Abstract

This study aims to understand the teacher's efforts in increasing students' interest in learning through the application of the Gallery Walk method in learning fiqh in class X SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Karanganyar. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Teachers try to increase students' interest in learning by using the Gallery Walk learning method. This method involves students directly in the learning process. The application of this method aims to make the learning atmosphere not monotonous so that students feel interested in participating in learning, students are actively involved in learning as well. The results of this study showed a significant increase in student interest in learning, the level of student attention in participating in fiqh learning before this method was 60% to 75% after the application of this method. In addition, there is an increase in student interest from 65% to 80%. In addition, the application of this method also increased students' active involvement from 65% to 75% because they actively asked questions, discussed with the group. However, in applying the learning method the teacher experienced obstacles such as limited learning time of only 45 minutes and difficulty conditioning students. The solutions given include dividing the learning time into 2 meetings and giving consequences to students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the leadership of school principals in improving teacher performance at SMK Negeri 1 Banyudono Boyolali. The methodology of this research uses a descriptive qualitative approach, namely information in the form of letters rather than numbers. The key to this research is the principal and the teacher. This is because the principal and teachers are directly involved in the learning process at SMK Negeri 1 Banyudono Boyolali. The data collection techniques are observation, interviews and document studies. The leadership of the principal is expected to have the ability to move, influence, motivate, direct, and nurture teachers, so that a high work ethic, creativity and productivity are born in achieving goals. Teacher performance is the result of teachers' work that is reflected in how to plan, implement, and assess the teaching and learning process. The results of the study show that the leadership of school principals in improving teacher performance is good, namely the commitment to enforce the discipline of teachers' working time in schools and provide motivation for teachers and empower teachers by paying attention to their achievements in improving their work ethic. Teachers' performance improved with the enforcement of discipline and teachers' work motivation at school, both including their presence at school and class, discipline in presenting subject matter and punctuality when leaving the classroom after completing the subject matter. Motivation and Empowerment of teachers by paying attention to their achievements in improving their work ethic and providing awards, congratulations, and appreciation either in the form of charters or incentives for outstanding teachers. Thus, it was concluded that the leadership of the principal in improving the performance of teachers at SMK N 1 Banyudono Boyolali greatly contributes to the progress of learning quality so that it can encourage the quality of education and success in the world of education, especially at SMK N 1 Banyudono Boyolali.

Abstract

Character education has a fundamental role in shaping a moral and noble generation. One important aspect of character education is the internalization of religious character values which is the foundation for the development of other positive characters. This study aims to describe and explore how the internalization of religious character values is carried out through the habituation of religious activities at SMPIT Ar-Risalah Sukoharjo. By using descriptive qualitative research method, this study analyzes students' involvement in various religious activities classified based on the frequency of implementation, namely daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly. The results show that the habituation of religious activities, such as morning dhikr, dhuha prayer, dhuhur prayer in congregation, and Islamic-based extracurricular activities, plays a role in shaping students' religious attitudes and behaviors.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan bagaimana proses kaderisasi ulama muhammadiyah sebelum berdirinya Pendidikan Ulama Tarjih Muhammadiyah (PUTM). Kajian ini merupakan penelitian studi pustaka yang menggunakan sumber literatur berupa buku, dokumen, dan arsip yang berhubungan sebagai bahan kajian utamanya. Hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa adanya kaderisasi Ulama Muhammadiyah secara sistematis di Muhammadiyah ialah setelah berdirinya PUTM, namun usaha melahirkan ulama Muhammadiyah sudah ada sejak awal berdirinya lembaga pendidikan di Muhammadiyah, mulai dari Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Diniyah Islamiyah (Sekolah Kiai), Volkschool Muhammadiyah Kauman Yogyakarta, Standaardschool Muhammadiyah, Al-Qismul Arqa, Pondok Muhammadiyah, Kweekschool Islam/ Kweekschool Islam Moehammadijah, Madrasah Mu’allimin Muhammadiyah, Madrasah Zu’ama dan Za’imat Muhammadiyah.

Abstract

Abstract: This study explores the strategic role of Islamic libraries in shaping civilization, emphasizing their historical foundations, contributions of major libraries, and the challenges of preserving manuscripts in the modern era. The study employs a qualitative descriptive-analytical approach, focusing on historical literature reviews and thematic analysis to uncover the functions and roles of Islamic libraries throughout different historical periods. The findings highlight that Islamic libraries, such as Bayt al-Hikmah in Baghdad, Dar al-Hikmah in Cairo, and the libraries of Cordoba, were not merely repositories of manuscripts but pivotal centers for education, research, cultural preservation, and knowledge distribution. These institutions facilitated the translation and dissemination of works from Greek, Persian, and Indian traditions, significantly influencing both Islamic and Western intellectual developments. Despite their historical contributions, Islamic libraries faced challenges, including the destruction during the Mongol invasion of Baghdad in 1258 CE and the Reconquista in Andalusia in 1492 CE, which resulted in the loss of invaluable manuscripts. In the modern era, issues such as manuscript deterioration and inadequate preservation facilities persist, highlighting the need for digitization and global collaboration. This study underscores the imperative to safeguard the intellectual legacy of Islamic civilization for future generations.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the process of planning, organizing, implementing, and assessing in an effort to improve the quality of student memorization in the Tahfidz class program at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Klaten. The type of research used is qualitative research with a field research approach. The subjects involved in this study included the principal, Tahfidz coordinator, Tahfidz teacher, and students who participated in the Tahfidz program. Data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation techniques. Data analysis was conducted using an interactive method based on the Miles and Huberman model, while triangulation techniques were used to validate the data obtained. The results showed that the management of the Tahfidz program runs well, especially through cooperation with Griya Qur'an in the learning process. The program is carefully managed to support all stages of its implementation, in accordance with the predetermined objectives. The Tahfidz program management process includes planning which includes educators, selection of students, financing, learning materials, and activity procedures. Organizing is done by preparing an organizational structure in accordance with the duties and responsibilities of each party. Program implementation is carried out through Tahfidz learning activities, and assessment is carried out through several stages of assessment in the learning process that has been prepared previously.

Abstract

Pendidikan humanisme merupakan pendekatan yang mengutamakan pengembangan potensi individu secara holistik, dengan menekankan nilai-nilai kemanusiaan, kebebasan individu, dan moralitas. Tujuan utama dari pendidikan ini adalah membentuk karakter peserta didik yang unggul, dengan menekankan pada aspek kognitif, afektif, dan moral. Penelitian ini berfokus pada implementasi pendidikan humanisme di Ma'had Darul Fikri, sebuah lembaga pendidikan Islam di Ponorogo, yang bertujuan untuk membentuk karakter unggul pada peserta didiknya. Pendekatan humanisme diharapkan dapat menciptakan lingkungan pendidikan yang bebas dari kekerasan, memberikan penghargaan terhadap martabat peserta didik, dan meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, integritas, serta pengendalian diri. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi untuk menggali penerapan pendidikan humanisme di Ma'had Darul Fikri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun pendidikan humanisme berhasil menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang lebih inklusif dan menghargai martabat peserta didik, terdapat tantangan besar dalam implementasinya. Beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi keberhasilan dan kegagalan penerapan pendidikan ini antara lain adalah kurangnya pemahaman yang mendalam dari pendidik mengenai prinsip-prinsip dasar pendidikan humanisme, ketakutan terhadap dampak hukum terkait perlindungan anak, serta ketidakseimbangan dalam penegakan disiplin yang menyebabkan penurunan dalam pembentukan karakter unggul peserta didik. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, penelitian ini merekomendasikan bahwa untuk mengoptimalkan penerapan pendidikan humanisme, perlu adanya penekanan lebih lanjut pada aspek kedisiplinan, tanggung jawab, serta pemahaman yang lebih mendalam bagi pendidik mengenai esensi pendidikan humanisme. Hal ini penting untuk memastikan bahwa pendidikan humanisme tidak hanya menghindari kekerasan, tetapi juga secara efektif membentuk karakter yang kuat dan kritis pada peserta didik.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of learning styles on student achievement. This study used a quantitative approach. This type of research is field research. The population in this study was all grade VIII students of SMP Muhammadiyah 6. The data collection method uses a Likert scale model questionnaire to determine the type of student learning style, while the Akidah Akhlak learning achievement variable uses school documentation in the form of report card scores. The data analysis method used to test the hypothesis is multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that: (1) There is a significant influence between Visual Learning Style on Akidah Akhlak Learning Achievement, which means that the better the Visual, the Learning Achievement will increase. (2) There is a significant influence between Auditory Learning Style and Learning Achievement, which means that the better the Auditory, the Learning Achievement will increase. (3) There is a significant influence between Kinesthetic Learning Style and Learning Achievement, which means that the better Kinesthetic Learning Achievement will increase. (4) The test results of multiple linear regression analysis obtained a calculated F value of 7.235 with a significance value of 0.000 (0.000 < 0.05), meaning that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. This means that the hypothesis that states "Visual, Auditory and Kinesthetic together have a positive and significant effect on Learning Achievement" is accepted. Based on multiple linear regression analysis, it shows the magnitude of the coefficient of determination (r2 square) = 0.191, meaning that the independent variables together affect the non-free variable by 19.1%, the remaining 80.9% is influenced by other variables that are not included in the research model.

Abstract

The plurality of society in Indonesia allows for the emergence of ethnic, racial, and religious-related social conflicts. Religious moderation is therefore needed as an answer to this multicultural condition. Religious moderation should be made a life choice in Indonesia’s society, nation, and state. Education moderation is the best means to achieve this. This research focuses on the paradigm of religious moderation formulated into the concept of Islamic education moderation initiated by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia through Hilda Taba’s education theory related to the development of the Islamic education curriculum. This study aims to provide an overview of the paradigm of educational moderation in Islam to develop a moderate Islamic education curriculum in Indonesia. This library research is based on written literature and the method of data collection through documentation techniques using descriptive analysis techniques. Interpretation is carried out in this study as a means of understanding the study object based on the author’s abilities. Religious moderation can be understood as a procedure for attitudes, views, and behavior that seeks to choose a position in the middle, acting fairly and not extreme in religious practice. There are nine values of strengthening religious moderation in Islamic education: tawassut, i'tidal, tasamuh, ash-shura, al-islah, al-qudwah, al-muwathanah, al-'unf, and i'tiraf al-'urf. These moderate values form the foundation that will be internalized in the development of moderate educational curricula and practices

Abstract

The article discusses the impact of new media on the shift of religious authority in Indonesia. It argues that the development of new media (internet) has shifted the traditional religious authority to more impersonal media such as books, websites, blogs, and the like. Furthermore, progressiveness and openness of the new Media also have supported the acceleration on the so called “Ulama rejuve–nation”. This is due to the fact that, due to such shift (the religious power shifting), a person does not necessarily graduate from pesantren to be Muslim clerics or Ulama. In addition, the shift of religious authority also has contribu–ted to the loosening filter for the emergence of a wide variety religious intereptations that, to some extent, go uncontrolled without limitation.Keywords: new media, religious authority, impersonal media----------------------------------------------------------------------Artikel ini mendiskusikan dampak new media pada pergeseran otoritas keagamaan di Indonesia, dan berpendapat bahwa seiring perkembangan teknologi in–formasi, internet telah memudarkan otoritas keagamaan tradisional dan bergeser pada pada media impersonal, se–perti buku, website, blog, dan sejenisnya. Progresifitas dan keterbukaan new media juga mendorong percepatan pro–ses ”peremajaan ulama” yang tidak mensyaratkan bahwa ulama harus lulusan dari pesantren. Selain itu, intervensi new media memungkinkan percepatan merebaknya pema–haman ”liar” yang sangat berbeda dari arus mainstream.
