Abstract

This study examines the shift in the function of peace (ishlah) in households during the divorce process in the Seberang Kota Jambi area. The high divorce rate in Indonesia, including in Jambi, indicates that peace efforts that should be the last bastion of household integrity are not running optimally. In the context of the Jambi Malay community which is thick with Islamic customs and sharia values ​​(Adat Bersendi Syarak, Syarak Bersendikan Kitabullah), ishlah has a crucial role as a conflict resolution mechanism based on deliberation and family. However, the reality in the field shows a change in the practice of ishlah along with the increasing legal formality in the divorce process. The results of the study show that the function of ishlah has shifted from its ideality as a substantive effort to a mere formality in the divorce process in Seberang Kota Jambi. Peace efforts at the family or customary level tend to be less effective due to the lack of commitment from the disputing parties. Mediation in the Religious Court, although mandatory, is often perceived as only an administrative procedure that is less successful in restoring harmony. The main factors driving this shift include: increasing individualism in society, the dominance of positive legal channels of the Religious Court which are considered more certain, and the weakening of the role and authority of the Jambi Malay Customary Institution (LAM) or community leaders in intervening in domestic conflicts. This shift has an impact on the high divorce rate and thus has the potential to cause more severe psychosocial impacts for the parties involved.

Abstract

Global dependence on fossil fuels continues to drive the search for cleaner, more sustainable energy sources. One promising technology is the Parabolic Dish Collector (PDC), harnessing concentrated solar energy. The receiver in a PDC is pivotal to overall thermal efficiency and useful energy output. This study evaluates the thermal and exergy performance of a manufactured flat spiral-tube receiver designed to enhance heat transfer. Experiments were conducted under tropical condition between 10:00 and 14:00 local time at three volumetric flow rates (0.5, 0.8, and 1.1 LPM). The 0.5 LPM flow rate yielded the best performance, with a fluid temperature rise up to 43.8°C, a thermal efficiency of 39.1%, and a peak exergy efficiency of 1.1%. The spiral geometry improved fluid residence time, enabling more effective heat absorption. These findings demonstrate that a simple, manufactured spiral tube receiver can improve PDC performance, offering an efficient and cost-effective solution for solar thermal systems.

Abstract

This paper addresses the critical issue of hate speech detection in social media, a growing concern given the widespread use of online platforms for communication and information dissemination. The proliferation of hate speech contributes to online harassment, discrimination, and the propagation of harmful ideologies, posing significant societal challenges. This study proposes a machine learning-based approach for identifying and classifying hate speech across various social media datasets. We leverage a comprehensive collection of parsed datasets, including those related to aggression, attack, toxicity, and specific instances from Twitter (general, racism, sexism), YouTube, and Kaggle. The methodology involves data preprocessing, feature extraction, and the application of machine learning algorithms to effectively distinguish hate speech from benign content. Our findings aim to contribute to the development of robust automated systems for content moderation, fostering safer and more inclusive online environments.

Abstract

This study analyses the impact of environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance on the stability and performance of Islamic banks, considering the moderating role of diversity and inclusion. Using panel data from 60 Islamic banks in 11 Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries during the period 2014-2023, the research finds that ESG performance positively affects the stability and performance of Islamic banks, confirming the role of sustainability in enhancing the financial resilience of the Islamic banking sector. However, this study also finds that diversity and inclusion weakens the positive impact of ESG performance on the stability and performance of Islamic banks. Additional analysis shows that these results are consistent only in the environmental and social pillars. These findings highlight the importance of managing diversity and inclusion to enhance ESG implementation in Islamic banks. Poorly managed diversity and inclusion efforts may weaken ESG effectiveness, hindering performance and stability. For stakeholders, including investors and regulators, fostering inclusion is essential to support sustainability and long-term stability.

Abstract

Penurunan kinerja modul Photovoltaic (PV) akibat meningkatnya temperatur permukaan masih menjadi tantangan utama yang membatasi efisiensi konversi energi listrik. Salah satu solusi yang potensial adalah menambahkan heatsink pada bagian bawah modul sebagai media pelepas panas. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis sekaligus membandingkan kinerja termal heatsink dengan konfigurasi sirip vertikal dan sirip bersegmen terhadap variasi arah aliran udara. Simulasi numerik dilakukan menggunakan ANSYS Fluent (CFD) melalui beberapa tahapan: perancangan geometri PV dan heatsink, pembuatan mesh, penentuan boundary condition, serta pengujian variasi sudut aliran udara sebesar 0°, 22,5°, 45°, 67,5°, dan 90° dengan kecepatan 2 m/s. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa heatsink dengan sirip bersegmen mampu menurunkan temperatur maksimum permukaan PV hingga 3 °C (5,6%) dibandingkan sirip vertikal pada sudut aliran 0°. Selain itu, perubahan sudut aliran memberikan pengaruh lebih besar pada sirip vertikal dengan selisih temperatur rata-rata 1,7 °C, sementara pada sirip bersegmen hanya 0,5 °C. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa konfigurasi sirip bersegmen lebih adaptif terhadap dinamika arah aliran udara, sehingga berpotensi diterapkan pada kondisi nyata dengan karakteristik angin berubah-ubah. Nilai kebaruan (novelty) penelitian ini terletak pada pemodelan numerik yang secara langsung membandingkan kinerja sirip vertikal dan sirip bersegmen terhadap variasi arah aliran — topik yang masih jarang dilaporkan dalam studi pendinginan pasif PV.

Abstract

Tracer study berperan penting dalam mengevaluasi kualitas layanan pendidikan berdasarkan pengalaman alumni. Analisis kepuasan alumni terhadap fasilitas pembelajaran umumnya masih terbatas pada statistik deskriptif, sehingga belum mampu mengungkap pola kepuasan secara tersegmentasi pada data berskala besar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi pola segmentasi kepuasan alumni terhadap fasilitas pembelajaran di Universitas Islam Negeri Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau (UIN Suska Riau) sebagai indikator penting dalam evaluasi kualitas layanan pendidikan. Metode yang digunakan adalah K-Means Clustering, diimplementasikan melalui tahapan Knowledge Discovery in Database (KDD) pada 6.508 data tracer study alumni S1 lulusan 2010–2023. Proses preprocessing mencakup normalisasi data numerik menggunakan Min-Max Scaling untuk menyamakan skala enam indikator kepuasan (Perpustakaan, Teknologi Informasi, Modul Belajar, Ruang Belajar, Laboratorium, dan Variasi Mata Kuliah), sehingga meminimalkan bias dalam perhitungan jarak Euclidean. Berdasarkan Elbow Method, diperoleh jumlah klaster optimal adalah K=3, dan kualitas pengelompokan divalidasi dengan nilai Davies-Bouldin Index (DBI) sebesar 0,874, mengonfirmasi stabilitas klaster yang terbentuk. Analisis menghasilkan tiga klaster berbeda: Klaster 0 (Tingkat Kepuasan Tinggi) yang dominan, Klaster 1 (Tingkat Kepuasan Rendah), dan Klaster 2 (Tingkat Kepuasan Sangat Tinggi). Hasil ini memberikan segmentasi kepuasan yang eksplisit sebagai dasar bagi universitas untuk merumuskan strategi peningkatan fasilitas secara terarah dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this community service program in Pesawaran Indah Village is to introduce sustainable drying technology powered by Micro-Hydro Power Plants (PLTMH) to improve the efficiency and quality of post-harvest processing in the village's coffee, cocoa, clove, and nutmeg farming sectors. Methodology: The program utilized a community-based approach that involved socializing the benefits of PLTMH-powered drying technology, determining strategic locations for its implementation, and constructing a drying machine with a capacity of 4 x 20 kg. The program also focused on enhancing the community's knowledge of energy sources and drying techniques through workshops and discussions. Results: The program successfully increased community awareness of energy-efficient drying technology, with understanding rising from 20% to 80%. The construction of the drying machine was completed, and the community was encouraged to adopt this technology, which is expected to enhance agricultural product quality, promote sustainable energy use, and empower local farmers. Conclusion: The program effectively introduced a sustainable technology that supports local agricultural practices and promotes the use of renewable energy. The adoption of this technology is expected to benefit the community by improving post-harvest processing and increasing the value of agricultural products. Limitations: The program's scope was limited to a small-scale implementation, and further efforts are needed to monitor its long-term impact on product quality and community adoption. Contribution: This community service program contributes to promoting sustainable agricultural practices and renewable energy use in rural communities, offering a model for enhancing local economic development through appropriate technology.

Abstract

The background of this research is the lack of variation in teaching materials and the reliance on traditional teaching methods, which affects the low causality thinking skills of students in schools. The aim of this research is to create digital teaching materials in the form of a scrapbook that can serve as a tool to improve students' causality thinking skills in history learning at SMA N 1 Banuhampu. This research uses a mixed-method approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and reinforced by administering simple tests to students. In this way, the researcher can analyze the needs in developing digital scrapbook teaching materials. Based on these findings, the researcher found that there is a lack of variety in teaching materials, and many teachers and students still use conventional teaching materials during learning. Considering the problems that have been identified, the researcher plans to develop teaching materials utilizing technology. The use of technology will help create diverse learning styles that can be adapted and serve as support in enhancing students' causal thinking skills. The digital scrapbook teaching materials developed by the researcher in this study provide an opportunity for students to better understand the learning material, thereby improving their causal thinking skills in history learning.

Abstract

Abstract: Digital transformation has become a major force shaping the dynamics of the global economy, including Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia. Amid technological disruption and changing consumer behavior, the ability of MSMEs to innovate is a key factor in maintaining business sustainability. However, innovation efforts are often oriented solely toward technical and economic aspects, without considering the underlying philosophical dimensions and scientific values. Therefore, this study examines the role of the philosophy of science in the development of digital-based MSME innovation, emphasizing the three main pillars of the philosophy of science epistemology, ontology, and axiology as a conceptual framework. Methodologically, this study employs a qualitative approach based on a literature review by examining books, scientific journals, and previous research findings published over the past ten years. The results indicate that the philosophy of science plays a central role in shaping a scientific, reflective, and ethical mindset among MSME actors. The epistemological dimension helps MSMEs understand innovation as a systematic scientific knowledge process; the ontological dimension guides business actors to interpret innovation as a form of existence and social value in the digital era; while the axiological dimension emphasizes the importance of ethics, social responsibility, and sustainability in the application of technology. These three dimensions are integrated in creating innovation that is not only economically efficient but also meaningful from a humanitarian perspective. This study concludes that the development of digital-based MSME innovation in Indonesia needs to be grounded in the philosophy of science to achieve a balance between technological progress and moral values. This approach can foster the creation of a sustainable, inclusive, and socially just digital business ecosystem. Thus, the philosophy of science is not merely an abstract academic discipline, but also a practical foundation for building ethical, knowledge-based, and highly competitive MSME innovation. Keywords: Philosophy of Science, Epistemology, Ontology, Axiology, Digital Innovation, MSMEs Abstrak: Transformasi digital telah menjadi kekuatan utama dalam membentuk dinamika perekonomian global, termasuk bagi Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) di Indonesia. Di tengah disrupsi teknologi dan perubahan perilaku konsumen, kemampuan UMKM untuk berinovasi menjadi kunci utama dalam menjaga keberlanjutan bisnis. Namun, inovasi yang dilakukan sering kali hanya berorientasi pada aspek teknis dan ekonomi, tanpa mempertimbangkan dimensi filosofis dan nilai-nilai ilmiah yang mendasarinya. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini mengkaji peran filsafat ilmu dalam pengembangan inovasi UMKM berbasis digital, dengan menekankan tiga pilar utama filsafat ilmu epistemologi, ontologi, dan aksiologi sebagai kerangka konseptual.Secara metodologis, kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif berbasis studi literatur dengan meninjau buku, jurnal ilmiah, dan hasil penelitian terdahulu dalam kurun waktu sepuluh tahun terakhir. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa filsafat ilmu memiliki peran sentral dalam membentuk pola pikir ilmiah, reflektif, dan etis pada pelaku UMKM. Dimensi epistemologi membantu UMKM memahami inovasi sebagai proses pengetahuan ilmiah yang sistematis; ontologi menuntun pelaku usaha untuk memaknai inovasi sebagai wujud eksistensi dan nilai sosial dalam era digital; sedangkan aksiologi menekankan pentingnya etika, tanggung jawab sosial, dan keberlanjutan dalam penerapan teknologi. Ketiga dimensi ini saling terintegrasi dalam menciptakan inovasi yang tidak hanya efisien secara ekonomi, tetapi juga bermakna secara kemanusiaan. Kajian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pengembangan inovasi UMKM berbasis digital di Indonesia perlu berlandaskan pada filsafat ilmu agar tercipta keseimbangan antara kemajuan teknologi dan nilai moral. Pendekatan ini mampu mendorong terciptanya ekosistem bisnis digital yang berkelanjutan, inklusif, dan berkeadilan sosial. Dengan demikian, filsafat ilmu tidak hanya menjadi disiplin akademik abstrak, melainkan juga fondasi praktis dalam membangun inovasi UMKM yang beretika, berpengetahuan, dan berdaya saing tinggi. Abstract

Patients with diabetes mellitus may experience peripheral neuropathy and extremity system impairment, which may lead to ulceration if the treatments are delayed. Diabetic ulcers, unfortunately, are chronic, which require proper treatments, including debridement and bacterial removal using an irrigation device. To date, commercial irrigation devices included pulsed-lavage, bulb syringe, and gravity bags. Unfortunately, the devices have limitations in terms of portability, measurability, controllability, and disposability. To tackle the limitations, this study aims to design, fabricate, and characterize an automated portable wound irrigation device (Apdice), which is controllable non-disposable, and portable. The device was designed and fabricated using a lightweight construction, a rechargeable battery, and non-disposable materials to support the portability and non-disposable means. Meanwhile, the proportional-derivative-integral controller with its peripheral components were featured to enable controllability. Furthermore, the device was also tested regarding the contamination using a particle counter, and appeared to be contamination free. In short, Apdice showed a robust technological performance. However, it is also worth the try to test the contamination test against biological agents to guarantee the biocompatibility of the device.
