Abstract

Adolescents are defined as young people aged 10-19 years.   Adolescents experience rapid growth and development, and are included in a group that is vulnerable to nutritional problems, so they need to get the attention of many parties. This increasing lack of physical activity is a health problem that needs attention and can be addressed immediately. Lack of physical activity has also been identified as a risk factor for chronic disease. As an effort to prevent nutritional problems, this research was carried out to find out factors related to nutritional problems, one of which was adolescent physical activity among MTS students as many as 14 respondents at the Ainul Yaqin Orphanage, Jambi City. The results of the research showed that all respondents fell into the category of early adolescence, 100% of the respondents were male (50%) and 7 respondents were female (50%). Based on the level of physical activity of teenagers, the average number of respondents had a light physical activity level of 9 respondents (64.3%) and 5 respondents had a moderate level of physical activity (35.7%), there were no respondents with a heavy physical activity level. The conclusion in this study was that the majority of respondents, namely 9 respondents, had low levels of physical activity (64.3%). It is recommended that partners continue to motivate teenagers to increase their daily physical activity, so that their health status can be optimal. Future researchers can carry out further research with different variables and methods in efforts to prevent nutritional problems. The targeted output is scientific publication in accredited national journals.

Abstract

Technology significantly influences education. Emodules designed to be visually appealing, functional, and efficient, accessible on smartphones, laptops, or desktops, offer convenience for both educators and learners during the educational process. This research seeks to evaluate the development approach, practicality, efficiency, and effectiveness of emodules oriented towards ethnochemistry that focus on corrosion topics, aiming to enhance students' critical thinking abilities. The product development for this study adheres to the steps outlined in the Lee and Owens development framework. The research utilized interview forms and student needs assessment surveys as tools for gathering information. Data analysis included qualitative techniques for gathering suggestions and feedback, as well as quantitative methods for evaluating scores. Findings from the study indicated that the ethnochemistrybased emodules were both conceptually and procedurally viable, as determined by evaluations from material and media specialists, achieving average scores of 4. 94 and 4. 53, categorizing them as very feasible. Feedback from chemistry educators resulted in a favorable percentage of 92. 22% (very feasible), alongside positive student reactions reflected in a 93. 2% approval rating. Furthermore, the assessment of critical thinking skills revealed a 70% satisfaction level, indicating favorable responses to the emodule from students. In conclusion, the research findings suggest that the developed emodule focused on corrosion and based on ethnochemistry is both valid and suitable for educational use, supported by positive student feedback.

Abstract

The authenticity of the Quran and Sunnah is a controversial issue among Islamic studies scholars, and the answer to this question is a complex topic related to religious sensitivity. David Powers' research on the authenticity of the Islamic law of inheritance in his work "Studies in Qur'an and Hadith: The Formulation of the Islamic Law of Inheritance" is a fact that needs to be re-examined by investigating Powers' literature and thoughts, both pro and contra, from insiders and outsiders. Powers found differences between the law of inheritance accepted by Muhammad (Proto Islamic Law) and the Islamic Law of Inheritance. He expressed his disbelief in the sources of Islamic tradition in criticizing the interpretations of early generations. He even harshly criticized the supporting sciences of interpretation, such as the science of mansukh naskh, the science of qirā'āt, and asbāb al-nuzūl. According to him, these sciences were used to manipulate interpretations that should have been the interpretations they adopted under certain political conditions in early Islam. This article focuses on the authenticity of the historical reconstruction of the transformation of Islamic inheritance law in Powers' work, especially Proto Islamic Law and Islamic Law of Inheritance.

Abstract

Different species of marine macroalgae have been reported to demonstrate antimicrobial activities against numerous bacteria, with varying results. According to the studies, other antibiotics have been used as positive controls. This study evaluated the effect of crude extracts and sulphated polysaccharides from Chlorophyta, Phaeophyta, and Rhodophyta in inhibiting bacterial growth in terms of the diameter of inhibition zones (DIZ) using a systematic review and meta-analysis approach. A total of 835 data, extracted from 23 selected articles, were analyzed using OpenMeesoftware by comparing the standardized mean difference (SMD) and 95% confidence interval (CI). The largest DIZ that Chlorophyta showed was 35 mm, Phaeophyta was 27.3 mm, and Rhodophyta was 25.66 mm, which was categorized as a very strong activity. The crude extract revealed a better inhibitory activity than the sulphatedpolysaccharides. The overall effect size for crude extracts was with SMD = -1.72 (CI = -1.96 to -1.48, I2 = 84.65%, p 0.000) and for sulphated polysaccharides with SMD = -13.07 (CI = -16.00 to -10.14, I2 = 85.8%, p 0.000), respectively. Subgroup analysis showed that when ciprofloxacin was used, the SMD value was -12.88 (CI = -14.50 to -11.25), whereas if ampicillin was used, the SMD value was 1.81 (CI = 1.27 to 2.35). This study proved that Chlorophyta, Phaeophyta, and Rhodophyta revealed promising antibacterial activities. However, the overall effect size was affectedby the antibiotic used when comparing the SMD of the DIZ using a meta-analysis approach. Other factors, such as extraction methods and bacterial strains that likely affect the overall effect size, are subjected to further analysis in the next study.
