Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of moderator variables on the relationship between decision-makers behavioral preferences and innovation adoption. Moderator variables are collaboration experience with university and firm characteristics such as ownership of the firm, size of the firm, and status of the firm. There is still a limited understanding of decision-makers behavioral preferences in the adoption of innovations from university, even though this understanding is needed to enhance the success of university and industry collaboration. This study explores several moderator variables that have not been previously studied together before on the relationship between decision-makers behavioral preferences and innovation adoption. This study distributes questionnaires to 365 respondents who are decision-makers of food and beverage firms in Jakarta and surrounding areas. Quantitative analysis of SEM data was carried out with LISREL. The results showed that decision-makers behavior preferences have a significant relationship with innovations adoption and only the status of the firm and collaboration experience with university influence the relationship between decision-makers behavioral preferences and innovations adoption. The results of this study reflect that some moderator variables have a significant effect on the relationship between decision-makers behavioral preferences and innovations adoption. Future research may employ other moderator variables such as government regulations to find out its influence on the adoption of innovation from the university.

Abstract

This study examines the competitive positioning of Lion Parcel Meruyung within Indonesia's rapidly expanding courier, express, and parcel (CEP) industry, which has experienced substantial growth amid the e-commerce boom reaching US$53 billion in 2023. The research addresses the strategic challenges faced by emerging logistics providers competing against established market leaders (JNE, J&T, Pos Indonesia) and alternative delivery services offered by e-commerce platforms. Employing a comprehensive qualitative methodology, the study gathered primary data through stakeholder interviews and supplemented with secondary data from industry reports and literature. The research framework incorporated multiple analytical tools including PESTLE, Porter's Five Forces, Value Chain Analysis, Competitive Profile Matrix, Internal-External Matrix, SWOT Analysis, Grand Strategy Analysis, and Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM). Findings reveal that Lion Parcel Meruyung operates within a favorably opportunistic market landscape while confronting significant competitive threats from alternative delivery services (weighted score 0.322) and established industry players (0.256). Through systematic strategic formulation processes, ten potential strategies were developed and prioritized using QSPM analysis. Four high-priority strategies emerged: express delivery service development (STAS 6.247), strategic hub expansion for instant delivery capabilities (STAS 6.189), integrated e-commerce partnership programs (STAS 6.123), and implementation of tier-based customer loyalty initiatives (STAS 6.104). This research contributes to strategic management literature by demonstrating practical application of comprehensive analytical frameworks in developing competitive strategies for emerging logistics companies in digitally disrupted markets. The findings offer actionable strategic direction for Lion Parcel Meruyung while providing valuable insights for logistics providers facing similar competitive challenges in emerging economies' rapidly evolving e-commerce landscapes.

Abstract

Background: Background: Indonesia’s halal industry offered strong growth potential, yet investment in halal detection tools remained limited. Strengthening this sector could improve independence and competitiveness in domestic biotechnology.Purpose: The study evaluates the financial feasibility of investing in the development of halal detection kit products and integrates risk management to enhance decision-making in biotechnology investments.Design/methodology/approach:  A quantitative analysis was conducted using primary data (semi-structured interviews with PT XYZ’s management and company financial statements) and secondary data (literature, market reports, and internal documents). Investment feasibility was assessed through Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Payback Period (PBP). Monte Carlo simulations were applied to model uncertainty and integrate risk analysis into the NPV-at-Risk framework.Findings/Result: The study results show that the investment in developing halal detection kit products is economically feasible, as indicated by a positive NPV, an IRR above the discount rate, and a relatively short PBP. Monte Carlo simulations highlight the sensitivity of investment profitability to fluctuations in raw material prices and currency exchange rates, emphasizing the importance of effective risk management strategies. Conclusion: PT XYZ can reduce cost risk by collaborating with local partners to increase the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) and minimize reliance on imported raw materials affected by currency fluctuations. Implementing risk mitigation strategies based on the NPV-at-Risk method can optimize operations, improve cost efficiency, and expand market reach.Originality/value (State of the art):  This research combined financial feasibility with risk-based analysis using the NPV-at-Risk method in biotechnology. Abstract

Symptoms of domestic violence that occurs in marriage is due to the absence of equality or what is often called kafa>’ah in the fiqh al-muna>kah}ah between the prospective husband and wife. In this case the position of husband to wife is not equal, either in economic, social, education, culture, race/ethnicity, ancestry or religious level. Husband’s position which is not equivalent (as kufu>’) with his wife or vice versa, often triggers dispute between the two. Ongoing dispute, then followed by hurting words, beatings or physical abuse, irresponsible behavior, don’t meet the economic or biological needs, marry again, and even can also lead to a sadistic action or killing. In this perspective the author considers that if the value embodied in the kafa>‘ah concept is understood correctly and properly, it’ll actually give a positive chance to prevent domestic violence crime especially in the context of the relationship between husband and wife.[Gejala Kekerasan Dalam Rumah Tangga (KDRT) yang terjadi dalam perkawinan, salah satunya disebabkan tidak adanya kesetaraan atau yang sering disebut dalam fiqh al-munâkahah dengan istilah kafa>’ah antara calon suami dengan calon istri.

Abstract

The minimum age for marriage in fiqh has been a debated issue. This minimum limit is typically interpreted with reference to Aisha's marriage to the Prophet. Husein Muhammad argued, contrary to popular belief that Aisha's age at the time of her marriage was eighteen, not nine. This paper explains the characteristics of Husein's views on the minimum age for marriage in Islam. The data was collected from reviews of Husein's and other researchers' works in which they discussed Husein's ideas. This paper argues that, according to Husein, it is demonstrably untrue to postulate that Aisha was nine years old when she married. Husein concluded that Aisha was at least eighteen when she wed the Prophet. This interpretation arises as a result of his comparison between Aisha's age and Asma's. Besides that, Husein also considers the maqāṣid syarīah principle, according to which the age of eighteen is the minimum age that is physically and psychologically ideal and more compatible with the soul preservation of women and their future offspring.[Batas usia minimum perkawinan dalam fikih tidak ditetapkan secara pasti.
