Abstract

CH₃NH₃PbI₃₋ₓBrₓ perovskite films were successfully synthesized under uncontrolled humidity using a two-step spin-coating method followed by Ostwald ripening (OR) treatment. Bromide incorporation into CH₃NH₃PbI₃ was achieved by diluting the pre-formed CH₃NH₃PbI₃ films with CH₃NH₃Br (MABr) solutions at various concentrations. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis confirmed the formation of a tetragonal perovskite phase with reduced lattice parameters as the bromide concentration increased, indicating successful substitution of I⁻ by Br⁻ ions. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) characterization showed that moderate bromide incorporation (30–40 mg/mL) produced dense and uniform grains with homogeneous halide distribution, whereas excessive MABr resulted in non-uniform morphology and halide segregation, particularly under humid conditions. Optical analysis revealed a gradual blue shift of the absorption edge, consistent with band gap widening due to lattice contraction. Photovoltaic performance measurements demonstrated that higher MABr concentrations led to decreased current density and fill factor, attributed to excessive bromide content and defect formation. These findings indicate that controlled bromide incorporation via Ostwald ripening using an MABr concentration of 20 mg/mL effectively enhances the structural quality, film stability, and photovoltaic performance of CH₃NH₃PbI₃₋ₓBrₓ perovskite solar cells under humid environments.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of integrating Project-Based Learning (PjBL) with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and virtual laboratories in enhancing 21st-century scientific literacy among junior high school students. A quasi-experimental design employing a one-group pretest–posttest model was used, involving 25 seventh-grade students from SMP Negeri 11 Yogyakarta. Data were collected using a scientific literacy test encompassing three dimensions: explaining phenomena scientifically, interpreting data and scientific evidence, and evaluating and using scientific information. The results revealed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (p < 0.05), with a normalized gain score of 0.62 categorized as medium. The greatest improvement occurred in the dimension of explaining phenomena scientifically (0.83), followed by interpreting data and scientific evidence (0.67), and evaluating and using scientific information (0.58). The integration of PjBL-STEM with virtual laboratories enhanced students’ conceptual understanding, scientific reasoning, and inquiry skills through interactive and contextual learning experiences. These findings demonstrate that the hybrid PjBL-STEM model, supported by virtual laboratory simulations, effectively promotes 21st-century scientific literacy. Moreover, this study provides empirical evidence on how the integration of PjBL-STEM and virtual laboratories can bridge the gap in scientific literacy development within Indonesian secondary education.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the Learning Community on the Independent Teaching Platform LMS in improving teacher basic competencies and its impact on teacher performance and student learning outcomes. The study used mixed methods with a sequential exploratory model. The qualitative phase was conducted through interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs), observation, and documentation, while the quantitative phase used questionnaires for 55 elementary, junior high, and high school teachers in Wonosobo Regency. Qualitative data analysis was assisted by NVivo 12 software, and quantitative data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the Learning Community improved teachers' pedagogical competency with an average score of 3.0 (good category), professional competency of 3.27 (good), personality competency of 3.23 (good), and social competency of 2.77 (fairly good). As many as 67% of teachers participate in Learning Communities due to mandatory requirements and performance assessments, which has shifted the function of learning communities. Learning Communities should serve as a forum for collaboration, reflection, sharing of best practices, and strengthening technological literacy, all of which positively impact teacher professionalism, teaching quality, and student learning outcomes. However, extrinsic motivations are more predominant, focusing more on administrative fulfillment than professional development. The results of this study provide encouragement for learning communities to provide more internal motivation in teacher professional development
