Abstract

AbstractThe objective of this study is to systematically review academic works in the area of multicultural education. Publications were gathered using the Scopus database and a variety of bibliometric variables. The publishing mapping program VOS viewer was used to analyzing the collected data. There were 501 publications on intercultural and multicultural education that were published between 1973 to 2021. The results showed that between 1973 and 2021, the number of publications varied. With the addition of 12 publication documents, the number of publications has doubled starting in 1997. The most published documents amounted to 42 in 2020. The number of academic scientific papers published in the United States, which is recognized as the most productive nation, is 321. Constantine, M.G., of Columbia University in the United States, is the most prolific writer. With 14 publications, Columbia University in the US was the most productive university. The findings of this study imply that the main keyword is "multicultural training" which is grouped with "case conceptualization", "multicultural case conceptualization", "multicultural competency", "school psychology", and "supervision". This indicates that the topic of multicultural education is closely related to the keywords, and future researchers should investigate these keywords to have a deeper understanding of the field of multicultural education.Keywords: multicultural education, bibliometric review, publication trends, VOS viewerAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk meninjau secara sistematis karya akademis di bidang pendidikan multikultural. Publikasi dikumpulkan menggunakan database Scopus dan berbagai variabel bibliometrik. Program pemetaan penerbitan VOSviewer digunakan untuk menganalisis data yang dikumpulkan. Ada 501 publikasi tentang pendidikan antar budaya dan multukultural yang ditemukan antara tahun 1973 hingga 2021. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa antara tahun 1973 hingga 2021, jumlah publikasi bervariasi. Dengan tambahan 12 dokumen publikasi jumlah publikasi menjadi dua kali lipat mulai tahun 1997. Dokumen paling banyak diterbitkan berjumlah 42 pada tahun 2020. Jumlah karya ilmiah akademik yang diterbitkan di Amerika Serikat, yang diakui sebagai negara paling produktif sebanyak 321 dokumen. Constantine, M.G., dari Universitas Columbia di Amerika Serikat, adalah penulis paling produktif. Dengan 14 publikasi, Universitas Columbia di AS adalah universitas paling produktif. Temuan penelitian ini menyiratkan bahwa kata kuncinya adalah "pelatihan multikultural", yang dikelompokkan dengan "konseptualisasi kasus", "konseptualisasi kasus multikultural", "kompetensi multikultural", "psikologi sekolah", dan "pengawasan". Abstract

This research aims to analyze the early reading difficulties of second-grade elementary school students using the EGRA (Early Grade Reading Assessment) test. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach involving 20 second-grade students from several elementary schools. The instrument is based on the EGRA test as a measure to identify the level of early reading ability of students. The results show students' difficulties in early reading, including letter recognition, reading text recognition, word comprehension problems, and reading fluency. Data analysis also shows differences in reading ability levels among students, with most facing challenges in accurately identifying and understanding words. The implications of this research emphasize the need for developing appropriate teaching strategies to help students overcome their reading difficulties. This study is expected to contribute to developing more effective early literacy programs and support students' progress in reading at the primary education level.

Abstract

This mixed-method research aims to determine the interaction between the learning process using the two models and university students organizational experience on conflict resolution skills (Factor 1), and to determine the difference in influence between organization experience called BSLT (Factor 2). The research by using sequential explanation population was all PGSD university students at Muhammadiyah University of Cirebon, in 30 university students. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. The research instrument uses test questions and interview guidelines. The results of this study found that the influence of Factor 1 had no effect. However, based on the results of Factor 2, it shows that there is an influence between the conflict resolution skills of university students who have taken BSLT and those who have never taken BSLT. This shows that the experience of taking BSLT has an effect on university students' conflict resolution abilities, compared to just using the learning model. The impact of university students mastering good conflict resolution skills is the creation of a positive climate in the organizational and campus environment. As well as university students' agility in eliminating potential conflicts that develop, so that they can be resolved immediately. Abstract

During the era of digital transformation, the integration of technology into the field of education through teaching methods has become a necessity. This study aims to measure the effectiveness of museum virtual tour media on increasing student involvement in social studies learning in elementary schools. Research design uses quasi-experiment with pre-test and post-test control-group design. The research sample consisted of 64 students in the fifth grade. The dimensions and indicators used in the questionnaire are sourced from The Student Engagement in School Questionnaire (SESQ). The data used in this research comes from questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The N-gain Score test was chosen to analyse the data, comparing the average scores between the experimental and control groups. The findings show that there is a disparity in the average engagement results between students who use virtual museum tour media and students who use traditional textbooks. The experimental class obtained an n-gain score of 0.683 which indicated an increase in student involvement in the high category, while the control class obtained an n-gain score of 0.193 which indicated an increase in student involvement in the low category. Thus, the use of virtual museum tour media is proven to be able to make a significant contribution in increasing student involvement, encouraging cultural appreciation, and strengthening students' sense of nationalism in elementary schools.

Abstract

Fase fondasi merupakan fase yang terpenting dalam kehidupan anak usia dini karena stimulasi yang diberikan pada masa ini akan menjadi bekal untuk menempuh pendidikan pada tahap yang lebih tinggi. Di fase fondasi ini terdapat tiga element capaian pembelajaran yang harus terpenuhi diantaranya nilai agama dan budi pekerti, jati diri serta dasar-dasar literasi, matematika, sains, teknologi, rekayasa dan seni. Untuk mewujudkan capaian pembelajaran tersebut, dapat dilakukan dengan pendekatan teori bermain kontemporer melalui pembelajaran qur’anic sains yang mengintegrasikan sains dengan Al-Qur’an sehingga tercipta bermain bermakna pada diri anak usia dini. Tujuan penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisa bagaimana guru melakukan proses persiapan dan pelaksanaan pembelajaran serta persepsi orangtua siswa terhadap pembelajaran qur’anic sains yang dilakukan di TPA Al-Madani Bandung. Subjek penelitian adalah tiga orang guru dengan latar belakang pendidikan PIAUD dan tiga orang perwakilan orangtua siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus, dimana dalam pengumpulan datanya dilakukan melalui observasi, dokumentasi dan wawancara semi terstruktur. Analisis data menggunakan member check dan triangulasi teknik. Diketahui hasil dari penelitian ini bahwasanya dalam persiapan dan pelaksanaan bermain bermakna melalui pendekatan qur’anic sains para guru telah memiliki kemampuan pedagogi pembelajaran sains meliputi keterampilan proses yang menunjang pada tercapainya tujuan pembelajaran yang mampu meningkatkan rasa antusias anak dan motivasi belajar. Adapun persepsi orangtua terkait pembelajaran qur’anic sains menunjukan kontribusi positif terhadap proses capaian pembelajaran pada fase fondasi ini.

Abstract

This study examines the lack of comprehension among students regarding subject matter that is highly relevant to their daily lives, emphasising the importance of their understanding. The encounter with diverse situations outside the classroom is a common experience for students; however, the insufficient availability of learning tools, unappealing media, and inadequate utilisation of school facilities contribute to their limited understanding. To address this issue, learning films are proposed as an alternative media to enhance student engagement, serve as effective learning materials, and make use of school resources such as projectors. The aim of this research is to create and evaluate the effectiveness of instructional video media with a diversity theme in improving learning outcomes among class III elementary school students. The design and development (D&D) method, specifically the PPE development model, was utilised in this study, involving three stages: planning, development, and evaluation. The input of media experts, material experts, and learning experts was sought to assess the feasibility of the learning videos. The results indicated that the learning films received a feasibility rating of 95% in the "extremely feasible" category, affirming their suitability for educational settings. Experts predicted that the implementation of learning films could significantly enhance student learning outcomes. The methodology encompassed data collection through the D&D method, including planning and conducting evaluations by experts, as well as the subsequent analysis and interpretation of the results. Ultimately, this study aims to improve the actual learning outcomes of class III elementary school students through the utilisation of instructional video media with a diversity theme.

Abstract

Baby swimming for children aged 6-36 months is experiencing increasing popularity. This program involves exercises in the water for 30-60 minutes, water-based activities can serve as another way to foster early childhood skills. Baby swimming's effects include instilling a sense of freedom, strength, and confidence in the water early on, offering diverse sensory experiences, and promoting children's physical and mental development. This study explores parental expectations and perceptions regarding baby swimming and its benefits for infant development. The methodology used is a literature review with a scoping review, following the PRISMA-ScR guidelines and the PICO framework, which consists of Population, Intervention, Comparison, and Outcome. The research results show that parents believe water activities such as baby swimming are good for infants' physical health and children's mental development. Parents' views on baby swimming are influenced by personal experiences, swimming abilities, knowledge, and current trends. Health and developmental advantages for children, alongside economic and environmental considerations, lead parents to select baby swimming. The quality of service dictates their satisfaction.

Abstract

In RA (Raudhatul Athfal/Islamic Early Childhood Education) context, since many teachers relied heavily on standard learning guidelines, most of them didn't have the power of creativity to make learning for children fun.  As a result, children were likely to experience burn out and this calls for a solution to apply like kaulinan barudak to develop children's character values. This study was aimed at determining the effectiveness of the implementation of kaulinan barudak, Sundanese traditional games in developing character values for children in RA (Raudhatul Athfal/Islamic Early Childhood Education). This research applied a quasi-experimental method with Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest design. This research was conducted in two RA schools namely RA Al Muqadasah 1 and RA Al-Muqadasah 2 with 36 children involved. The test result for average difference on the post-test showed that children's character values of the experimental class and the control class at the 0.05 significance level was obtained p (sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000. This indicated that there was a significant difference between the average score of the experimental class and control class in their post-test in terms of their character values scores at a level of confidence of 95%. Applying kaulinan barudak provided the experimental class a fun learning experience, potential growth, fun game, peer interaction, and a pleasant atmosphere. The process allowed character values to occur and children learned those values and realized them in kaulinan barudak.

Abstract

Penerapan teknologi dalam ranah pendidikan khususnya pembelajaran menjadi perhatian khususnya dalam memberikan evaluasi pembelajaran yang menarik dengan menggunakan aplikasi Quizizz. Kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini memiliki tujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru sekolah dasar melalui kegiatan terintegrasi proses penggunaan pedagogi, teknologi dan materi ajarnya. Peserta kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah guru sekolah dasari di SD Kemala Bhayangkari 5 Cipinang. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dilaksanakan melalui beberapa tahap seperti sosialisasi, pelatihan, penerapan teknologi, pendampingan dan keberlanjutan program. Pelaksaaan kegiatan ini diselenggarakan melalui proses memberikan pelatihan mengenai bagaimana mengintegrasi TPACK memiliki konsep dari 3 komponen yaitu pengintegrasian TPACK dalam rancangan belajar, teknologi yang diimplementasikan untuk mengomunikasikan dalam kegiatan mengajar, dan exploratory practice  dan reflective practice melalui pembelajaran aktif. Hasil Setelah mengikuti pelatihan ini guru sekolah dasar memiliki kemampuan dalam mengevaluasi pembelajaran menggunakan Quizzizz. Berdasarkan hasil pelatihan terdapat peningkatan kemampuan pedagogik guru setelah mendapat pelatihan dengan materi TPACK

Abstract

AbstractSchool learning is seen as emphasizing the achievement of cognitive aspects, while affective aspects tend to be neglected. Thus causing imbalances in the formation of students' overall competence. To answer these challenges, a Value Inquiry learning model was developed that can balance cognitive and affective aspects integrated in thematic learning. This research used a modified Research & Development approach through three stages of implementation: preliminary study, model development, and model validation test. This research involved five elementary schools in Garut Regency. The instruments used included expert validation questionnaires, observation sheets, attitude questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. The limited and broad trials showed a significant increase in both concept understanding and students' social attitudes, it was shown by the results of the N-Gain analysis with an increase of 29.48% in the limited experimental class test with a low interpretation, 69.06% in the broad test phase I, 69.98% in phase II, and 70.10% in the validation test with a moderate interpretation. The effectiveness test results with a value of 0.701 which indicates that the Value Inquiry learning model is quite effective in improving students' concept understanding and social attitudes. Thus, this model is very relevant and practical to be applied.Keywords: learning models, value inquiry, social attitudes, characteristics of elementary school students.AbstrakPembelajaan di sekolah dipandang lebih menekankan pada pencapaian aspek kognitif, sementara aspek afektif cenderung terabaikan. Sehingga menyebabkan ketimpangan dalam pembentukan kompetensi utuh siswa. Untuk menjawab tantangan tersebut dikembangkan model pembelajaran Value Inquiry yang dapat menyeimbangkan aspek kognitif dan aektif yang terintegrasi dalam pembelajaran tematik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Research & Development yang dimodifikasi melalui tiga tahap pelaksanaan: studi pendahuluan, pengembangan model, dan uji validasi model. Penelitian ini melibatkan lima sekolah dasar di Kabupaten Garut. Instrumen yang digunakan melipui angket validasi ahli, lembar observasi, angket sikap, dan tes hasil belajar. Pada uji coba terbatas dan luas menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan baik dalam pemahaman konsep maupun sikap sosial siswa, hal itu ditunjukkan oleh hasil analisis N-Gain dengan peningkatan sebesar 29,48% pada uji kelas eksperimen terbatas dengan interpretasi rendah, 69,06% pada uji luas tahap I, 69,98% pada tahap II, dan 70,10% pada uji validasi dengan interpretasi sedang. Hasil uji efektivitas dengan nilai 0,701 yang menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran Value Inquiry  cukup efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dan sikap sosial pesrta didik. Dengan demikian, model ini sangat relevan dan praktis untuk diterapkan.Kata kunci: model pembelajaran, value inquiry, sikap sosial, karakteristik siswa sekolah dasar.
