yaitu perempuan bertanggung jawab penuh dalam mengasuh anak.Women are culturally seen to play gender roles only in the domestic sphere, not in the public domain like men. Meanwhile, gender roles are social agreement based on the culture of civilization. Gender roles are formed based on behaviors that are performed so as to create a culture. This study aims to describe the unfairness of gender roles towards women in the short story of Media Indonesia newspaper on 2017. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with content analysis techniques. The sampling technique applied a purposive sampling technique in which the short story text contains gender issues in Media Indonesia newspapers. Data validity applied triangulation, namely theory triangulation and researcher triangulation. The results indicates two finding. Short stories published in Media Indonesia newspapers depict the injustice of women's gender roles in the form of stereotypes (negative labeling) and workloads that are more dominant than men. These stereotypes include women who are easy to believe so they are easily seduced, women are too emotional to highlight feelings so that women are easily influenced by the atmosphere to open themselves without thinking, and women are easily depressed because they cannot be depressed. Abstract

Text learning provided by students at the Junior High School level (JHS) is in the form of fiction and non-fiction texts. This study focuses on fictional texts about folklore based on local wisdom for class VIII. The taking of local wisdom folklore is motivated by the element of caring for nature as a strengthening of character values ​​to realize the goals of character education found in the National Education System. Thus, educators try to provide folklore media as a means of learning literary texts, especially fiction texts. Thus, this study aims to explain and describe (1) character building through folklore media; (2) Folklore media make use of local wisdom stories in Ngawi sub-district, Ngawi district, and (3) the application of environmental values ​​in folklore in Ngawi sub-district, Ngawi district. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The results showed that (1) folklore media can provide educational facilities as well as teaching character education in the form of environmental care values; (2) Folklore in Ngawi sub-district as a medium to motivate students to explain concern for the surrounding environment, and (3) an alternative learning media facility for creative and innovative fictional text material

Abstract

Folklore as one of the cultural output with robust  value of character education from of the community where the story was created and developed. The study aims to describe the value of character education in the compilation of folklore. The method used is qualitative descriptive method with data source of research in the form of folklore from Pacitan published by Grasindo 2004 which contains 10 story titles. The research data is collected by reading the story plot as well as the content of the meaning or message in each story and noting. Data analysis is done by content analysis technique, that is research analysis that want to reveal the idea of writer or creator both manifested and latent. The results show that Pacitan folklore as a literary work contains the value of character education which includes: (1) religious, (2) honest, (3) hard work, (4) creative, (5) curiosity, (6) Spirit of nationalism, (7) respecting achievement, (8) love of peace, (9) environmental care, (10) social care, and (11) responsibility. These values form the basis that folklore is used as a medium for introducing stories that ancestors believed to their descendants, as well as being a means of educating their character.Keyword: character education, folklore, Pacitan.MUATAN PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER DALAM CERITA RAKYAT DI PACITAN AbstrakCerita rakyat sebagai salah satu produk kebudayaan tentu sarat akan nilai pendidikan karakter dari masyarakat tempat cerita itu lahir dan berkembang. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter dalam kumpulan cerita rakyat tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan sumber data penelitian berupa Buku Cerita Rakyat dari Pacitan terbitan Grasindo 2004 yang memuat 10 judul cerita. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan membaca secara cermat terkait alur cerita maupun kandungan makna atau amanat dalam setiap cerita dan melakukan pencatatan. Analisis data dilakukan dengan teknik analisis isi (content analysis), yakni analisis penelitian yang mengungkap gagasan penulis atau pencipta baik yang termanifestasi maupun yang laten. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Cerita Rakyat dari Pacitan sebagai suatu karya sastra mengandung nilai pendidikan karakter yang meliputi: (1) religius, (2) jujur, (3) kerja keras, (4) kreatif, (5) rasa ingin tahu, (6) semangat kebangsaan, (7) menghargai prestasi, (8) cinta damai, (9) peduli lingkungan, (10) peduli sosial, dan (11) tanggung jawab. Nilai-nilai tersebut menjadi dasar bahwa cerita rakyat selain digunakan sebagai media memperkenalkan kisah-kisah yang diyakini nenek moyang kepada keturunannya, juga bisa sekaligus menjadi sarana mendidik karakter pada diri mereka.Kata kunci: pendidikan karakter, cerita rakyat, Pacitan.

Abstract

Natural disasters that have hit Indonesia recently have caused huge losses. Low public awareness about the importance of the environment as one of the causes. Therefore, the internalitation of environmental care attitudes and behavior is continuously carried out. One effort that can be done is through efforts to integrate ecological intelligence in Indonesian language learning, especially the skills to write opinion articles. This article aims to explain (1) the strategy of writing articles on environmental insight and (2) writing articles of environmental insight. The subjects of this study were teachers and high school students in Surakarta. The results that can be obtained from this study are as follows. First, the strategy to increase the competence of writing opinion articles based on environmental issues is achieved in stages, namely focus group discussions, workshops and training for teachers, learning to write opinion articles in class, assignments to students, reviewing student opinion works, and publication to mass media and collection books. student opinion work. Second, student competency in writing opinion articles about environmental issues have increased.

Abstract

The story of Javanese script are spoken by hereditary that contains the character of educational values implicitly. This research aims to analyze the semiotic meaning and the implicit character educational values in the story. Source of data this research is Seneng Maca Aksara Jawa published by Percada. This research used descriptive qualitative method and used semiotic approach by Charles Sander Peirce. Data were obtained by reading text story of Javanese script and then analyze about sign, meaning of sign, and the character of educational values in it. The findings of the research showed: (1) the legend of Javanese script delivered by icons, indexes, and symbols, (2) the semiotic meaning of story of Javanese script contains character educational values, namely: religious, hard work, democratic, curiosity, recpect for achievement, love of peace, social awareness, and responsibility. The character educational values in the semiotic meaning of story of Javanese script were relevant with the values which established by Ministry of National Education. Moreover, it can be benefitted as contextual materials based on character of education in learning process of Javanese language appropriate with the Curriculum of 2013.Keyword: semiotic, Javanese script, character educationNILAI-NILAI PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER DALAM MAKNA SEMIOTIK LEGENDA AKSARA JAWAAbstrakLegenda aksara Jawa yang dituturkan turun-temurun mengandung nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter secara tersirat. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis makna semiotik dan muatan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang tersirat di dalamnya. Sumber data penelitian berupa buku Seneng Maca Aksara Jawa terbitan Percada. Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini menggunakan pendekatan semiotik Charles Sander Peirce. Data penelitian diperoleh dengan membaca secara cermat teks legenda aksara Jawa kemudian mengkaji tanda, makna tanda, serta muatan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter di dalamnya. Selanjutnya diperoleh temuan data sebagai berikut: (1) legenda aksara Jawa mengandung tanda-tanda berupa ikon, indeks, dan simbol; (2) makna semiotik legenda aksara Jawa mengandung nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter, yaitu: religius, kerja keras, demokratis, rasa ingin tahu, menghargai prestasi, cinta damai, peduli sosial, dan tanggung jawab. Nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter tersebut relevan dengan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang ditetapkan oleh Kementerian Pendidikan Nasional sehingga dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sebagai materi kontekstual berbasis pendidikan karakter pada proses pembelajaran Bahasa Jawa sesuai dengan tuntutan Kurikulum 2013.Kata kunci: semiotik, aksara Jawa, pendidikan karakter.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to describe the value of character education of folklore in the Saparan tradition for the improvement of writing skills on learning in High School. This type of research is descriptive qualitative by deepening the history and education value through direct observation, interview, and document analysis. The validity of this study used triangulation of data and sources. Based on the results of analysis using Roland Barthes's semiotics theory validated by in-depth interviews, it is concluded that the values of character education in this Saparan tradition are the value of social care, the value of cultural education, and religious values. The substance of this research is to provide an understanding of the history and value of folklore in the Saparan tradition as a learning material for improving writing skills.Keywords: education value ,folklore,writing skill.  AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan nilai pendidikan karakter cerita rakyat dalam tradisi Saparan untuk peningkatan keterampilan menulis pada pembelajaran di Sekolah Menengah Atas. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan mendalami sejarah dan nilai pendidikan melalui observasi langsung, wawancara, dan analisis dokumen. Validitas penelitian ini menggunakan triangulasi data dan sumber. Berdasarkan hasil analisis menggunakan teori semiotika Roland Barthes yang divalidasi dengan wawancara mendalam, disimpulkan bahwa nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter dalam tradisi Saparan ini adalah nilai peduli sosial, nilai pendidikan budaya, dan nilai religius. Substansi dari penelitian ini adalah memberi pemahaman tentang sejarah dan nilai pada cerita rakyat dalam tradisi Saparan sebagai bahan pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis.Kata Kunci: nilai pendidikan, cerita rakyat, keterampilan menulis.

Abstract

Address forms is used to greet and to respect the other person. Address forms is used to strengthen the communication link between the speaker and the other person. The purpose of this research is to describe the form of address forms and the mean address forms used by students and teachers in learning Indonesian at Al Abidin Bilingual Boarding Senior High School. Research methodology is descriptive qualitative which aims to generate data based on existing phenomenon empirically and the result is what it is. Data collection methods that used in this research were enganged talk, note taking, and record technique. The results of this research indicate the address form used by students with other students in interacting with different address form by students to address teachers. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk sapaan dan makna sapaan yang digunakan oleh siswa dan guru dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di SMA Al Abidin Bilingual Boarding School. Metode penelitian ini adalah dekriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk menghasilkan data berdasarkan fenomena yang ada secara empiris dan hasil bersifat apa adanya. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik simak bebas libat cakap, teknik catat, dan rekam. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bentuk sapaan yang digunakan siswa dengan siswa lainnya dalam berinteraksi berbeda dengan bentuk sapaan yang digunakan siswa untuk menyapa guru. Perbedaan pemilihan kata sapaan tersebut dipengaruhi oleh makna kekuasaan (power) dan makna solidaritas (solidarity).Kata kunci: kata sapaan, bentuk sapaan, makna sapaan, pembelajaran

Abstract

The inaccuracy in the assessment results in the difficulty of students expressing themselves in spoken language. The purpose of this research is related to the context, this study examines the condition of the characteristics of students, educators, and the campus environment, as a support for the implementation of the speaking competency assessment. Input, relating to materials and facilities developed to support the implementation of speaking competency assessment. Process, related to the implementation of the speaking competency assessment. The product, the quantity of the achievement of the assessment objectives, the quality of the achievement of the assessment objectives, and the benefits of the achievement of the assessment objectives, from the implementation of the speaking competency assessment at Higher Education. Judging from the type, This study is included in the CIPP evaluation study. The data in this study are qualitative. The data in this study are in the form of googleform, syllabus, RPS, interviews, and the results of standard agreements in focus group discussions and observations of the learning process. This research involved three lecturers each from three Islamic universities in Surakarta, 479 students, and 14 study programs. The results of this study indicate that in the context implementation, input, process, product, and assessment have not fully met the standards set by the government in Permendikbud Number 3 of 2020. Learning to speak Indonesian subjects is based on HOTS although there are several aspects of the assessment that are still LOTS.
