Abstract

Self-portrait (selfie) change into a phenomenal act in the present era. In the List of selfie-related injuries and deaths, there are 23 people injured and died in 2015 and 9 people died up to March 2016. Most of the case caused by fall down while taking selfies on high level building. Selfie on the height building usually have no permission and not comply with the requirement of working at height. Those are no suit with “Undang-Undang No 1 Tahun 1970” which mention everyone who entered the workplace, are required to comply with all existing safety instructions. Not obeying the rules that already exist, including the unsafe act. The purpose of this study was determine the factors that influence unsafe act of selfie permormer on high level buildings in Jakarta. This research used descriptive method with qualitative approach. Three people participated in this research as key informants and two others as informants triangulation. The result showed the informant was having the right knowledge. However informant break the rules and trespass to climb up to high level building without permission. Informant always try yo be careful, they know what they are doing is dangerous, but they neglected it. The entire informants have gadgets such as cameras and sosical media and they have so many followers to support them and the informant’s friend to encourage them to making selfies above high level buildings. Informants usually seek in advance the condition of security on a building that will be climed. Role of the building management is very needed in the regulatory process. Individual behavior will change and follow the rules and instructions that apply.

Abstract

Fatigue is a mechanism of body protection to avoid further body damage. Fatigue increase fault in working and the most fatal effects is an accident. Work load and work climate are some of factors that cause fatigue. The purpose of this study was to analyze the correlation between work load and work climate with fatigue in land surveying job using theodolite. This study  used an explanatory research with cross sectional approach. Population of this study were 208 students of civil engineering in 2nd semester school term 2015/2016 and 36 students who using theodolite were choosen to be respondents. The instrument used in this study including stopwatch to measure work load, Questemp 34 to measure work climate, and Deary-Liewald Time Task application to measure fatigue. The results of this study show 52,8% respondent with light workload, 66,7% respondent working in substandard  work climate, and 91,7 % respondent with light fatigue. The result of statistic test using Rank Spearmen Correlation Test, there were a significant correlation between workload and fatigue (p=0,01) and there’s no correlation between work climate and fatigue (p=0,706). To decrease workload and fatigue when practice, students were advised to set tripod fit to their body and wear hat to avoid heat exposure from the sun.

Abstract

Nisya Batik is a batik industry that included to an Informal Industry Sector. One of the health risks that could possibly happen is Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs). This research is using Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method which analyzes body posture of a worker while working. There are 11 activities batik at Nisya Batik, including spreading a fabric, making  stamp pattern, taking paraffin with canting, covering stamp, making  mixture of fabric dye, pouring water into coloration’s tool, coloring fabric, draining fabric, boiling fabric, draining fabric and seasoning fabric. The body posture that scored by researcher is including neck posture, back posture, upper arm posture, lower arm posture, wrist posture and leg posture. This research is also describing subjective complaints of the worker who related to MSDs. The purpose of this research is to analyze Ergonomic Risk Level using REBA Method to the complaint of MSDs to batik craftsmen at Nisya Batik, Kuningan. This Research is a qualitative research using observational approach and interview. The observation is using observe work postur to a worker as a main informan and the interview is using to a worker and also to the Business owner as a triangulation informant. Based on observations result with using Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA), there are 9 percent (1 posture) with low risk (low risk); 64 percent (7 postures) with medium risk (medium risk); and 27 percent (3 postures) with high risk (high risk). There is a subjective complaint associated with MSDs worker felt like aches and pains. It can be concluded that the analysis of the risk level of ergonomics at Nisya Batik batik craftsmen in Kuningan varies with accompanying diverse subjective complaints.

Abstract

Muculoskeletal disorders are complaints on parts of the skeletal muscles that felt by someone start by minor disorders up to very sick. One of disease that affects many workers was musculoskeletal disorders, musculoskeletal disorders therefore an important concern for all circles. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between work posture with the level of subjective musculoskeletal disorders in toll road keeper Tembalang Semarang. Type of this study is explanatory research using cross sectional approach. The number of samples in this study is the total of population is 30 people. Data analysis using Spearmen Rank correlation test, with significance level of 95%. The result of this study showed the majority of respondent felt the musculoskeletal disorders lightweight category are 46,7%. The statistical analysis result showed there is correlation between work posture (p=0,002), wrist posture (p=0,037), twisting wrist posture (p=0,011), and neck posture (p=0,009) with the level of subjective musculoskeletal disorders in toll road keeper Tembalang Semarang. There is no correlation between upper arm posture (p=0,723), forearm posture (p=0,903), back posture (p=0,767) dan leg posture (p=0,155) with the level of subjective musculoskeletal disorders in toll road keeper Tembalang Semarang. From this study we can conclude that 70% of workers toll road keeper Tembalang Semarang had musculoskeletal disorders caused by occupational factors and individual characteristics. The suggestion for company to provide education about appropiate work postures and healthy lifestyle, so that all workers can avoid musculoskeletal disorders and minimize the risk of disease to be handle in the future.

Abstract

Reporting any hazardous events and accidents at workplace is one of safety behavior that can reduce the occurance of the accident. Hazardous events consist of unsafe actions and unsafe conditions. Semarang Container Terminal is a container service company that has a potential of dangerous events and accidents. This research is a qualitative research with the aim to assess the perception and intentions of field workers in reporting the hazardous events and accident in Semarang Container Terminal based on the Theory of Planned Behavior. Data obtained using the technique of indepth interview and observation. The main informants in this study were 17 field workers, consisted of 6 RTG operators, 2 field foreman, 6 tally man, and 3 head truck operators. The triangulation informants were consist of 1 Manager of Safety and Security Management, 1 Assistant Manager of Operational Division and 1 Supervisor of Loading and Unloading. The results showed that all of field workers already have a good perception and intention to report the unsafe conditions and accidents while 82.4% of them did not have a good perception and intention to report the unsafe actions. Some of them  already had sufficient knowledges of hazardous events and accidents. Although some of them  have experienced or found dangerous events and accidents, but not all of them agree to report unsafe action. Some of them had a good subjective norm but didn’t have a good perceived behavioral control in reporting unsafe action.

Abstract

Traffic accident is world problem. Almost year to year occur increase until 5%. Traffic accident at highway is dangerous to all employees who have high mobility, such as Koperasi Simpan Pinjam’s employee must work past the road with long distance every day. The purpose of this research is knowing factors associated with traffic accident on employees who use motorcyle at Koperasi Simpan Pinjam (KSP) Sumber Rejeki Blora. This research use analytical descriptive methode with cross sectional approach. Number of respondents who entered the survey is 40 respondents. All of them are Koperasi Simpan Pinjam (KSP) Sumber Rejeki Blora’s employees who ride motorcycle during working. This research use instruments, that are questionnare and data analysis with Chi-Square test. The result of this research are present two significant relationship that assosiate with traffic accident. That are drive speed (p=0.031) and exhaustion (p=0.044). The others factors such as age (p=0.707), working time (p=0.928), factor of vehicles (p=0.695), and factor of environment (p=0,533) have not significant relationship with traffic accident on Koperasi Simpan Pinjam (KSP) Sumber Rejeki Blora’s employees. Conclusion can be obtained from this research is factors associated with traffic accident on employees who use motorcyle at Koperasi Simpan Pinjam (KSP) Sumber Rejeki Blora are drive speed and exhaustion.

Abstract

Kecelakaan Lalu Lintas adalah suatu peristiwa di jalan yang tidak diduga dan tidak disengaja melibatkan kendaraan dengan atau tanpa pengguna jalan lain yang mengakibatkan korban manusia dan/atau kerugian harta benda. ISO 39001;2012 merupakan pedoman sistem manajemen keselamatan lalu lintas jalan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan kesesuaian antara pilar manajemen HSE pada perusahaan distributor Bahan Bakar Minyak (BBM) dengan ISO 39001:2012. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Informan utama empat orang yang terdiri dari staf HSE, supervisor site, operation fuel dan pengawas pengemudi, serta empat pengemudi sebagai informan triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komitmen dan kebijakan, sumber daya dan kompetensi, komunikasi, kontrol dan operasional perencanaan, audit, review manajemen dan perbaikan manajemen sudah sesuai dilakukan perusahaan, sedangkan pengelolaan risiko perjalanan, pengendalian faktor kinerja keselamatan, kesiapsiagaan dan tanggap darurat, pelaporan dan investigasi belum sesuai, dan memerlukan peningkatan dalam penerapannya.

Abstract

Job satisfaction is a result of a person's perception or assumption of how well a job provides important value for their survival and well-being. According to Herzberg Two Factor Theory, job satisfaction was influenced by two factors, it called motivation and maintenance factors. The discrepancy in the ratio of the number of teachers and students, as well as the rolling system carried out across levels and levels, caused job dissatisfaction of teachers in SLB Negeri Semarang. The purpose of this research is analyze the effect or influence of motivation factor and maintenance factor on job satisfaction on teachers in SLB Negeri Semarang. The type of this research is used quantitative method by using a cross-sectional study. The population in this research were 60 teachers of PNS in SLB Negeri Semarang. The sample that used in this research was 60 teachers with total sampling technique. The instrument in this research was used Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ) to assess job satisfaction and Job Descriptive Index (JDI) questionnaire to assess motivation and maintenance factors. The statistical analysis that used is binary regression test. The results showed that there was no influence motivation factors on job satisfaction (-value=0.065). There is an influence maintenance factors on job satisfaction (-value=0.001). Researchers suggest to increasing motivation factors by improving the promotion system, and providing awards for outstanding teachers. Moreover, improving maintenance factors is also needed by improving working conditions and supervision in SLB Negeri Semarang.

Abstract

Work in industries has high-risk harmful potency, in fact of the production process in using of aids for moving big material such as crane and forklift. Warehouse area of PT X has nine forklifts which consist of four battery engine and five diesel engine forklifts. The aim of this research is to analyse the factors which influence safety driving forklift operator in PT X. Method of this research is descriptivequalitative research which it combineswithcross-sectional research plan. Subject of this research consists of seven people asthe main informant and one person as triangulation informant. Result of this research shows the age and duration of work factors of forklift operator in accordance with standard operational procedure that issued by the government, forklift operator have had the knowledge of safety driving, some forklift operator are working out of procedures in operating the forklift, forklift which is used in standard and good condition, the company has to serve safety driving training and all operator have had to follow the training when making TIO/SIO process, the company have had thestandard operational procedure and socialise to forklift operator, controlled by supervisors such as reprimand and punching TIO while the operator is out of theprocedure, as a workmate is good to remind each other but to be reluctant to remind senior. This research suggests the company pays attention to the operator who works out of procedure explicitly.

Abstract

Well connection activity was a very important stage in oil and gas company, finishing well connection activity would influence the improvement of oil and gas production. The process of well connection demanded the workers to work carefully, fastly, and highly strength Well connection activity requires workers to work carefully, fastly, and with highly strength with the result that the threat of workplace accident became a very high risk to the workers. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between training, employment status, educational background, and the use of personal protective equipment with workplace accident in the process of installation platform of well connection project on Tunu field of block Mahakam TOTAL E & P INDONESIE. The method of this research was quantitative explanatory research with cross sectional approach. The subject of this research was the platform installation workers of well connection project unit construction engineering, which amounted to 42 respondents. This research was located in Tunu of Mahakam Block, TOTAL E & P INDONESIE. The Source of primary data were obtained through questionnaires and observation. The data analysis was using chi square test. The results showed that there were 14,3% workers with permanent employment status, 73,8% workers with a good training, 64,3% workers with a good background, 50,0% workers with the use of personal protective equipment properly, and 45,2% workers ever had an accident of 42 respondents. While the bivariate analysis showed that there was no relationship between employment status and workplace accident (p value = 1.000) there was no relationship between educational background and workplace accident (p value = 0.055). However, there was a relationship between training and workplace accident (p value =0,000) , there was a relationship between the use of personal protective equipment with workplace accident (p value = 0,012). It was recommended in training to give a pre-test and a post-test to measure the effectiveness of training.
