Abstract

An educational system should be able to develop students' ability to learn. Students who have good learning habits and ability could begiven the J:eSPonsibilit¥ and ability ofregulating their own learning activities. Itmeans that it would be the students themselves who would execute the processes of exploration, inquiry, and learning and also conceptualize their activities. Students' learning activities would not work ifthe teacher's conceptofinstruction still uses the approach ofthe "content delivery system", which means that the teacher continually gives with the students merely taking and accepting. This kind ofinstructional approach principally would produce passive and dependent students, who always wait to be spoon-fed bythe teacher. Such an attitude passivity anddependence in students would affect them by decreasing their enthusiasm for active learning, which, in tum, would yield a low academic perfonnance, preventing them from getting a passing grade, make them fail, and possibly even cause them to drop out. On the face ofsuch a problem, there has come the concept ofself-regulated learning, a concept that tries to explain how students canberegula­ tors oftheirownlearning activities.Self-regulated learning is the kind oflearning that occurs because of the influence of students' self-generated thoughts, feelings, strategies, and behaviors which are oriented toward the attainment oflearning goals. Here it is important that students' initiative starts their learning activity. Active, dynarnic, and creative students usually have much initiative to doing some activities. Once they know the direction to the objectives, they would generate thoughts, feelings, strategies, and behaviors oriented toward the attainment ofgoals. So the basic components of self-regulated learning are self-regula­ tion ofcognition, self-regulation ofmotivation and emotion, and self-regulation ofbehavior. Teachers can help students become more self-regulated. Some ways to teach self-regulated learning are explicit instruction, direct reflection, and meta-cognitive discussion. Two modeh{that could be followed are those called Cycle ofSelf-Regulated Learning, and ACyclical Model ofSelf­ regulated Learning from Zimmerman. Both models, however, are alike principally. They start with planning, implementation, and e valuation ofthe chosen strategies. Results ofthe researches have proven that self-regulated learning correlates significantly with academic performance in primary, middle, and high school students. Abstract

The purpose of the study was to show the concept of the among system as a model of education and teaching in documentary sources, and also the realization of the concept in the education and teaching setting. The study involved two designs: one was a study content (documentary) and the other was a qualitative approach. In the first design, the researcher studied written documentary sources of the system among. In the second design, the researcher observed the realization of the system among concepts. The subjects of the study included a member of the Board of Majelis Luhur Taman Siswa, teachers and students of Taman Siswa schools, and also the alumni of Taman Siswa schools. Data were analyzed using qualitative analyses. The results show that the among system of education, the work of Ki Hadjar Dewantara, actually is an educational and teaching system that is complete and comprehensive, and one that can be implemented lifetime. Nevertheless, in the realization on Taman Siswa schools, due to the limitation of facilities, implementation of the among system could not completely

Abstract

EFEKTIVITAS TUTOR SEBAYA DAN PEKERJAAN RUMAH DALAM MENINGKATKAN SELF- REGULATED LEARNING SISWAAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas metode tutor teman sebaya dan pekerjaan rumah dalam meningkatkan kemampuan Self Regulated Learning (SRL) siswa. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, dilaksanakan eksperimen dengan memberikan perlakuan kepada dua kelompok siswa yang berbeda, satu kelompok mendapatkan perlakuan dengan metode tutor teman sebaya dengan jumlah sampel 32 siswa dan kelompok lainnya mendapatkan perlakuan dengan pemberian pekerjaan rumah dengan sampel 31 siswa, dan satu kelompok lagi yang berfungsi sebagai kelompok kontrol dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 33 siswa. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini menggunakan skala untuk mengukur SRLsiswa. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik ANOVA satu jalur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode tutor teman sebayalebih tinggi hasilnya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan SLR siswa dibandingkan pekerjaan rumah. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan diperolehnya nilai F sebesar 118,448 dengan taraf signifikasi sebesar 0,000 dan rerata untuk kelompok dengan perlakuan tutor teman sebaya sebesar 159,12 sedangkan untuk kelompok dengan perlakuan pemberian pekerjaan rumah sebesar 142,81; sementara kelompok kontrol sebesar 125,24.Kata kunci: tutor teman sebaya, pekerjaan rumah, self-regulated learningAbstractThis study was aimed at comparing peer tutoring and homework techniques in improving students’ self-regulated learning (SRL). The study used aquasi-experimental design by conducting treatments to two different groups of students, one group receiving treatment with the peer tutoring method with 32 students, and other group was treated by administering homework with 31 students, and the other group as a control group with 33 students not receiving a specific treatment. The research instrument was a scale to measure the students SRL abilities. One-line ANOVA was used to analyzethe data. The results show that peer tutoring is more influential in improving the ability of students in SRL than in homework. It was indicated by the F value of 118.448 with a significance level of 0.000 and the mean scores for the treatment group with peer tutoring at 159.12, the treatment group with homework at 142.81, while the control group at 125.24.Keywords: peer tutoring, homework, self-regulated learning

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan movable book berbasis pendidikan karakter yang layak dan efektif untuk menanamkan karakter peduli lingkungan dan meningkatkan minat membaca siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan angket. Validasi produk yang dikembangkan dilakukan oleh ahli bahan ajar, ahli materi, respon siswa, dan guru. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji statistik dan uji manova. Hasil penelitian berupa movable book berbasis pendidikan karakter dinyatakan valid digunakan berdasarkan validasi ahli dan dan uji coba pada siswa.  Kevalidan pada espek bahan ajar memperoleh skor 79 dengan katagori “sangat baik”, aspek materi memperoleh skor 39 dengan kategori “sangat baik”, respon guru memperoleh skor 36 dengan kategori “sangat baik”, dan respon siswa memeperoleh skor 160 dengan kategori “baik”. Movable book yang dikembangkan efektif meningkatkan karakter penduli lingkungan dan minat membaca siswa. Hasil dari uji coba MANOVA pada data uji coba operasional menunjukan taraf signifikansi 0,002 yang berarti 0,05. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan karakter peduli lingkungan dan minat membaca siswa kelas II SD.AbstractThis study aims to develop a movable book based on character education that is feasible and effective to inculcate the characters of environmental care and increase students' reading interest. This research is development research that uses a model from Borg Gall. The data collection is through observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The validation of the developed product is carried out by teaching material experts, material experts, student responses, and teachers. The data analysis used statistical tests and MANOVA test. The result of the study in the form of a movable book based on character education, which is valid based on expert validation and trials on students. The validity of the teaching material specs scored 79 with the "very good" category, the material aspect gave a score of 39, in the "very good" category, the teacher gave a score of 36, in the "very good" category, and the students gave a score of 160, in the "good" category. The developed movable book is effective in improving the students’ character of environmental care and reading interest. The results of MANOVA trials on operational trial data show a significance level of 0.002 which means 0.05. The results show that there are significant differences in the environmental care character and reading interest of grade II students.

Abstract

The first education that humans get when they are children is informal education in the family environment. The existence of parents in informal education has a strong influence on each child. The family is the first and foremost educational institution. First and foremost because children are born and learn through the closest person, namely in the family institution. Education received by children is natural and informal due to the learning process in the form of socialization of values and skills in everyday life. and The second place of education for children after the family environment is the school environment. School is an institution officially organizing education. The main objective of establishing a school is to develop the potential of each child through teaching and learning activities in accordance with the applicable curriculum standards. This study aims to determine the relationship between family environment and faith based school environment and learning achievement. This research was quantitative correlational. The population was all students of fifth grade of faith based elementary school in Magelang as many as 392 students. The sample was 198 students, selected by purposive random proportional sampling technique. The study data were collected with family environment questionnaire, faith based school environment questionnaire, and documentation of learning achievement. Validity test was done by expert judgment and with the help of SPSS 20.0 for Windows. Reliability testing used Cronbach's alpha technique. The results showed that: (1) there was a positive relationship between the family environment and learning achievement, the value of a=0.000 and correlation of 0.678; (3) there was a positive relationship between faith based school environment and learning achievement, the value of a=0.000 and correlation of 0.542; (5) there was a positive relationship between family environment and faith based school environment with learning achievement, the value of a=0.000 and the correlation of 0.779.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve student learning outcomes by using a game media called Go Go Egg. The game is adapted from a board game called Jumanji. The theme of this game is about introducing the diversity of Indonesian culture.The research method used is quasi-experimental with a one-group pretest-posttest research design. The subjects in this study were 19 fourth grade elementary school students. This research was conducted to see whether or not there was an increase in student learning outcomes before using the Go Go Egg game media and after using the Go Go Egg game media based on Indonesian cultural diversity. The data collection technique used was a written test in the form of multiple choice questions on the pretest and posttest with equivalent questions. The data analysis technique used in this research is the paired t-test.The results of the study of learning outcomes using the Go Go Egg game media an increase in the average value. The results at the pretest were 13.58 and increased at the posttest to 18.84. The conclusion from this study is that the Go Go Egg game can improve the learning outcomes of fourth grade elementary school students.

Abstract

Prokrastinasi merupakan salah satu fenomena permalahan yang mempengaruhi jutaan pelajar di seluruh dunia. Prokrastinasi akademik adalah salah satu alasan yang paling sering dipergunakan dalam merasionalisasi kegagalan atau kinerja akademik yang tidak maksimal dari mahasiswa di perguruan tinggi. Banyak bukti-bukti ilmiah yang menunjukkan bahwa prokrastinasi akademik banyak berhubungan dengan berbagai macam kerugian dalam bidang akademik maupun non-akademik. Efek prokrastinasi pada umumnya mahasiswa akan mengalami penurunan akademik, di samping itu mereka juga dihinggapi ketegangan dan kecemasan yang tinggi. Pada dasarnya ada dua hal yang mempengaruhi prokrastinasi yaitu faktor internal dan faktor eksternal. Faktor internal berupa aspek fisiologis dan psikologis, sedangkan faktor eksternal berupa berbagai hal yang mempengaruhi individu dalam perkembangannya mulai dari gaya pengasuhan orang tua, pengaruh keluarga, dan sebagainya. Berbagai tip untuk mengatasi prokrastinasi didiskusikan baik dalam aspek preventif, developmental, maupun kuratif.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to analyze the needs of interactive multimedia based on drill and practice in elementary school. This research was conducted at an elementary school located in Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Participants in this study were 93 fifth grade students at elementary schools. The data in this study were obtained using a needs questionnaire from interactive multimedia based on drill and practice. The results of this study indicate that critical reading skills and student motivation are still low. So that in learning activities appropriate learning media is needed. Based on the results of the analysis of the needs for instructional media, students stated that they needed interactive multimedia based on drill and practice. The results of this study indicate that it is necessary to develop interactive multimedia based on drill and practice.Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis kebutuhan multimedia interaktif berbasis drill and practice di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini dilakukan di sebuah sekolah dasar yang terletak di Kabupaten Sleman, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah 93 siswa kelas V di sekolah dasar. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dengan menggunakan angket kebutuhan dari multimedia interaktif berbasis drill and practice. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan membaca kritis dan motivasi belajar siswa masih rendah. Sehingga dalam kegiatan pembelajaran diperlukan media pembelajaran yang sesuai. Berdasarkan hasil analisis kebutuhan media pembelajaran, siswa menyatakan membutuhkan multimedia interaktif berbasis drill and practice. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perlu dikembangkan multimedia interaktif berbasis drill and practice.
