Abstract

Character education is one of the fundamental aspects in shaping the personality of the younger generation, especially amid the moral and spiritual challenges of the modern era. This study aims to determine: (1) the process of forming the religious character of adolescent girls through Fatayat Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), (2) the effectiveness of religious character formation through Fatayat NU activities in Wonokromo Village, Mojotengah District, Wonosobo Regency, and (3) the supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving Fatayat NU administrators, members, adolescent girls, and the chairperson of Fatayat NU. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model, while data validity was ensured through source and method triangulation. The results show that the formation of religious character is carried out through routine religious studies, mujahadah, yasin and tahlil activities, and Friday charity programs. These activities contribute to the development of religious values, discipline, responsibility, social awareness, and Islamic morals among adolescent girls. Supporting factors include organizational support, family and community involvement, religious environments, and participants’ motivation. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include limited participation, technological influences, time constraints, inadequate facilities, and differences in participants’ backgrounds. Therefore, Fatayat NU plays an important role in fostering the religious character of adolescent girls through continuous religious, social, and educational activities

Abstract

This study was inspired by the growing presence of social media among elementary school children, which has an impact on the ethical growth of Generation Z. While social media offers benefits like easier access to information, it also carries drawbacks such as a decrease in politeness, poor discipline, and behavioral changes in students. In this context, teachers of Islamic Religious Education have a crucial role in fostering and enhancing the moral strength of students so they can confront the adverse effects of social media. The purpose of this study is to: (1) assess the moral resilience of Generation Z students regarding the effects of social media at SDN 1 Kalimendong, (2) recognize the different ways social media influences students' moral values, and (3) evaluate how Islamic Religious Education teachers are working to enhance the moral resilience of Generation Z against social media's effects at SDN 1 Kalimendong. This research adopted a qualitative descriptive method with a field research framework. Data were gathered through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The participants of the study included the principal, teachers of Islamic Religious Education, classroom educators, fifth and sixth-grade students, and parents. The analysis of data involved reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions, with the reliability of the data being checked through both source triangulation and technique triangulation. Findings from the research show that the moral resilience of Generation Z students at SDN 1 Kalimendong is generally strong, though certain students are still affected by excessive use of social media. Social media can positively contribute to expanding students’ knowledge and awareness; however, it can also negatively influence their behavior, communication etiquette, discipline, and socialization. The actions taken by Islamic Religious Education teachers to bolster students' moral resilience include promoting religious practices, serving as role models, providing guidance and counseling, monitoring the use of social media, collaborating with parents, and incorporating Islamic ethical values into their teaching. These initiatives are found to be effective in encouraging students to adopt selective, disciplined, and responsible behaviors in their use of social media.

Abstract

In this era of rapid technological advancement, human life is compelled to keep pace, prompting diverse perspectives across society regarding these changes. Particular concern arises from negative impacts-such as unwise internet usage and a lack of information filtering-which can inadvertently lead to societal issues, including the erosion of morals, character, etiquette, and social values.The primary objective of this study is to describe and analyze the role of the Majelis Akhyarul Widad as a medium for fostering community morality at the Pondok Ilmu Baitul Akhyar in Karangluhur, Kalianget, Wonosobo. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis involves data collection, reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The approach is grounded in the concept of taqwa (piety), emphasizing steadfastness (istiqamah), sincerity (ikhlas), attentive listening, deep internalization, and a genuine understanding of the recited texts among the congregation
