Abstract

The rapid advancement of Internet of Things (IoT) technology has revolutionized various sectors, including smart agriculture. This study explores an IoT-driven solution to enhance plant care in terrariums by automating maintenance and optimizing growth conditions. The proposed system monitors key environmental parameters temperature, humidity, and soil moisture while automating irrigation using an ESP32 microcontroller, DHT11 and YL-69 sensors, a relay, and a mini DC pump. An Android application, developed with Android Studio and Arduino IDE, integrates the system via Firebase for real-time data access. A 14-day observation of Rombusa plant growth revealed that the optimal soil moisture level ranges between 60%–70%, averaging 65%. The findings confirm that IoT-driven plant care enhances growth efficiency and simplifies maintenance, offering a more effective alternative to traditional methods.

Abstract

Sidenreng Rappang Regency, South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia, is one of the regions with significant potential in the agricultural sector. Improving the economy through the agricultural sector needs to be balanced with the role of infrastructure, especially road networks. The purpose of this research is to determine the potential of the area based on the accessibility, connectivity and mobility of the road network with a focus on the distribution of agricultural products. The descriptive quantitative research method uses SWOT analysis with data collection from 30 respondents from the stakeholder side using a questionnaire survey. The research results based on the regional potential analysis show that rice, coconut and laying hens are the leading commodities. The analysis of the road network for the accessibility aspect shows that five out of eleven sub-districts still have poor accessibility, the connectivity aspect shows that each area is already connected, and the mobility aspect shows that the mobility index has not yet been achieved in three out of eleven sub-districts. The results of the SWOT analysis of the strategy for improving the road network based on the strengths and opportunities (SO) are as follows: improving the road network according to its roles and functions, maximising technical programmes according to the role of the regional budget (APBD), and making investments in infrastructure strengthening adapted to the region's potential.

Abstract

This study will analyze the factors that influence the choice of public transportation modes in Sudu Central Market. The study will focus on two types of transportation modes: pete-pete cars and motorcycle taxis. We used the binomial logistic regression method to identify the variables that influence user decisions in choosing between the two modes of transportation. The study surveyed 100 respondents, testing variables such as cost, travel time, comfort, safety, frequency, and accessibility. The results are clear: comfort, travel time, safety, and accessibility have a significant influence on the choice of transportation modes, with a p value <0.05. The results are clear: the more comfortable, faster, safer, and more accessible the transportation mode, the greater the chance of users choosing a pete-pete car. Conversely, costs had a negative effect, where higher costs meant less likelihood of choosing a pete-pete car. The frequency of departure had no significant impact in this regression model.

Abstract

Field Study for Empowering of Village Communities (FS-EVC/KKN-PMD) is a program of community service carried out in an interdisciplinary, institutional, and partnership manner as an implementation of the university's tri dharma. Mataram University manages the implementation of Community Empowerment KKN in villages with various themes according to the village's issues or potential. The Disaster Resilient Village (DESTANA) theme is one of the themes developed in collaboration with the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of West Nusa Tenggara Province. DESTANA KKN aims to assist village communities in preparedness and resilience against both natural and non-natural disasters. Sukadana Village in Pujut Sub-district, Central Lombok, is one of the targets of the DESTANA. Therefore, the KKN program and activities are aimed at assisting the village towards becoming a primary resilient village in five components of village resilience, namely: Quality and Access to Basic Services, Disaster Management Regulations and Policies, Prevention and Mitigation, Emergency Preparedness, and Recovery Preparedness. Based on a survey of the five components of village resilience, Sukadana Village in Pujut Sub-district, Central Lombok, is vulnerable to drought. Therefore, the implementation of activities is focused on tree planting in Bukit Kemal Muluq and disaster response socialization to the community. In addition, to sustain disaster resilience activities, a Village Climate Awareness Institution (LMSID) has been formed.

Abstract

Abstract

The future of project management in the telecommunications industry is not just a distant possibility but a rapidly approaching reality. Driven by unprecedented technological advancements and a complex project environment, this transformation is imminent. This paper explores the development of leadership competencies among project managers in this volatile landscape through a combination of transactional and transformational leadership styles in facing future challenges. Using a scenario planning methodology, the author identifies critical drivers through a PESTLE analysis. The author then employs a 2x2 matrix to categorize environments based on two key uncertainties in the telecommunications industry: project complexity and technological uncertainty. This results in a Telecommunications Project Scenario Matrix, consisting of four future scenarios, namely Stability, Complexity, Innovation, and Disruption Quadrants. These scenarios present distinct challenges and opportunities for project managers, ultimately shaping the leadership competencies required for success in combining transactional and transformational styles. The analysis suggests five leadership development actions. This insight will be valuable for academics and project management practitioners in the telecommunications industry.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the recruitment methods used by Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) practitioners and to assess the relevance and compliance of these practices with the contractual provisions outlined in DSN-MUI fatwas. Employing a qualitative research approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving MLM companies in Makassar. The findings reveal that recruitment strategies commonly involve personal selling, hypnoselling techniques, promises of success, and flexing or marketing signaling. Notably, at the closing stage, companies apply the al-Ba’i Murabahah contract with prospective members, framing it as a business partnership within the same company. However, al-Ba’i Murabahah is inherently a transactional contract and not suited for intermediation purposes. The study demonstrates that the application of DSN-MUI fatwa-based contracts in MLM recruitment has not yet fully aligned with Sharia principles, particularly in terms of intermediation contracts. The appropriate model for member recruitment should be based on Mudharabah, where prospective members contribute effort, time, and skills to product distribution without initial capital investment. This study offers a novel critique of fatwa implementation in the context of MLM operations, highlighting the juridical disconnect between theoretical contract types and actual recruitment practices. The findings have practical implications for Sharia supervisory bodies and MLM operators to realign recruitment mechanisms with valid intermediation contracts, ensuring greater compliance with Islamic commercial ethics.

Abstract

Violation of workers' rights in Indonesia is a central issue in labor relations Commonly violations of workers' rights demand the existence of the Confederation of Trade Unions as an organization formed from, by, and for workers both in the company and outside the company, which is free, open, independent, democratic, and responsible to fight for, defend and protect the rights and interests and welfare of workers. For this reason, this research is oriented in the form of normative empirical research that seeks to observe the provisions of laws and regulations from the aspects of the rights and obligations of workers and employers along with law enforcement and direct observations in the Confederation of Maros Trade Unions in their role defending the rights and interests of workers in Maros Regency. The conclusion in this study is that labor relations outline the existence of inseparable rights and obligations as a definite causality, so disputes over rights and obligations between workers and employers require law enforcement that can be pursued outside the court through Bipartite settlements and mediation and litigation settlements through judicial institutions. In addition, the existence of KSPI Maros plays a very important role in industrial relations and efforts to resolve labor rights disputes through Bipartite, mediation and courts.
