Abstract

Grammatical knowledge plays an important role in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learning; however, many students still experience difficulties in constructing grammatically correct sentences. This study aimed to investigate students’ sentence construction ability before and after the implementation of jumbled word activities and to determine whether there was a significant difference after the treatment. This study employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The research was conducted at MAN 2 Parepare involving 30 students of class XI A1 selected through purposive sampling. The data were collected through pre-test and post-test sentence construction tasks and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings showed that the students’ mean score increased from 56.43 to 76.30. The paired sample t-test also revealed a significance value of p < 0.001, indicating a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores. Therefore, jumbled word activities were effective in improving students’ sentence construction mastery, particularly in constructing simple and compound sentences.

Abstract

Islamic Cultural History (learning in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah generally encounters issues like low student interest due to traditional, repetitive teaching methods that rely too much on rote memorization. This study aims to investigate the importance of teacher pedagogical skills and the impact of using Active Learning strategies through the Jigsaw model on enhancing the quality of SKI learning. The research method applied is qualitative with a library research approach. Data were gathered from various primary and secondary sources such as books and relevant journal articles, then examined using qualitative descriptive techniques. The findings indicate that teacher pedagogical skills are a vital element in developing adaptive learning innovations. The use of the Jigsaw model proves effective in changing the classroom environment to be more engaging through the "Expert Group" and "Home Group" systems. This model can enhance individual accountability, self-confidence, and student retention of historical knowledge through the peer teaching method. The conclusion of this study is that the Jigsaw model Active Learning strategy is notably better than conventional lecturing methods in reviving Islamic historical values and boosting student engagement, as long as the teacher acts as a disciplined and creative facilitator.

Abstract

The teaching of pantun in elementary schools (SD/MI) has been found to still employ conventional, monotonous teaching methods, resulting in students becoming less enthusiastic, experiencing difficulties in composing pantun according to the rules, and lacking involvement in the learning process. This study aims to describe the implementation of snakes and ladders as a form of Game-Based Learning (GBL) in teaching pantun in fifth grade, analyze the role of teachers in the process, and identify forms of student activity and engagement. The research method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were obtained through observation, teacher reflective journals, and interviews with students. The results of the study indicate that the pantun snake and ladder game is effective in creating an active, collaborative, and enjoyable learning atmosphere. Teachers play the role of facilitators, guides, and motivators, maintaining a balance between the structure of learning and the flexibility of the process. Student engagement is reflected in active participation in answering questions, group discussions, and healthy competitive spirit. Most students (around 90%) were able to compose pantun independently according to the rules and rhymes. This GBL strategy successfully fostered students' interest, creativity, and understanding of pantun. These findings recommend the integration of traditional game media in literature learning to improve cultural literacy and learning effectiveness at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Amidst the complex challenges of modern education, teacher ethics and professionalism emerge as two fundamental aspects that play a strategic role in shaping the moral and intellectual qualities of students. Teacher ethics and professionalism are two fundamental aspects in education that play a crucial role in shaping students' religious character. This study aims to provide an understanding of the role of teacher ethics and professionalism, and their relationship to religious character formation in educational settings. Teacher ethics encompass attitudes, values, and behaviors that reflect exemplary behavior. Professionalism, on the other hand, relates to teacher competence, responsibility, and the quality of teacher performance in the learning process. Through a literature review, it was found that good teacher ethics can serve as the primary foundation for instilling religious values in students through role models and daily interactions. Furthermore, teacher professionalism strengthens this process through systematic lesson planning, the use of effective methods, and the ability to create a conducive learning environment. The synergy between teacher ethics and professionalism results in a more optimal internalization of religious values, so that students not only understand religious teachings cognitively but are also able to implement them in their daily lives. Thus, teacher ethics and professionalism contribute significantly to shaping students' religious character and therefore need to be continuously developed as part of efforts to improve the quality of education.

Abstract

Schools and madrasas require a clear strategic direction so that educational programs do not stop at administrative routines. Vision, mission, and institutional objectives are essential instruments for aligning learning, school culture, resource management, and quality assurance. This article aims to describe the management cycle of developing, socializing, implementing, and evaluating school or madrasa vision, mission, and objectives as a basis for improving the quality of basic education. The method used is a literature study with a descriptive-analytical approach. Data were obtained from educational regulations, books on strategic management and school-based management, and relevant scientific articles. The analysis shows that vision and mission should be formulated through a participatory process based on internal and external context analysis. Socialization is effective when it uses formal, visual, digital, and participatory communication channels. Implementation must be translated into curriculum planning, learning practices, extracurricular activities, character formation, school culture, and institutional work programs. Evaluation should be conducted periodically using measurable indicators, evidence-based reflection, and follow-up plans. The contribution of this article is an integrated management cycle that connects strategic formulation, collective understanding, program execution, and continuous improvement in school and madrasa governance.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are a crucial pillar of the Indonesian economy; however, MSME actors in Makassar City still face numerous challenges, including limited access to capital, low digital literacy, lack of product innovation, and weak marketing strategies. This study aims to analyze the forms of MSME strengthening through the Business Incubator development program of the Makassar City Cooperative Office and to assess its conformity with the principles of Islamic economic law. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The results indicate that the incubator program has provided tangible strengthening for MSME actors through business legality facilitation (NIB, PIRT, intellectual property rights), financial management training, product packaging and branding development, and the 10,000 Free Skill Training program. From the perspective of Islamic economic law, this program shows significant conformity with the principles of hifzh al-mal (protection of wealth), economic justice ('adl), prohibition of gharar, and maslahah 'ammah (public benefit). This study recommends a comprehensive strengthening of Islamic values integration within the incubator program to build an MSME ecosystem that excels not only economically but also spiritually.
