Abstract

The validity of assessment instruments is a crucial element in educational research, particularly in evaluating the success of a learning model. In developing an integrated STEM inquiry learning model, it is necessary first to validate the assessment instruments to ensure they can effectively measure the desired learning outcomes, including both academic knowledge and the 21st-century skills developed by students. This study evaluates the validity of the instruments used to assess the feasibility of the integrated STEM inquiry model, which includes the model book, teacher's book, student's book, and a 21st-century skills assessment instrument. The instruments were validated through expert judgment involving three validators: an educational expert in evaluation, a STEM curriculum developer, and a language and communication practitioner. The instruments were assessed using a five-point Likert scale, and the data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to determine content, construct, and criterion validity. The results show that the 21st-century skills instrument scored 0.89, the model book scored 0.84, the student book scored 0.87, and the teacher book scored 0.86, all falling into the very high validity category. These findings indicate that the instruments are appropriate and reliable for measuring both academic competencies and essential 21st-century skills such as problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration. The study concludes that employing valid assessment instruments is essential for the effective implementation of the integrated STEM inquiry model and for ensuring its success in fostering the holistic development of students. The findings also highlight the importance of instrument validation in educational settings to ensure that learning models achieve their intended outcomes and prepare students for future challenges.

Abstract

It has been almost two years that learning has been carried out online, resulting in students being less social and learning is dominated by individual learning. Therefore, it is necessary to apply group learning to overcome this. However, these lessons cannot be simply applied and need to be analyzed. One of these analyzes is to find out the responses of students and teachers. The purpose of this study was to describe the perceptions of teachers regarding cooperative learning during online distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research is a descriptive research using survey method. The research instrument was in the form of a questionnaire filled out by 71 teacher respondents. The results showed that several important aspects of cooperative learning were the number of group members, group determination, the media used, and group assessment.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the reading comprehension skills of biography texts among tenth-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Ampek Angkek who were taught using the gamification method and those who were taught without using the method, as well as to determine the effect of the gamification method on students’ reading comprehension skills. This research employed an experimental approach using a Quasi Experimental Design with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population consisted of 352 tenth-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Ampek Angkek in the 2025/2026 academic year. The samples were selected through purposive sampling, namely class X.E1 as the experimental class and class X.E3 as the control class, each consisting of 35 students. Data were collected using an objective multiple-choice test and analyzed using percentage formulas, mean scores, prerequisite tests, a t-test, and N-gain calculations. The results show that students taught using the gamification method achieved higher reading comprehension skills than those taught through conventional learning. The independent sample t-test result indicates that tcount (2.87) > ttable (2.00) at a significance level of 0.05

Abstract

This study aims to describe students’ explanatory text writing skills taught using local phenomena through the Think Talk Write (TTW) model, students’ writing skills without using local phenomena, and the differences between the two groups. This research used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method using a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population consisted of ninth-grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang Panjang in the 2025/2026 academic year. The sample included an experimental class and a control class. Data were collected through a performance test of writing explanatory texts. Data analysis was conducted using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and t-tests. The results showed that students taught using local phenomena through the Think Talk Write model had higher explanatory writing skills than those taught using conventional learning. The t-test results indicated a significant effect (tcount 2.14 > ttable 2.04). Therefore, the use of local phenomena through the Think Talk Write model effectively improves students’ explanatory text writing skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis minat masyarakat dalam menabung pada produk tabungan di BMT Insan Madani serta meninjau fenomena tersebut dalam perspektif maqashid syariah. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif untuk memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih mendalam mengenai faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi minat masyarakat dalam memanfaatkan layanan keuangan syariah. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui wawancara dengan pihak BMT Insan Madani, dokumentasi produk tabungan, serta observasi terhadap aktivitas layanan keuangan yang dilakukan oleh lembaga tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa minat masyarakat dalam menabung dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor utama, yaitu tingkat literasi keuangan syariah, kualitas pelayanan lembaga, keberagaman produk tabungan, serta faktor lingkungan, gaya hidup, dan peran keluarga dalam membentuk kebiasaan menabung sejak dini. BMT Insan Madani menyediakan berbagai produk tabungan seperti tabungan pendidikan, haji dan umrah, qurban, pernikahan, serta tabungan anak yang dirancang untuk membantu masyarakat dalam merencanakan kebutuhan keuangan di masa depan. Dalam perspektif maqashid syariah, keberadaan produk-produk tabungan tersebut tidak hanya memberikan manfaat ekonomi, tetapi juga berkontribusi dalam mewujudkan kemaslahatan masyarakat, khususnya dalam menjaga harta (ḥifẓ al-māl), menjaga agama (ḥifẓ al-dīn), serta mendukung perencanaan keluarga dan pendidikan (ḥifẓ al-nasl dan ḥifẓ al-‘aql). Dengan demikian, pemanfaatan produk tabungan di BMT Insan Madani dapat mendorong pengelolaan keuangan yang lebih bijak serta mendukung terciptanya kesejahteraan masyarakat yang berkelanjutan sesuai dengan prinsip-prinsip syariah.

Abstract

The fundamental background of this study is that researchers want to pilot the use of discovery learning models, whether discovery learning models can be an effective alternative in closing the weaknesses of models that have been used before or vice versa. This study was conducted with the aim of determining the effect of the discovery learning model on the text writing skills of observation reports of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 24 Padang. Thisstudy researchers used experimental research methods to reveal cause-and-effect relationships with hypotheses. This research uses a research design or design in the form of one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study is grade VII students of SMP Negeri 24 Padang who are registered for 2022-2023 which amounts to 254. Based on data analysis and previous discussions, several results can be presented. First, the skill of writing the text of the observation report of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 24 Padang before using the discovery learning model obtained a number of 66.38 with a classification of "More than Enough". Second, the skill of writing the text of the observation report of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 24 Padang after using the discovery learning model obtained an average score of 87.99 with a classification of "Very Good". Third, there is a significant influence in the use of the discovery learning model on the ability to write text reports of observations of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 24 Padang. This is evidenced by the increase in the average score of writing the text of student observation reports before and after using the discovery learning model. Based on the results of the t-test, it was concluded that there was a significant influence in the use of the discovery learning model on the skill of writing the text of the observation report of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 24 Padang, because the significance value of the ≤ from the t-test table. Thus, accepted and rejected. So, there is a significant influence on the use of the discovery learning model in learning to write text reports of observations of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 24 Padang.

Abstract

This research aims to explain the influence of the group investigation method assisted by audiovisual media and the expository method on writing skills. This type of research is quantitative research with experimental methods. The experimental design used is factorial design. Sampling was carried out using a purposive sample technique. The instruments used to collect data were performance tests and questionnaire sheets. Based on the research conducted, it was concluded that the group investigation method assisted by audiovisual media influenced the news text writing skills of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 2 Padang Panjang. This media can be used by teachers in other writing lessons.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan pengaruh metode group investigation berbantuan media audiovisual dan metode ekspositori terhadap keterampilan menulis. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen. Desain eksperimen yang digunakan adalah factorial design. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sample. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data berupa tes unjuk kerja dan lembar angket. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa metode group investigation berbantuan media audiovisual memengaruhi keterampilan menulis teks berita siswa kelas kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Padang Panjang. Media ini dapat digunakan oleh para guru pada pembelajaran menulis lainnya.

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode Problem Based Learning (PBL). Bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya peningkatan hasil sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan metode pembelajaran PQRST. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan desain one group pretest – posttes. skor dianalisis dengan Liliefors serta dengan menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji-t. Berdasarkan hasil One Group Pretest – Posttes dan Uji Hipotesis diperoleh bahwa rata-rata nilai keterampilan membaca cerpen setelah menggunakan metode PQRST lebih tinggi dibandingkan nilai rata-rata keterampilan membaca cerpen sebelum menggunakan metode PQRST. Berdasarkan hasil uji-t, dapat disimpulkan bahwa hipotesis penelitian (H1) diterima pada taraf signifikansi 95% dan dk = (32+32) – 2 karena thitung > ttabel (3>1,69). Dengan kata lain metode PQRST berpengaruh dalam pembelajaran keterampilan membaca teks cerpen siswa kelas IX.8 SMP Negeri 1 Batang Anai.

Abstract

Penelitian ini didasari oleh permasalahan dalam menulis teks prosedur yang dialami siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 24 Padang. Pada penelitian ini pembelajaran menulis teks prosedur dilakukan dengan menerapkan model example non-example. Hal ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 24 Padang dalam menulis teks prosedur setelah menggunakan model example non-example. Jenis penelitian ini, yaitu true experimental design. Terkait dengan desain tersebut, maka diterapkan posttest only control design pada penelitian ini. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, maka pada penelitian ini digunakan 2 kelas, yakni kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen dengan jumlah 68 siswa sebagai sampel penelitian. Dilihat dari pemerolehan nilai rata-rata tes kemampuan menulis teks prosedur, siswa dari kelas eksperimen mendapatkan nilai rata-rata sebesar 86,58, sedangkan siswa dari kelas kontrol mendapatkan nilai rata-rata sebesar 69,30. Hasil uji-t membuktikan bahwa nilai thitung > ttabel (5,38>1,67) sehingga hipotesis alternatif (H1) diterima pada derajat kebebasan (dk)=(34+34)-2 dan taraf signifikan 95%. Maka dari itu, dapat dikatakan bahwa model example non-example berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan menulis teks prosedur siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 24 Padang.
