Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of character education in early childhood through social interaction and the introduction of counting. Character education at an early age is very important in shaping moral, ethical and social values that become the foundation of a child's personality. Through a qualitative method with a literature study approach, this research analyzes various findings regarding character education obtained from various related studies. The results show that character education can be strengthened through social interaction activities such as group games, collaborative projects and daily activities that involve values such as cooperation, responsibility and empathy. In addition, the early introduction of numeracy also plays a role in supporting children's character development, as numeracy teaches children to think critically, solve problems and work together in facing challenges. Project-based learning is proven to be effective in integrating numeracy and character. This study also found the importance of parents and teachers in supporting children's character development at home and at school. The conclusion of this study confirms that character education through social interaction and numeracy can create a generation that is smart, has integrity, and is ready to face life's challenges.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop an AR book, PETANI (Introduction to Indonesian Food Plants), that can help teachers introduce local Indonesian food plants to prevent stunting. This research is a development project utilizing the ADDIE model, which comprises the Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The subjects in this study included learning media experts, learning material experts, and 29 teachers from Banyuwangi Regency. The data collection technique used was a questionnaire administered during validation and user trials. The result of this research is that AR Book PETANI has been developed to the needs of children’s knowledge about local food plants. Additionally, AR Book PETANI is reported to be highly feasible, with an average score of 97.05%, making it suitable for implementation in learning about local food crops at PAUD institutions. This research concludes that the AR Book, with a theme of local food, has been developed as a medium to help teachers introduce local food and prevent stunting. The study’s results confirm the importance of utilizing augmented reality technology in learning media to support nutrition education and optimize the potential of local food as a strategy for preventing stunting from an early age.

Abstract

Pendidikan anak usia dini merupakan lembaga pra-sekolah yang mempunyai tujuan untuk mengembangkan beberapa aspek anak usia dini, salah satunya perkembangan aspek bahasanya. Pada perkembangan bahasa, stimulus yang dapat diberikan pada anak adalah kemampuan membaca awal. Hasil observasi terdapat 10 dari 20 anak usia 5-6 tahun atau anak yang berada di kelompok B masih kurang optimal dalam membaca. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui proses kemampuan membaca awal anak serta memberikan gambaran metode yang digunakan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca awal untuk anak usia 5-6 tahun. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan bentuk rancangan menggunakan Quasi Experimental dengan jenis Non Equivalent Control Group. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 10 anak kelas eksperimen dan 10 anak kelas kontrol pada kelompok B. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan, yaitu observasi. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji Mann Whitney U Test dengan bantuan program SPSS 26. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan diperoleh data dengan nilai Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) 0,023. Jika nilai Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) adalah 0,023 lebih kecil dari 0,05, maka keputusan uji Mann Whitney U Test adalah menerima Ha dan menolak Ho. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode bernyanyi pola KVKV Berbeda berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan membaca awal anak usia 5-6 tahun di TK Hidayatullah Surabaya. Hal ini dikarenakan adanya perbedaan pada kemampuan membaca awal anak antara kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol. Kata kunci: Kemampuan membaca awal, Metode bernyanyi

Abstract

This qualitative research explores the impact of storytelling activities on early literacy development among children aged 5–6 years at TK Islam Al Baqy, Gresik. Storytelling, as an interactive pedagogical tool, is increasingly recognized for its potential to foster foundational literacy skills in early childhood education. The study aimed to examine how structured storytelling sessions contribute to children’s listening, vocabulary, verbal expression, and comprehension abilities. Data were collected through classroom observations and semi-structured interviews with teachers and parents, and were analyzed thematically. The study involved 20 children and 4 teachers as participants. Findings indicate that storytelling significantly enhanced children's attentiveness, language confidence, and narrative thinking. Children engaged actively during storytelling sessions and demonstrated improved ability to retell stories, respond verbally, and use newly introduced vocabulary in daily communication. Moreover, storytelling facilitated socio-emotional development by nurturing empathy, imagination, and cooperative interaction among peers. Teachers reported that students became more motivated and expressive in classroom activities after consistent exposure to storytelling. The study concludes that storytelling is an effective, accessible, and developmentally appropriate method for promoting literacy in early learners. Despite its limited scope—focused on one school and a short observation period—this research provides empirical insights into the pedagogical integration of storytelling. It recommends wider adoption of storytelling in early childhood curricula and further investigation into its long-term effects. This study contributes to the growing body of knowledge on narrative-based learning and reinforces storytelling’s role as a vital strategy for fostering early literacy and holistic development in young children.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh model pembelajaran tipe jigsaw kooperatif terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas V di SDN Wonokerto 1. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-experiment dengan one group pretest-posttest. Populasi penelitian melibatkan seluruh siswa SDN Wonokerto 1, sementara sampel diambil menggunakan probability sampling dengan jumlah siswa kelas V sebanyak 26 orang. Uji prasyarat melibatkan uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas varian. Data dinyatakan berdistribusi normal dan homogen, memenuhi kriteria signifikansi 5%. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan one sampel t-test, dan hasilnya menunjukkan adanya pengaruh signifikan pada hasil belajar matematika setelah penerapan model jigsaw kooperatif. Nilai Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 lebih kecil dari 0,05, dan t-hitung (11.140) melebihi t-tabel (0.684) pada taraf signifikansi 0,05/2. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran tipe jigsaw kooperatif memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas V SDN Wonokerto 1. Hasil ini dapat menjadi pedoman bagi pendidik dan peneliti dalam meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran matematika melalui pendekatan kooperatif.

Abstract

This study investigated the effectiveness of an intervention aimed at enhancing early childhood education (PAUD) teachers' understanding and application of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and PJBL (Project-Based Learning). The intervention included professional development sessions, followed by pre-test and post-test assessments. Results indicated significant improvements in teachers' knowledge and pedagogical skills. The teachers' modules, created post-intervention, covered diverse themes such as disaster mitigation, resource management, and environmental conservation, reflecting their ability to integrate STEM and PJBL into engaging activities. The significant increase in post-test scores demonstrated the intervention's success in equipping teachers with the necessary skills to design and implement STEM-based learning using the PJBL approach. These findings suggest that such interventions are effective in enhancing early childhood educators' capabilities, ultimately benefiting young learners by providing them with enriching, real-life applicable educational experiences. This study highlights the importance of continuous professional development in advancing educational practices.

Abstract

Low numeracy skills in early childhood remain a significant issue in children's education. One contributing factor is the lack of innovative and engaging learning media aligned with children's cognitive development stages. To address this problem, this research developed an educational game called PERANGKA (Number Train Game) as a learning medium to improve numeracy skills in early childhood. This study used a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The game was developed based on Piaget's cognitive development theory, which emphasizes the importance of using concrete and visual media in children's learning. Additionally, Mayer's multimedia theory was applied in designing the game elements. The research subjects were Group B children aged 5–6 years at Kindergarten Labschool Unesa 1 Surabaya. Data collection techniques included observation, expert validation questionnaires, and practicality assessments. The results showed that material experts gave a score of 93%, media experts 94%, and the practicality score from teachers was 90%. These findings indicate that the PERANGKA educational game is a feasible, effective, and engaging alternative learning medium for enhancing numeracy skills in early childhood.

Abstract

Sekolah merupakan rumah kedua bagi anak. Sangatlah penting mewujudkan sekolah sebagai lingkungan ramah anak. Kelas ramah anak ialah perwujudan sekolah ramah anak di mana sebagian besar interaksi guru dan anak terjadi di kelas. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kajian kepustakaan (literature review). Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang kelas ramah anak pada pendidikan anak usia dini. Untuk bahan kajian, peneliti memilih Peraturan Menteri tentang sekolah ramah anak dan artikel-artikel dalam kurun waktu sepuluh tahun terakhir dengan kata kunci: sekolah ramah anak; lingkungan ramah anak; kelas; TK; dan PAUD. Data-data yang didapatkan dianalisis sesuai topik yang ditentukan dalam penelitian. Setelah itu hasil analisis disajikan dalam tulisan yang terorganisir. Enam komponen penting dalam kelas ramah anak adalah kebijakan sekolah ramah anak, pelaksanaan kurikulum, pendidik dan tenaga kependidikan terlatih hak-hak anak, sarana dan prasarana yang aman dan raah anak, keterlibatan anak, serta partisipasi orang tua dan masyarakat. Kelas ramah anak dapat menstimulasi pertumbuhan dan perkembangan peserta didik.

Abstract

This article examines the effectiveness of child protection policies in the digital era. The purpose of this literature review is to evaluate the implementation and impact of existing policies in protecting children from potential dangers in the digital environment. Data collection and analysis techniques for a literature review involve identifying, selecting, critically evaluating, and synthesizing relevant information from various trusted sources to answer specific research questions. The results of the study indicate that although there have been efforts to protect children in a regulatory manner, there are still challenges in effective enforcement and supervision. The gap between policies and implementation in the field, as well as the lack of collaboration across stakeholders are the main issues that need attention. This study concludes that there is a need to review and improve child protection policies in the digital era, as well as strengthen synergy between government, industry, and society to create a safe digital environment for children.

Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan hak dasar yang harus dipenuhi oleh setiap negara termasuk mendapatkan pendidikan yang aman dan ramah bagi anak. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif untuk menganalisis kebijakan hukum dan HAM terkait implementasi konsep sekolah ramah anak. Data diunggulkan dengan teknik wawancara dan observasi di berbagai sekolah yang telah mengadopsi kebijakan ini. Hasil pertanian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun terdapat kemajuan dalam penerapan kebijakan sekolah ramah anak namun masih banyak sekolah yang memiliki lingkungan bullying, kekerasan fisik dan psikologi serta perannya partisipasi anak dalam pengambilan keputusan. Maka hal ini sangat penting untuk keterlibatan dari beberapa sekunder dalam menciptakan lingkungan pendidikan yang mendukung perkembangan anak dan menjadi kunci utama untuk memastikan keberhasilan dari implementasi ini. Penelitian ini menekankan perlunya peningkatan sumber daya, pelatihan bagi tenaga pendidik, serta program mendukung kesejahteraan psikologis dan emosional siswa dalam mencapai lingkungan sekolah yang benar-benar ramah anak.
