Abstract

The hospital is a place with a high degree of contamination, many pathogen germs that are in the environment are carried into the hospital and spread through activities in the hospital. About 10-20% of Nosocomial infections are caused by poor air quality. Initial observations obtained from RSIA Eria Bunda show that the Hospital Operating Room is still not in accordance with environmental health standards. Other observations obtained are inadequate lighting and humidity. Various physical environmental conditions that have not been optimal will be at risk of becoming a place of growth and development of bacteria. The growth of bacteria in the air that exceeds the standard will cause air quality to be not good, so it will cause health problems for both patients and hospital medical personnel. Based on this phenomenon, an environmental management strategy is needed in the Operation room to monitor air quality in the Operating Room. This research was carried out with a mixed research approach with survey methods, data collection was carried out by direct observation, measuring the temperature and humidity of the operating room and filling out questionnaires to find out the comfort of officers while working. After that, the determination of operating room management strategies on environmentally sound surgical installations using SWOT Analysis is carried out. The result of the study is that the measurement of Humidity and Lighting parameters is still below the operating room quality standards while the temperature parameters and air germ numbers are above the threshold of quality standards based on Permenkes No. 7 of 2019. For the results of the SWOT analysis RSIA Eria Bunda is in a strong internal position and responds to the opportunities that exist to avoid threats. The strategy used by S-O is to increase management capacity in carrying out supervision, improving the quality and maintenance of space, and improving education and information to employees.

Abstract

Doctors practicing their profession are entitled to legal protection as stipulated in Article 50 of Law Number 29 of 2004 concerning Medical Practice. Hospitals must provide legal protection for doctors working in their hospitals by the hospital's obligations regulated in Article 29 paragraph (1) letter (s) of Law Number 44 of 2009 concerning Hospitals. In Indonesia, a statutory regulation has not explicitly regulated legal protection for doctors. This Literature Review discusses legal protection that hospitals can provide to doctors in practicing medicine. The form of preventive legal protection for doctors by hospitals is in the form of guarantees of legal protection, legal administration, authority for professional practice/clinical care, regulation of clinical practice, quality of medical services, provision of quality health service facilities and infrastructure and stipulation of prohibitions and sanctions. Forms of repressive legal protection for doctors by hospitals are handling complaints and claims, investigations, settlements, and financing of medical dispute cases. Legal certainty regarding the provision of legal protection must be included in the Hospital By-Laws. With legal certainty and regulations regarding legal protection, doctors will be protected and increase loyalty to hospitals.

Abstract

Severe malaria is a disease caused by Plasmodium falciparum as the main cause of death in malaria. As autopsy examinations on malaria are rare in Indonesia, we report a nineteen-year-old male from Dumai, Indonesia, who died of severe malaria on November 10th 2018, at Dumai Regional General Hospital of Riau Province. The diagnosis was concluded from autopsy, histopathology and toxicology. This case report aimed to explain autopsy findings in severe malaria. As the result of external examination, we found some bruises on the right earlobe, lip mucosa and lower leg; excoriations on the neck, both arms and right lower leg; excoriations on the right lower leg and blood infiltration in the connective tissue on the right intercostal space. The autopsy and histopathology examination showed signs of congestion and hemozoin pigment in the brain, small intestine, liver, lung, heart, kidney, stomach and spleen. On toxicology examination, there was no narcotic substance found. Based on autopsy findings, histopathology and toxicological findings, we conclude that the cause of death, in this case, was severe malaria. Blunt violence to the ears, lips, neck, arms, and legs did not significantly cause death.

This activity aims to increase community empowerment through education about nutrition and its disorders, STH infestation, and its impact on growth and development. In addition, the nutritional status of the children living in the orphanage will be checked. This activity found that most of the orphanage residents had a low level of knowledge about nutritional disorders and worm infestations, 48.84%. The results of the nutritional status examination showed that most of the orphanage residents had normal nutritional status, but 21.15% were still undernourished.

This study was conducted in September-November 2022 with a total of 100 respondents. The sample selection technique used was simple random sampling from 4 RWs. Data collection was carried out using guided interviews with 4 questions to respondents who used insecticides. Data analysis was carried out using univariate analysis. This study showed that almost all respondents (98%) used household insecticides, the most widely used type of formulation was aerosol (51%), active ingredient was dimeflutrin 0.02%; cypermethrin 0.10% (25.5%), used once a day (75.5%) and used at night (98%). Improper use of household insecticides can have negative effects on the environment, humans, and the occurrence of resistance.
