Abstract

This research was motivated by the low creative thinking skills of children at DWP Kemangsen Kindergarten. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of implementing fun cooking activities on the creative thinking skills of children aged 5-6 years at DWP Kemangsen Kindergarten. This study used a quantitative experimental approach with a Quasi-Experimental Design with a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The sample and population in this study were all children aged 5-6 years at DWP Kemangsen Kindergarten, divided into two classes, each with 20 children. The data collection technique used was an observation sheet. The collected data consisted of pre-test and post-test scores from the control group and the experimental group, which received treatment through fun cooking activities in three sessions, each with a different fun cooking activity. The data were then analyzed and hypothesis tested using a Paired Sample T-Test. The analysis results showed a significance value <0.001, with a Sig. value of 0.001 less than 0.005, therefore, H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. This indicates a significant change in the experimental group. The most significant improvement was in the fluency indicator, which is the child's ability to ask and answer many questions during the learning process. By rejecting H0 and accepting Ha, it can be concluded that the fun cooking treatment has an effect on the creative thinking skills of 5-6 year old children at DWP Kemangsen Kindergarten

Abstract

Prosocial behavior and digital literacy are critical domains in early childhood development but remain under-stimulated due to limited instructional media. This study evaluates the feasibility and effectiveness of the GIMALONG interactive video, designed to foster sharing, collaboration, and helping behaviors while enhancing digital literacy in children aged 5ÔÇô6 years. Using a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model, the product underwent expert validation and was tested through individual (2 children), small group (8 children), and large group (25 children) trials. Data were collected via observation, questionnaires, and pretest-posttest instruments, then analyzed using the N-Gain formula. The results showed high effectiveness, with N-Gain scores for prosocial behavior and digital literacy consistently in the high category across all phasesÔÇöindividual (0.8617; 0.8574), small group (0.8853; 0.8376), and large group (0.8394; 0.8142). These findings support the use of GIMALONG as a feasible and impactful tool to support character and digital competency development in early learning environments.┬á┬á

Abstract

The development of logical thinking skills and spatial visual intelligence in children aged 4ÔÇô5 years is essential for fostering early understanding of geometric concepts. Many children at this stage still experience difficulties recognizing basic geometric shapes such as squares, rectangles, triangles, and circles, along with identifying concrete examples from their surroundings. This study aims to develop and examine the MEGA (Media Edukasi Geometri Anak) application as a varied alternative learning medium to stimulate these abilities. The research applies a Research and Development (R&D) model with a one-group pretest-posttest design. A total of 25 children aged 4ÔÇô5 years from Kindergarten Muslimat Kabuh were involved, with data gathered through observational research activities. The effectiveness of the application was analyzed using the N-gain test. Results indicate that the application effectively enhances logical thinking, enabling children to better recognize and distinguish geometric shapes. Furthermore, spatial visual intelligence develops, as children become able to identify colors, name vertical and horizontal lines within geometric drawings, and relate real-world objects to their geometric forms. These findings highlight meaningful improvements in childrenÔÇÖs cognitive and spatial abilities after engaging with the MEGA application, showing its potential as an alternative learning medium in early childhood educational settings.┬á

Abstract

Peer guidance is a method that provides opportunities for students to share the students’ knowledge with their peers and help their peers based on the skills the students have. Tutors are given the responsibility of helping the students in learning when they encounter difficulties in learning. The relationship between the students and their peers is closer than the teacher and the students and something that students are given to their peers usually could give a better effect than not given since the language used was easy to understand by using their own language. Peers refer to close friends or best friends. Qualitative research methodsdescribed in this article are used to know in detail the events experienced by the subjects either descriptively or thoroughly in the form of sentences. The method used was very effective for students and the teacher in which students were not bored and the teacher was not monotonous in teaching. The factor that affects peer guidance came from the same age level, which allowed children to have the same interest, talks, and activities in order to encourage friendship relationships with peers. Active learning is an activity in which students directly, intellectually, and emotionally play an important role and participate actively in learning. Active learning is an active learning system that refers to independent learning. The inhibiting factor and difficulty frequently occurred in active learning are how to solve the differences on the student characteristics.
