Abstract

The objectives of research this research was to find out whether or not the CALL affects the students’ achievement and to find out the students’ attitude in learning English by using CALL. This research applied quasi-experimental method was used in this research by using non-equivalent control class design. The researcher chose and placed the experimental and control design randomly. The researcher took the first-year students of SMK Negeri 1 Pancarijang Kabupaten Sidrap in academic year 2019-2020 as a research subject. Based on the data found in this research, the researcher concludes that; 1) The use of CALL affected the achievement of the first year students of SMK Negeri 1 Pancarijang Kabupaten Sidrap in academic 2012/2013. It was proved by the mean score of pretest and posttest which was obtained from experimental class was 52.44 and 74.59. While the mean scores of pretest and posttest for the control class were 48.03 and 56.48. After analyzing using SPSS 22.0, the researcher found that (0.00<0.05) where the p-value (0.00) at the level of significance (0.05) and the degree of freedom 66. It indicated that the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted and, of course, the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected. 2) The first-year students of SMK Negeri 1 Pancarijang Kabupaten Sidrap have a positive attitude in learning English through CALL. It was approved by the data that none of the student states negative statement to the use of CALL, 21 students (61.8%) was very favorable who get a score in interval 85-100 and 13 students (38.2%) were favorable in interval 69-84. From the data, the highest score of the students of the students is 100 which is categorized as very favorable, and the lowest score is 70 which is categorized favorable.

Abstract

Tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah 1) Meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman guru penjaskes dalam menyusun RPP memuat karakter bangsa; dan, 2) Meningkatkan keterlaksanaan nilai pembangunan karakter bangsa dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar. Data hasil penilaian RPP yang memuat karakter kebangsaan pada siklus I menunjukkan bahwa pencapaian skor nilai rata-rata RPP mapel penjaskes adalah 30 (kurang baik); dan pada siklus II memperoleh skor nilai rata-rata 43 (sangat baik). Dengan demikian kedua RPP tersebut sudah dikatagorikan sangat baik. Aktivitas siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran yang mewujudkan nilai karakter bangsa pada siklus I mencapai nilai rata-rata sebesar 75, dan pada siklus II mencapai nilai rata-rata sebesar 91, terdapat peningkatan nilai yang cukup signifikan sebesar 16 dari siklus I. Dilihat dari data keterlaksanaan nilai-nilai pembangunan karakter bangsa pada siklus I, terlihat belum banyak indikator nilai-nilai pembangunan karakter bangsa yang dapat diwujudkan. Data hasil observasi menunjukkan bahwa dari 5 indikator nilai-nilai pembangunan karakter bangsa yang diteliti, dalam mata pelajaran penjaskes baru muncul 75%, dan pada pelaksanaan siklus II telah tercapai 91%, terdapat peningkatan ketercapaian sebesar 16%.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui (a) peningkatan kompetensi pedagogik guru ekonomi SMA dalam menyusun RPP melalui penerapan kerja kelompok kegiatan MGMP ekonomi Kabupaten Sidenreng Rappang semester ganjil tahun pelajaran 2015/2016, dan (b) pengaruh penerapan kerja kelompok kegiatan MGMP ekonomi dapat meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik guru ekonomi SMA dalam menyusun RPP Kabupaten Sidenreng Rappang semester ganjil tahun pelajaran 2015/2016. Dengan digunakan metode penelitian tindakan sekolah (PTS) dengan dua siklus yang masing-masing siklusnya terdiri dari tahap (1) perencanaan, (2) pelaksanaan tindakan perbaikan, (3) observasi, dan (4) refleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (a) Terdapat peningkatan kompetensi pedagogik guru ekonomi SMA dalam menyusun RPP. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: pada siklus I jumlah guru aktif 28 (70%) dari 40 guru, pada siklus II jumlah guru aktif 39 (97,5%) dari 40 guru, terdapat peningkatan yang cukup signifikan dari siklus I ke siklus II sebesar 27,5%, yang berarti berada pada katagori sangat baik, dan (b) Penerapan kerja kelompok kegiatan MGMP ekonomi berpengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan kompetensi pedagogik guru ekonomi SMA dalam menyusun RPP. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa keterlibatan guru dalam kegiatan tersebut meningkat, yang berati tergolong sangat baik.

Abstract

This research's purposes were: (1) exploring the perceptions of non-English teachers in teaching English at IAIN Manado; (2) assessing the ability of non-English teachers to attain IAIN Manado student qualifications. This study uses a mixed research method based on an exploratory sequence. The research was conducted using IAIN Manado Purposive sampling technique, and the researcher determined the research object by specific criteria. The study results show: (1) They loved how a non-English professor teaches English. They say that if a non-English teacher is amiable in teaching, he often motivates students to learn English. They also value non-English-based lecturers. Students also actively follow teaching and learning activities, (2) Student evaluations also were found in pre-test and post-test data when post-test ratings were increased, with 7 (41.17%) having an average value, 5 (29.42%) with good ratings, 4 (23.0%) with poor scores, and 1 (5.89%) with very good ratings. This means a significant increase in English language learning by non-English lecturers.

Abstract

Cheating is a common problem yet unresolved issue in the classroom. Some factors make the students cheat, and they do it continually. This article aims to find factors that influence student cheating behavior; the strategies used by the English teacher to overcome student cheating behavior; and the difference in student cheating towards gender. This research is a case study using a descriptive qualitative method. The subjects were UPT SDN 1 Rijang Panua, a sample of schools with 4-grade to 6-grade classes. The questionnaire and the interview were used to collect the data. Data analysis techniques were sequential-parts of the study by Starovoytova and Namango. The result shows that: 1) Three categories of factors that influence student cheating behavior namely a) the situational factor; b) the individual factor; and c) the teacher factor; 2) There are four strategies to overcome student cheating behavior in the EFL Classroom such as explaining the bad impact of cheating behavior, instill character education at an early age, give questions-answer or quiz exercises and give appreciation or praise; 3) there is no difference between cheating behavior based on gender

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan profesionalisme guru dalam mengajar di kelas melalui penerapan supervisi akademik dengan teknik pendekatan lesson study. Prosedur penelitian yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini berupa tindakan yang terbagi dalam dua siklus, tiap siklus terdiri dari empat kegiatan pokok, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, refleksi dan evaluasi. Tindakan yang dilakukan berupa simulasi mengajar/ tutor sebaya dengan menggunakan Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran ( RPP ) dengan pendekatan Lesson Study. Hasil penelitian tindakan sekolah ini pada siklus I dan siklus II adalah : (a), rata-rata hasil simulasi mengajar skor 74,83 (siklus I) dan 93,17 (siklus II), (b), Sikap guru terhadap simulasi PBM skor 73 (siklus I) dan 88 (siklus II), (c), Pembuatan RPP skor 73,83 (siklus I) dan 95,50 ( siklus II) (d). Pelaksanaan PBM di kelas skor 79 (siklus I) dan 95,83 (siklus II).Simpulan penelitian ini adalah pengawasan akademik dengan cara supervisi akademik dengan pendekatan lesson study lebih menumbuhkan profesionalisme guru dalam mengajar di kelas. Peneliti merekomendasikan agar kegiatan penelitian tindakan sekolah ini terus dilakukan untuk memperbaiki mutu profesionalisme guru dan sekolah, dengan terjalin komunikasi yang harmonis setiap elemen pendidikan akan dapat menyelesaikan permasalahan secara tuntas

Abstract

Penelitian tindakan sekolah ini didasari oleh tujuan untuk meningkatkan profesionalisme guru dalam menyusun silabus dan RPP untuk kegiatan belajar mengajar. Sedangkan tujuan umum dari kegiatan penelitian tindakan sekolah ini adalah untuk mengetahui penerapan supervisi akademik oleh pengawas sekolah dapat meningkatkan profesionalisme kerja guru penjaskes dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar di Sekolah. Simpulan yang diperoleh dari kegiatan PTS ini adalah 1) Penerapan supervisi akademik oleh pengawas sekolah terhadap guru penjaskes di SMA Negeri 1 Panca Lautang dapat meningkatkan profesionalisme guru dalam menyusun silabus dan RPP untuk kegiatan belajar mengajar di kelas. 2) Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan guru penjaskes dalam menyusun silabus dan RPP, berimplikasi pada peningkatan partisipasi atau keaktifan siswa serta terhadap kegiatan belajar mengajar yang dapat mempengaruhi peningkatan prestasi siswa.

Abstract

Background: Children from low socioeconomic backgrounds in Indonesia have been facing challenges in terms of their literacy and language development. One of the possible reasons is that they are not used to receiving meaningful early reading interventions such as shared reading during their pre-school attendance. This phenomenon has brought to light the urgency of having an early intervention, which can accommodate the very diverse linguistic and cultural context of Indonesia- a multilingual and multicultural country. Methodology: This study employed an explanatory sequential mixed-method research design. The first phase was conducted in a quantitative one-group pre-experiment with pre-and post-test design. The second phase of this research was carried out in a qualitative case study through classroom observation and informal interviews with the teacher and the children. Findings: The findings of MLU calculation showed that for the pre-test, the mean score was 2.35, the median was 2.20 and the standard deviation was 0.53. Meanwhile, for the post-test, the mean score was 3.72, the median was 3.18 and the standard deviation was 1.38. The qualitative phase explored two main aspects, namely the implementation of dialogic reading activity by the teacher and the teacher as well as children’s opinions regarding the dialogic reading activity. Conclusion: This current study has offered an insight that dialogic reading activity could be well implemented by the teacher in a typical Indonesian pre-school setting. The dialogic reading activity was also found to contribute significantly to the development of children’s expressive language ability. Originality: The findings of this study have indicated dialogic reading potentials in terms of promoting children’s language development and just as importantly, sparking children’s joy of reading since their early years of formal education. Therefore, it is suggested that early childhood educators and parents work hand in hand to incorporate dialogic reading activity into their daily literacy practices at schools as well as at home.
