Abstract

Hardiness is a trait that plays an important role in dealing with stressful situations. Coping strategy is one of the factors that affect hardiness, the way to apply coping strategies is by having faith or joining a religious community called religiosity. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a relationship between religiosity and hardiness in students who are working on a thesis at the Faculty of Psychology, Makassar State University. This study used a quantitative correlation approach involving 168 students as respondents. The scale used in this study is the Hardiness and Religiosity scale. Spearman Rho correlation analysis showed a significant relationship between Hardiness and Religiosity in the intellectual dimension (r=0.048, p<0.05), ideology (r=0.011, p<0.05), and public worship (r=0.016, p<0.05), which indicates a significant relationship between Hardiness and religiosity. This finding has implications that increasing religiosity can strengthen students' hardiness, so it is important for students and educational institutions to develop spiritual aspects and mental resilience during the thesis process.

Abstract

The process of aging (aging) is a natural process faced by humans. In this process, the most crucial stage is the elderly stage. In this stage, in humans there is a natural decrease or change in physical, psychological and social conditions that interact with each other. The purpose of this research is to find out how the anxiety of the elderly in facing death is described. This study used qualitative research methods. The data collection method was carried out through an interview process with 1 (one) elderly subject aged 66 years. The interview was conducted using 7 open-ended questions related to the subject's readiness to face death. The results of this study indicate that the subject feels anxious and afraid of death, even though according to the subject death is a natural thing for every human being. This research is expected to provide insight regarding anxiety about death in the elderly from the point of view of psychological theory and research.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the perceptions of marriage from individuals who are in their early adulthood and adjustments to the marriage problems they face. This study uses a qualitative research method, namely by interview. Based on interviews that have been conducted on two subjects who are married in early adulthood, it gives a picture of marriage as the beginning of a new life, as well as the first step to becoming parents. The subjects of this study consisted of 2 people who were early adults. The results showed that the subject's perception of marriage was that the subject considered marriage as one of the best steps to have children and form a family. The subject also stated that in marriage there are things that are easy to learn such as the subject does not experience difficulties in adapting to his partner's family. However, the subject also considers that marriage also has challenges, namely obstacles at the beginning of marriage such as dividing time with education and the economy. The two subjects also said that adjustment to partners was carried out by building communication and mutual acceptance of differences between partners.

Abstract

Career maturity is an important aspect in student development which reflects student readiness in making career decisions. This research aims to compare the career maturity level of psychology students based on the students' study period. This research uses a quantitative approach. The sample for this research consisted of 60 students from the Faculty of Psychology from three different study periods. Subjects were selected using the Accidental Sampling technique in each class. Data was collected using a career maturity scale, and analyzed using the Kruskall Wallis test. The research results show a significance value of 0.23 (Asymp.sig>0.05), which means there is no significant difference in the level of student career maturity in terms of their study period. The implication of this research is that career education interventions can help students develop career maturity in all their study periods.

Abstract

Entering the era of globalization and the industrial revolution 4.0, the world of work is experiencing very dynamic, complex, and competitive changes. These changes require the younger generation, especially final year students such as at the State Islamic Senior High School (MAN), to be ready to plan their future careers carefully. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is an influence of self-efficacy on career maturity. This study uses an inferential quantitative approach. The population in this study were students of MAN Y in Makassar City. This study used the Accidental Sampling technique with a sample size of 45 MAN students in Makassar. The instruments in this study were the career maturity scale and the self-efficacy scale in the form of a Likert Scale. The data analysis used was simple regression analysis. The results of the study showed a Significance value (Sig.) = 0.001, which is much smaller than 0.05 (the level of significance commonly used). This means that the regression model is statistically significant, namely self-efficacy has a significant effect on career maturity. The conclusion of this study is that self-efficacy plays a significant role in the career maturity of MAN Y students in Makassar City. The implications of this study for schools and guidance and counseling teachers at MAN to improve student self-efficacy can be one of the strategic interventions in order to develop student career maturity.

Abstract

Divorced families often have a significant psychological impact on children, especially in the career decision-making process. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of the career maturity of adolescent students from divorced families. The method used in this study is library research, by collecting data from various sources of scientific article literature related to career maturity in adolescent students from divorced families. The data analysis used is content analysis. The results of the study indicate that adolescent students from high-achieving families tend to experience confusion in determining adolescent career choices. The role of parents has an impact on self-concept, emotions, adolescent confusion in determining a career, so that it can affect the career life of adolescent students. In addition, the negative impact of divorce can lead to the formation of a negative self-concept, which has an impact on low levels of self-confidence. This study concludes that it is important for schools and parents to provide appropriate support and guidance so that adolescent students can develop optimal career maturity even though they come from difficult family backgrounds.

Abstract

Berbicara didepan umum adalah keterampilan yang harus dimiliki oleh mahasiswa dengan memperhatikan berbagai faktor salah satunya tentang emosional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh kecerdasan emosional terhadap efikasi diri dalam berbicara di depan umum pada mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Negeri Makassar. Kecerdasan emosional adalah kemampuan untuk mengenali, memahami, dan mengelola emosi diri sendiri serta orang lain, yang diyakini memiliki peran penting dalam meningkatkan keyakinan diri saat berbicara di depan umum. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Negeri Makassar sebanyak 1.703 Mahasiswa dengan sampel sebanyak 320 mahasiswa yang diperoleh melalui sampel size calculator. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuisioner menggunakan skala adaptasi Public speaking self efficacy sebanyak 10 aitem (RMSEA = 0,0826; CFI = 0,934; TLI = 0,907) dengan reliabilitas = 0,860 dan skala adaptasi Kecerdasan emosional sebanyak 22 aitem (RMSEA = 0,0471; CFI = 0,933; TLI = 0,902) dengan reliabilitas = 0,825. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kecerdasan emosional memiliki peran dan secara signifikan berpengaruh terhadap public speaking self efficacy Mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Negeri Makassar dengan kontribusi sebesar 14,9%. Mahasiswa dengan tingkat kecerdasan emosional yang lebih tinggi cenderung memiliki self efficacy yang lebih tinggi dalam berbicara di depan umum. Implikasi dari penelitian ini yaitu kecerdasan emosional yang dimiliki mahasiswa psikologi memberikan efikasi diri dalam berbicara di depan umum.

Abstract

To support the government’s program in preventing the spread of COVID-19 virus, it is expected to reduce direct communication between fellow students and lecturers. The purpose of this research to create interactive media that can provide consulting service for students with academic advisor (PA) without direct contact. It is expected for this research, students can be more proactive in interacting with their academic advisor in discussing academic and non-academic problems. The method used in this research is using Android Studio and Visual Studio Code as an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and using a no-relational (NoSQL) realtime database on firebase. The advantage of this research is that the system to be developed does not use physical servers anymore but all databases are stored in the cloud system. The result of this research is chatroom application consisting of 7 modules namely application login with username and password, searching user, chatting user, list consultation, student input consultation, edit data consultation, and account setting.

Abstract

Kesulitan belajar matematika akibat diskalkulia hingga hari ini masih belum banyak diketahui penanganan atau intervensinya.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penanganan atau intervensi yang dapat diberikan kepada siswa yang mengalami diskalkulia. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan yakni metode kepustakaan atau library research. Teknik yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakana data sekunder. Tahap penelitian yang dilakukan yakni mengumpulkan data, mereduksi data, menyajikan data, dan menarik kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh yakni memberikan bimbingan belajar individual, memberikan braingym, pemberian soal secara bertahap dan berkelanjutan, model psikoedukasi,  model  kognitif,  model  medis,  model  neuropsikologis  dan  model  kognitif, serta pengembangan media gambar terhadap diskalkulia di sekolah dasar.Kata Kunci: intervensi, kesulitan belajar, diskalkulia
