Abstract

Conventionally, apologies are understood as expressions of regret or corrective exchanges aimed at maintaining social order when a norm is violated. However, in the context of social commerce content among the Madurese ethnic group, apologies do not always signify remorse. This study examines the phenomenon of apologies accompanied by threats in the practice of Madurese social commerce on digital platforms such as Facebook and YouTube. The threats accompanying apologies can be either non-conditional or conditional, and are used to strengthen bargaining positions or assert the speaker’s authority. Using an ethnocyberpragmatic approach, this research highlights how apology utterances accompanied by threats or warnings are employed within Madurese social commerce content. Data were collected from social media posts showcasing bargaining interactions between sellers and buyers. The analysis reveals that apologies in this discourse do not function literally, but rather as part of a culturally distinctive trading strategy. In conclusion, social commerce within the Madurese community serves not only as a medium for economic transactions but also as a site for cultural expression and identity negotiation that remains vibrant in contemporary digital communication practices.

Abstract

This paper explores in depth the creativity and engagement of students in art learning with ecoprint techniques through a project-based learning model in elementary school. This research was conducted in a rural elementary school in Malang using a qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the interactive analytical model proposed by Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, which encompasses three stages: data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. Data trustworthiness was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that the application of the Project-Based Learning model in arts instruction, using the ecoprint technique, significantly enhances students’ creativity and engagement in learning. The instructional process followed a systematic sequence that began with essential questions, designing a project plan, creating an activity schedule, supervising the project work, assessing the resulting product, and conducting an evaluation. This pedagogical practice successfully provided learners with a more contextual and experiential learning environment. Further research is recommended to implement this model in schools or grade levels with different typological characteristics, enabling more rigorous testing of its effectiveness across various educational contexts.

Abstract

Although religious education for children with special needs has attracted increasing attention, there remains a limited number of studies examining specific strategies for instilling religious values in students with intellectual disabilities, despite their critical role in character development and spiritual independence. This study aims to analyze the implementation of habituation methods in fostering Islamic spiritual intelligence and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors at SLB Putra Idhata Madiun. A qualitative approach with a field study design was employed, involving research subjects at SLB Putra Idhata Madiun from May to December 2024. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using interactive analysis techniques comprising data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the habituation method is implemented consistently through the integration of daily routines such as praying before and after lessons, practicing ablution, performing congregational Dhuhr prayers, cultivating the tradition of greetings, and commemorating Islamic holidays. These results are aligned with the research objectives and reinforce behaviorist theory, which posits that the repetition of routine behaviors can effectively shape cognitive patterns in students with special needs. The study concludes that the spiritual intelligence of children with intellectual disabilities can be effectively developed through structured routines, although its success is highly contingent on the synergy between teacher guidance, parental support, and the broader school environment. Theoretically, this research enriches the literature on inclusive Islamic education, while practically it provides recommendations for schools to enhance creative innovations in religious habituation programs and for parents to strengthen continuous spiritual guidance at home, as well as opening opportunities for further research on adaptive technology-based learning media to support the spirituality of children with intellectual disabilities in more interactive ways.

Abstract

This study examines the structural relationship between work engagement, self-efficacy, and teacher performance among Madrasah Ibtidaiyah teachers in Malang City. A quantitative explanatory approach with a survey design was employed involving 191 teachers selected through proportional random sampling. The instruments used were the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES), the Teachers’ Sense of Efficacy Scale, and the Marzano Teacher Evaluation Model. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The findings indicate that work engagement significantly influences both self-efficacy and teacher performance. Self-efficacy also has a significant positive effect on teacher performance and partially mediates the relationship between work engagement and performance. These results highlight the central role of work engagement in enhancing teacher performance both directly and indirectly through self-efficacy. This study contributes to the literature by providing empirical evidence of the structural relationship among work engagement, self-efficacy, and teacher performance in the context of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, emphasizing the importance of strengthening teachers’ psychological resources to improve professional performance.
