Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the quality of advanced local content-based instructional reading material. It was ten descriptive texts and a reading comprehension test with the topic focused on Bangka Island tourism places. The developed product was specially constructed by considering the reading level of senior high school students in Pangkalpinang, Indonesia, which is identified at level four. The quality of the product reflects on its effectiveness and criterion-related validity. The point is determined from students' scores on the reading comprehension test administered after they have been taught using the developed product in 6 meeting sessions. The criterion-related validity of developed reading comprehension was recognized by measuring the correlation between students' scores on progressive reading comprehension tests and their scores on standardized reading level tests. Based on the result, the developed product can be considered adequate because 35 students (85.36%) out of 41 students in reading comprehension test accomplished the minimum mastery criterion, which was 70. The product was also considered good in terms of its criterion-related validity because the correlation coefficient was 0.618. Since findings show that the developed local content-based instructional reading materials are effective and valid, it can conclude that the developed product has good quality when used as instructional reading materials for senior high school students. Abstract

The aim of this study is to create a high-quality blended learning model using moodle and an ADDIE development step. This research results in a blended learning model based on components and learning model tools, as well as an e-learning moodle guide for lecturers and students. Based on expert validation assessments, the resulting blended learning model is of great quality. This blended learning model can help teachers navigate the complexities of BL, such as the integration process and navigation of essential learning activities and seek to involve, prepare, and support learning that has integrated online learning and F2F learning activities. Blended learning products are also developed to make it easier for lecturers to implement blended learning into the learning process and to make it easier for students to participate in learning activities according to the components of blended learning.

Abstract

Every student in higher education will learn about statistics. Statistics is knowledge about data collection, data classification, presentation, processing, drawing conclusions, and making decisions based on certain problems. Because statistics are related to sample data, it is necessary the ability to interpret, understand, and make good decisions on the data. Project-Based Learning is very suitable to be applied to solve complex problems in a creative, collaborative, and independent way like in this course. This research is to analyze the effectiveness of PjBL learning in improving the understanding of statistical concepts. The research subjects were seventy students who took statistics courses at the Mathematics Education Study Program, Bengkulu University in 2021. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research instrument was a test sheet for understanding the concept of statistics, including the ability to choose statistical analysis, the ability to process data, and the ability to interpret the results. The data were analyzed using the t-paired sample test and the N-Gain score. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of Project-Based Learning is quite effective in increasing students' understanding of concepts in statistics courses at Bengkulu University, especially in the mathematics education study program. Students' understanding of concepts after the PjBL model is applied is higher than before PjBL is applied.
