Abstract

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are the backbone of the Indonesian economy, but only 15.7% have successfully penetrated the global market due to limited human resources (HR) and cross-sector collaboration (BPS, 2023). This study aims to analyse the role of collaborative HR initiatives in opening global market access for MSMEs in East Java, using a quantitative approach with AMOS-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) on a sample of 150 MSMEs. The results of the analysis show that HR collaboration across sectors (government, private sector, academia) has a significant effect on improving global market access , while self-training is not significant. The findings strengthen the Resource-Based View theory by emphasising collaborative HR as a strategic asset of MSMEs. Practical implications include integrated policy recommendations and partnerships with global platforms (e.g., Amazon, Alibaba), as well as ethical considerations related to programme inclusivity and MSME data protection. This research makes a theoretical contribution to the development of an adaptive HR collaboration model for MSMEs in developing countries.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to systematically investigate the influence of transformational, transactional, and servant leadership styles on employee job satisfaction, with organizational culture serving as an intervening variable. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method was adopted, sourcing literature from Scopus-indexed journals (Q1–Q4) published between 2020 and 2025. The analysis employed descriptive, thematic, and content-based approaches. The results reveal that transformational and servant leadership styles significantly enhance affective and psychosocial dimensions of job satisfaction, while transactional leadership is more effective within structured organizational environments. Furthermore, organizational culture functions as a strategic mediator that strengthens these relationships. These findings highlight the critical importance of aligning leadership styles with organizational culture to foster inclusive, sustainable leadership practices and contribute to the realization of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to decent work and economic growth.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of flexible work arrangements (FWA) and job autonomy (JA) on job performance (JP), examining work engagement (WE) as a mediating variable. The research was conducted among permanent production employees at PT Pabrik Kertas Tjiwi Kimia, Tbk in Indonesia, using a quantitative approach with an explanatory design. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that JA has a positive and significant influence on JP, both directly and indirectly through WE. However, FWA does not have a significant direct influence on JP but indirectly affects JP through WE. These findings highlight the importance of JA in enhancing intrinsic motivation and performance, as well as the role of WE in connecting job resources with performance outcomes. The study emphasizes the need to balance flexibility with structure in job design to optimize employee engagement and performance in a manufacturing environment.

Abstract

This study provides a comprehensive examination of how employee well-being, burnout, and work-life balance influence employee productivity, with job satisfaction incorporated as a mediating variable within the high-intensity manufacturing environment of PT Pabrik Kertas Tjiwi Kimia Tbk. Employing a quantitative explanatory design and Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), the study analyzed responses from 218 employees from supply chain division who were selected through random sampling. The findings reveal that employee well-being and work-life balance have significant positive effects on productivity, whereas burnout has a significant negative effect. Job satisfaction operates as a key mediator, strengthening the effects of well-being and work-life balance while buffering the detrimental impact of burnout. Theoretically, the results reinforce the relevance of Job Demands–Resources Theory and Social Exchange Theory in explaining psychosocial mechanisms underlying work performance. Practically, the study highlights the need for well-being-oriented management strategies, burnout

Abstract

Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) refers to voluntary behavior exhibited by employees that goes beyond their formal job descriptions and contributes positively to the overall effectiveness of the organization. This study aims to analyze the influence of Servant Leadership and Work Motivation on Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) with Job Satisfaction as a mediating variable among employees of PT Karya Usaha Baru. The research employed an explanatory research design, with a population consisting of 1,500 non-managerial employees. A total of 306 respondents were selected as samples, and data were collected using online questionnaires distributed via Google Forms. The data were analyzed using the path analysis method. The results of this study indicate that: (1) Servant Leadership has a positive and significant direct effect on Organizational Citizenship Behavior, meaning that a service-oriented leadership style enhances employees’ organizational citizenship behavior. (2) Work Motivation has a positive and significant direct effect on Organizational Citizenship Behavior, indicating that employees’ internal drive contributes to the improvement of OCB. (3) Servant Leadership has a positive and significant effect on Job Satisfaction, implying that servant leaders can increase employee job satisfaction. (4) Work Motivation has a positive and significant effect on Job Satisfaction, suggesting that higher motivation is associated with greater job satisfaction. (5) Job Satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on Organizational Citizenship Behavior, meaning that satisfied employees are more likely to display OCB. (6) Job Satisfaction partially and significantly mediates the indirect effect of Servant Leadership on Organizational Citizenship Behavior. (7) Job Satisfaction also partially and significantly mediates the indirect effect of Work Motivation on Organizational Citizenship Behavior among employees of PT Karya Usaha Baru.

Abstract

This study aims to conduct a systematic review of the influence of leadership style, managerial support, and work environment on employee performance, with work motivation serving as an intervening variable. The review adopts a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach based on the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) protocol to systematically examine and synthesize scholarly literature indexed in Sc-opus from Q1 to Q4 journals published within the last five years (2020–2024). A total of 103 scientific articles were analyzed using inclusion and exclusion criteria, thematic data extraction procedures, and content synthesis techniques. The findings reveal that transformational, visionary, and participative leadership styles positively contribute to enhancing employee engagement, voice behavior, and performance outcomes. Communicative, responsive, and empowering managerial support has been shown to improve employee productivity and well-being. Additionally, an ergonomic, digitally adaptive, and psychosocially supportive work environment significantly drives optimal performance outcomes. All exogenous variables demonstrate interconnected synergy through the mediating role of work motivation, which functions as a crucial psychological mechanism bridging structural influences and employee performance. These findings theoretically contribute to strengthening the frameworks of Transformational Leadership Theory, Job Demands–Resources Theory, Expectancy Theory, and the Resource-Based View (RBV). Furthermore, this study offers practical implications for organizations and proposes future research agendas emphasizing longitudinal approaches, cultural contextualization, and the integration of HR analytics. Keywords: Leadership Style, Managerial Support, Work Environment, Work Motivation, Employee Performance, Systematic Literature Review (SLR).

Abstract

Growing global awareness of environmental issues has led to the increasing adoption of circular economy principles as a practical approach to building efficient and sustainable systems. In Indonesia, particularly in Malang City, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) play a vital role in the national economy, contributing over 60% to the gross domestic product (GDP) and employing more than 97% of the workforce. This study aims to examine the relationship and influence of green technology adoption and human resource (HR) training on customer satisfaction, within the context of resource optimization through circular economy practices. Using a quantitative approach, the study surveyed 100 MSMEs selected through simple random sampling to ensure sectoral diversity and minimize sampling bias. Data were processed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software. The results indicate that HR training does not have a significant effect on customer satisfaction among MSMEs in Malang City. In contrast, the implementation of green technology and circular economy practices positively contributes to performance improvement, particularly when linked to customer satisfaction and sustainability outcomes across economic, environmental, and social dimensions.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of market connectivity on the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Balikpapan City and to develop an Enabling Environment Framework that supports MSME growth. Using a quantitative approach with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), data were collected through questionnaires distributed to MSMEs across various sectors. The results of the analysis indicate that market connectivity positively influences MSME innovation. However, its direct effect on MSME growth is insignificant, suggesting that innovation is a mediating variable in this relationship. The study concludes that while market connectivity does not directly promote growth, the innovation it stimulates is crucial for enhancing MSME performance. The recommendations include strengthening digital infrastructure, providing targeted training programs, and facilitating business networks to create a more conducive environment for MSME development. The proposed Enabling Environment Framework is expected to serve as a practical guide for stakeholders to enhance the contribution of MSMEs to the local economy.
