Abstract

Purpose: This research describes how much the selection of acting regional heads by the central government does not run as per the constitutional principles, local democracy and national resilience which are through the Asta Gatra framework but more politically captured by offering a model of governance that is more accountable and participatory. Study Design/Methodology/Approach: Normative legal method with narrative review and comparative analyses of legislation, Constitutional Court decisions, and national and international academic literature to map the correlation between legal legitimacy, institutional design and regional government stability the research applies a normative legal method combined with a narrative review and comparative analyses of legislation, Constitutional Court decisions, and national and international academic literature in order to map the correlation between legal legitimacy, institutional design, and regional government stability. Findings: The findings reveal that the higher-level leadership appointment system has substantial regulatory vacancies, especially in terms of authority restriction, legislative supervision, selection transparency and performance responsibility. These contradictions are affecting the political, governance and social aspects of Asta Gatra so that it can drain the drain the power of regional legitimacy and institutional resilience. Country illustrations, like in Germany, India, and South Africa, show that support for interim leadership is normally subject to legislative endorsement and public scrutiny, with terms of office limited to democratic insurance coverage. Originality/Value: This conceptual contribution is presented to the development of an institutional design for regional leadership transitions that is more democratic and adaptive to national resilience needs. Recommendations focus on regulatory reform, involvement of the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD), and strengthening public evaluation to ensure the appointment of Acting Regional Heads aligns with substantive democratic principles and strengthens regional autonomy.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the use of pusako tinggi to finance children's education in Nagari Salingka Muaro, West Pasaman Regency. Pusako tinggi is an inherited asset from the female side that cannot be sold without the community's consent, because it serves not only as an economic asset but also as a symbol of the family's social continuity. However, in modern society, pusako tinggi is often used or even sold to meet urgent needs, including education. This study uses a qualitative, descriptive approach. The theory used is Herbert Spencer's theory of social change. Informants were purposively selected, and data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The unit of analysis was clans that sold high pusako for their children's education. Data analysis employed Miles and Huberman's interactive model. The results showed that the use of high-purpose savings accounts supported family life, particularly for children's education expenses. This reflects that Minangkabau customs prioritise education, as children are seen as inheritors of family dignity and continuity. However, the practice of utilising high-pusako for education often creates internal dilemmas and conflicts, given its communal rather than private ownership.

Abstract

The phenomenon of religious conversion in Malaysia, particularly among new Muslim students at Ma'had Aman Bistari who come from Chinese, Indian, and indigenous backgrounds, poses challenges to social integration and the formation of religious identity. This study aims to formulate a strategic da'wah model rooted in Malay culture to support inclusive integration. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation of da'wah activities. Thematic analysis revealed four key aspects of integration: social participation through community dialogue, adoption of Malay cultural symbols, horizontal relationships based on empathy, and spiritual and economic empowerment. The findings emphasize that strategic da'wah is inseparable from the socio-cultural dimensions that shape the daily interactions of converts. This study confirms that the da'wah strategy through social integration at Ma'had Tahfidz Vokasional Aman Bistari Selangor is effective in supporting the process of Malay cultural assimilation among students who convert to Islam across ethnicities. The findings indicate that da'wah practices focus not only on spiritual teachings but also on strengthening social cohesion through language, lifestyle, and inclusive cultural interactions.

Abstract

Abstract This community service program aims to enhance the literacy culture and information literacy skills of the community in Marindal II Village, Patumbak District, Deli Serdang Regency. The activity was initiated due to the community’s limited understanding of literacy, which was still confined to basic reading and writing abilities. Using the community education method, the program was carried out through socialization, training, and mentoring activities involving village officials, members of the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK), and children at the Marindal II Youth Reading Park (TBM). The implementation took place over two days, from August 22 to 23, 2025. The first day focused on raising awareness of the importance of information literacy among village officials and families, while the second day emphasized interactive reading sessions, educational games, and short story writing competitions with children at the TBM. The results indicated an improvement in the community’s understanding of information literacy concepts, their ability to evaluate the credibility of information sources, and an increase in reading and writing interest among children. Moreover, the activity successfully fostered collaboration between local government, the TBM community, and residents in creating an environment that supports a sustainable literacy culture. Therefore, strengthening literacy culture through training and information literacy mentoring serves as an effective strategy to build an intelligent, critical, and competitive society in the digital era. Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan untuk menjawab permasalahan pencemaran sampah di wilayah pesisir Sungsang, Banyuasin, yang selama ini belum memiliki sistem pengelolaan sampah yang terorganisir. Rendahnya kesadaran masyarakat, tingginya sampah anorganik yang masuk ke laut, serta belum adanya lembaga pengelola sampah menjadi isu utama yang perlu diatasi. Kegiatan dilakukan melalui pendekatan edukasi, pembentukan kelembagaan bank sampah, pelatihan daur ulang, dan digitalisasi pencatatan sampah. Program ini melibatkan 31 orang peserta yang terdiri dari perangkat desa, kelompok ibu rumah tangga, pemuda, dan komunitas nelayan. Hasil analisis SWOT menunjukkan potensi besar bagi pertumbuhan program melalui penguatan kesadaran lingkungan dan peningkatan ekonomi masyarakat. Solusi utama yang diterapkan meliputi: Edukasi lingkungan laut, untuk meningkatkan literasi dan perubahan perilaku masyarakat yang ditunjukkan oleh peningkatan tingkat pemahaman peserta hingga ≥80% berdasarkan hasil pre-test dan post-test; pembentukan Bank Sampah Sungsang, lengkap dengan SOP, alat pendukung, dan tim pengelola lokal; pelatihan pengolahan sampah, seperti pembuatan ecobrick dan kerajinan bernilai ekonomi; sistem dokumentasi digital, menggunakan spreadsheet untuk transparansi dan pelaporan. Target luaran meliputi modul edukasi, bank sampah aktif, pelatihan daur ulang, produk hasil olahan sampah, sistem pencatatan digital, serta peningkatan volume sampah terpilah. Seluruh kegiatan dirancang melalui metode partisipatif, workshop, pendampingan lapangan, dan evaluasi berkala selama enam bulan. Manfaat program bagi masyarakat antara lain meningkatnya kesadaran lingkungan, peluang ekonomi baru dari penjualan sampah dan produk kreatif, serta lingkungan pesisir yang lebih bersih. Bagi institusi desa, program ini menjadi model pengelolaan sampah berbasis komunitas. Secara keseluruhan, program ini diharapkan menjadi model yang dapat direplikasi di wilayah pesisir lainnya untuk memperkuat keberlanjutan lingkungan dan pemberdayaan masyarakat.

Abstract

Sektor pertanian, khususnya usaha tani padi, memiliki peran strategis dalam mendukung ketahanan pangan dan perekonomian nasional. Namun, rendahnya produktivitas dan efisiensi usaha tani masih menjadi permasalahan utama, terutama pada tahap panen yang sebagian besar masih dilakukan secara tradisional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan produktivitas, pendapatan, dan efisiensi usaha tani padi antara petani pengguna teknologi panen combine harvester dan petani dengan metode panen tradisional di Desa Merente, Kecamatan Alas, Kabupaten Sumbawa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode komparatif. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara purposive terhadap 30 petani padi, yang terdiri atas 15 petani pengguna combine harvester dan 15 petani tradisional. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner, wawancara, dan observasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji statistik Independent Sample t-test untuk menguji perbedaan antar kelompok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kedua kelompok petani. Produktivitas petani pengguna combine harvester lebih tinggi, yaitu sebesar 6.142,86 kg/Ha dibandingkan petani tradisional sebesar 5.528,57 kg/Ha. Biaya panen petani pengguna teknologi lebih rendah, yakni Rp 1.647.666,67, dibandingkan petani tradisional sebesar Rp 1.820.666,67. Selain itu, pendapatan bersih petani pengguna combine harvester mencapai Rp 19.108.571,43 dengan rasio efisiensi R/C sebesar 3,679, lebih tinggi dibandingkan petani tradisional yang memperoleh pendapatan Rp 16.496.666,67 dengan rasio R/C sebesar 3,134. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa teknologi panen combine harvester memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan dalam meningkatkan produktivitas, menurunkan biaya panen, serta meningkatkan pendapatan dan efisiensi usaha tani padi. Oleh karena itu, mekanisasi panen perlu terus didorong sebagai strategi peningkatan kinerja ekonomi petani dan keberlanjutan usaha tani padi.

Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan sebagai respons atas tantangan struktural yang dihadapi pembudidaya ikan di Desa Marga Sungsang, Kabupaten Banyuasin, khususnya tingginya ketergantungan terhadap pakan komersial dan belum optimalnya pemanfaatan potensi sumber daya lokal. Dalam praktik budidaya, pakan komersial menempati porsi terbesar dalam struktur biaya produksi, yakni sekitar 60–80%, sehingga berdampak pada terbatasnya margin keuntungan serta meningkatnya risiko keberlanjutan usaha. Situasi tersebut kontras dengan kondisi lingkungan setempat yang memiliki ketersediaan bahan baku lokal, seperti keong mas, limbah kepala udang, dan ikan rucah, yang sejatinya berpotensi dikembangkan sebagai pakan mandiri bernilai ekonomis namun belum dimanfaatkan secara maksimal. Kegiatan ini diarahkan untuk memperkuat kapasitas pembudidaya ikan melalui pendekatan peningkatan pengetahuan dan pemahaman konseptual, sekaligus pengembangan keterampilan dalam memproduksi pakan buatan yang efisien, bermutu, dan berbasis sumber daya lokal. Proses pelaksanaan dilakukan secara bertahap melalui pengenalan program, penyampaian materi mengenai prinsip dasar formulasi pakan dan pemanfaatan limbah lokal, diskusi partisipatif, serta evaluasi pembelajaran menggunakan instrumen pre-test dan post-test. Sebanyak 31 orang pembudidaya ikan berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan yang dilaksanakan pada 19 Oktober 2025. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman yang signifikan, tercermin dari kenaikan skor rata-rata peserta dari 49,9 sebelum kegiatan menjadi 87,3 setelah pelatihan. Selain peningkatan aspek kognitif, peserta juga memperlihatkan sikap positif dan komitmen untuk mulai mengembangkan pakan mandiri sebagai strategi pengendalian biaya produksi. Luaran kegiatan meliputi laporan kemajuan, dokumentasi pelaksanaan, serta perencanaan tindak lanjut berupa pelatihan praktik lanjutan dan pengujian mutu pakan pada periode berikutnya, dengan harapan mendorong efisiensi dan keberlanjutan usaha budidaya ikan di wilayah pesisir.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan praktikum biologi di Laboratorium Biologi SMAS Muhammadiyah Kota Jayapura sebagai bagian penting dalam mendukung pembelajaran berbasis keterampilan proses sains. Praktikum merupakan sarana yang memungkinkan peserta didik mengembangkan pemahaman konsep melalui pengalaman langsung, namun efektivitasnya sangat bergantung pada kelengkapan sarana dan prasarana laboratorium serta pengelolaannya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang dilaksanakan pada Februari–Maret 2024 dengan melibatkan Kepala Sekolah, Kepala Laboratorium, Guru Biologi, dan peserta didik dari kelas XI dan XII sebagai subjek penelitian. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi serta dianalisis menggunakan teknik reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa prasarana laboratorium biologi telah memenuhi standar ruang sesuai ketentuan nasional, namun kelengkapan sarana laboratorium masih belum memadai. Beberapa peralatan tersedia dalam jumlah terbatas, sebagian lain mengalami kerusakan, dan sejumlah alat wajib tidak tersedia sehingga menghambat pelaksanaan praktikum. Pelaksanaan praktikum hanya berlangsung satu hingga dua kali per semester dan sangat bergantung pada ketersediaan alat. Meskipun demikian, minat peserta didik terhadap praktikum tergolong tinggi, dan guru telah melaksanakan perannya dengan baik dalam mempersiapkan prosedur dan pelaksanaan kegiatan. Faktor penghambat utama adalah keterbatasan sarana, sedangkan faktor pendukung meliputi tersedianya ruang laboratorium khusus dan komitmen guru dalam memfasilitasi kegiatan. Secara keseluruhan, penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pelaksanaan praktikum biologi belum optimal dan memerlukan peningkatan sarana serta pengelolaan laboratorium agar mampu menunjang pembelajaran biologi secara maksimal. Abstract

This research is motivated by a teacher-centered learning process in which teaching learning material, presenting examples, doing exercises, and tests at the end of the meeting. Researchers strive for students to be actively involved in communication in order to obtain in-depth knowledge about the material being studied. The use of the talking stick strategy is believed to improve the ability of question and answer and student learning outcomes in science. This research was a classroom action research conducted on 29 fourth grade students of SDN 002 Benai in February 2020. The instrument used was the observation sheet and learning achievement test. The results of the study in the first cycle was the ability of question and answer students by 58.3% which is enough category then the second cycle increased to 83.3% which is included in good category. The average student learning outcomes in the first cycle was 68.6 with a classical percentage of 62% having increased in the second cycle to 76.9 with a percentage of classical completeness of 89%. The conclusion of this research is the use of the talking stick strategy can improve the ability of question and answer and student learning outcomes in class IV SDN 002 Benai on science subjects.

Abstract

Differences in curriculum characteristics between Junior High Schools (SMP) and State Islamic Senior High Schools (Madrasah Aliyah Negeri/MAN) create academic and socio-cultural adaptation challenges for SMP graduates entering madrasah education. These challenges are not merely related to students’ individual readiness but also reflect institutional limitations in managing curriculum transition within Islamic educational settings. This study aims to analyze adaptation difficulties experienced by SMP graduates, examine the role of guidance and counseling (GC) service management as part of transition management, and identify structural constraints affecting the effectiveness of GC services in MAN Purworejo. This study employs a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and analyzed using interactive data analysis techniques. The findings indicate a significant curriculum gap between SMP and MAN that affects students’ academic readiness and socio-religious adaptation. GC services have contributed to student adjustment; however, their implementation remains largely reactive and has not been fully integrated into institutional transition management. This study emphasizes the importance of strengthening GC service management within Islamic education institutions to address curriculum transition and student adaptation more systematically.
