Abstract

This study aimed to explore students' experiences with VR Geopark Ijen as a learning media for physical environment material, examining the factors influencing these experiences. Employing a survey methodology at Zainul Hasan 1 Senior High School, the sample comprised 82 students from the 11th grade. Data collection involved closed and open-ended questionnaires, with analysis conducted using descriptive statistics based on mean scores. Qualitative data from student responses provided deeper insights into the quantitative findings. Results indicated that VR Geopark Ijen provided a positive and significant experience for students. They rated the media as very good criteria across multiple aspects, including usefulness, pleasantness, entertaining, productivity, novelty, reliability, efficiency, user-friendliness, attractiveness, enjoyment, fulfilment, meaningfulness, engagement, communicativeness, collaborativeness, helpfulness, convincingness, willingness, and recommend. Aspects of feature comprehensiveness, confidence, attentiveness, responsiveness, respectfulness received good criteria. VR Geopark Ijen effectively facilitated contextual and meaningful learning, increased active student engagement, and delivered an enjoyable experience. These findings suggest that VR Geopark Ijen has the potential to be an innovative solution for improving the quality of physical environment learning, addressing access limitations and enhancing student understanding. Further development should consider feature comprehensiveness, bolster student confidence, and integrate VR with the curriculum while providing teacher training.

Abstract

The transformation of higher education in Indonesia encourages the integration of entrepreneurial values into various disciplines, including geography education. Geoedupreneurship presents itself as an approach that combines spatial science and entrepreneurship based on local potential. This study aims to analyze the suitability of learning planning, the development of graduate learning outcomes, and the actual implementation of geoedupreneurship in higher education in Indonesia, with the higher education curriculum guidelines. A qualitative descriptive approach was used through analysis of Semester Learning Plan documents, student surveys, learning observations, and interviews. The results show that learning planning in geography education entrepreneurship courses at universities in Indonesia shows an average suitability of 81.43%, while the development of graduate learning outcomes achieves a level of alignment of 78% with the higher education curriculum guidelines. The implementation of a project-based approach supported by micro e-learning technology supports geoedupreneurship learning activities. However, 45.2% of students experience obstacles in integrating entrepreneurship concepts with geographical issues, and 54.8% state the need for contextual and applicable digital learning materials. The planning and implementation of geoedupreneurship are structured and adaptive, but require strengthening of learning instruments and the development of contextual digital learning materials. The geoedupreneurship approach has an important contribution in producing graduates with spatial competitiveness and entrepreneurship but requires further research to strengthen curriculum integration and the development of digital geoedupreneurship learning materials based on local potential that are oriented towards work competencies and support the achievement of geoedupreneurship learning objectives at the higher education level.

Abstract

Environmental issues are happening in Banjarmasin City, therefore it is important to utilize the role and function of schools to educate the younger generation about environmental awareness. The purpose of this research is to measure the level of environmental knowledge and environmental care attitude of students at Adiwiyata schools namely MAN 3 Banjarmasin and Non-Adiwiyata schools namely MAN 1 Banjarmasin, as also to identify school participation in the implementation of the Gerakan Peduli dan Berbudaya Lingkungan Hidup di Sekolah (Gerakan PBLHS). This study is a survey research using descriptive quantitative methods through questionnaires filled out by 285 students using random sampling techniques, observation, interviews with teachers and students, and documentation. The data were analyzed using the T-test and analysis of the level of knowledge and attitude towards caring for the environment. The Sig. (2-Tailed) value for Environmental Knowledge was 0.773 and for Environmental Care Attitude was 0.999. This shows that Sig. (2-Tailed) > 0.05, which indicates that there is no difference in the environmental knowledge and care attitude of Adiwiyata and Non-Adiwiyata school students. This is supported by the fact that 92% of MAN 3 Banjarmasin students and 88% of MAN 1 Banjarmasin students have excellent environmental knowledge, while 62% of MAN 3 Banjarmasin students and 67% of MAN 1 Banjarmasin students showed a very caring attitude towards the environment. The Gerakan PBLHS carried out by the two schools was not much different, namely commitment to the vision and mission as one of the school rules to protect the environment, learning that includes environmental issues, greening activities, the existence of a Waste Bank, and environmental cleanliness activities involving the entire school community. In Geography, this research is integrated with Environmental Education in shaping students' knowledge, values, and skills in understanding the impact of human interaction with the environment.
