Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between decisional autonomy—as an aspect of self-confidence—and student engagement in learning within the Islamic Education program at UIN Raden Intan Lampung. The low levels of student engagement (33 %) and decisional autonomy (34 %) provided the rationale for this investigation. A quantitative ex post facto design was employed with 81 fifth-semester students in the 2024/2025 academic year, selected by simple random sampling from a population of 414. Data were collected via a Likert-scale questionnaire whose validity and reliability had been established. The analysis included tests for normality, homogeneity, linearity, and heteroskedasticity, as well as t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination, all conducted using IBM SPSS Statistics version 23. The results indicate that decisional autonomy has a positive and significant effect on student engagement, with a significance value of 0.017 (p < 0.05) and an F-statistic of 5.906. However, decisional autonomy accounts for only 7 % of the variance in engagement (R² = 0.070), while the remaining 93 % is attributable to factors beyond the scope of this study. This research contributes novel insights by simultaneously revealing the psychological and pedagogical interplay in an Islamic Education context that has traditionally relied on lecture methods and material perceived as insufficiently aligned with students’ career objectives. The findings may inform instructors in designing more interactive and relevant instructional strategies to enhance both decisional autonomy and student engagement.

Abstract

Based on data from the Riau Province P2TP2A UPT 2021, sexual crime cases handled by the Riau Province P2TP2A UPT in the last 3 years from 2016 to 2018, there were 49 cases of sexual crimes against women and children in Pekanbaru City, which showed that in 2016 there were 11 cases, then in 2017 there were 18 cases, and in 2018 it increased again by 20 cases of sexual crimes. Providing sexual education at an early age will have an impact on children's sexual health when they are adults. The way to prevent sexual harassment is by providing education through animation media. Animation media is the movement of an object or image so that it can change position. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of sex education through animated video applications on knowledge in preventing sexual harassment from an early age. This study uses a One Group Pretest Posttest design. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire sheet. The sample was determined by the total sampling method of 35 respondents. The result of the T-test p-value is 0.000 because the value of 0.000 is smaller than <0.05, so it can be concluded that there is an effect of sex education through animated video applications on knowledge in preventing sexual harassment at SDN 04 Lubuk Dalam, Siak Regency so that H0 is rejected. It is recommended that everyone use animated videos to increase knowledge in preventing sexual harassment. Keywords: animated videos, knowledge, sexual harassment

Abstract

Waste management, particularly of organic waste from food residues (food waste), has become an increasingly pressing environmental issue in urban areas such as Pekanbaru City. Tangkerang Barat Sub-district, characterized by high population density and numerous Food Processing Places (TPM), is one of the hotspots for organic waste accumulation. This community service program aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of housewives in managing household organic waste by converting it into eco-enzyme, a low-cost and environmentally friendly solution that is simple to implement. The activities included socialization, training on waste segregation, and hands-on practice in producing eco-enzyme using vegetable and fruit scraps. The fermentation process of eco-enzyme was explained in detail to ensure participants could replicate it independently. Evaluation results indicated that 75% of participants were willing to apply eco-enzyme production at home, and all participants acknowledged the benefits of the training. This initiative is expected to foster a more sustainable and community-based household waste management system. Keywords: organic waste, eco-enzyme, household waste

Abstract

Star fruit is a major commodity in Ponggok Village, Blitar Regency, East Java. However, a significant portion of the harvest is not optimally utilized and often goes to waste. To address this issue, processing star fruit into kombucha offers a promising solution to create new employment opportunities and improve the economic well-being of the community. This community service program was designed to provide the Lumpang Sewu Farmers Group with comprehensive knowledge on the benefits of star fruit, processing techniques, and the production process of star fruit kombucha. The program was implemented in three stages: preparation, execution, and evaluation. The results of the program were highly successful. Post-training, 100% of the participants were able to recognize kombucha as an innovative, value-added product derived from star fruit. Prior to the intervention, 80% of participants primarily used star fruit as fresh fruit. After the training, all participants demonstrated the potential to process star fruit into higher-value products like kombucha. This success is expected to create new economic opportunities and enhance the competitiveness of star fruit-based health products in the market.

Abstract

Non-communicable diseases in the community are often linked to dietary factors. Consuming functional foods can help prevent these diseases. Functional foods can be categorized into three types: unmodified, modified, and prebiotic food. Nata is a fermented food that is rich of fiber, and able to act as a prebiotic. Starfruit (Averrhoa carambola) is a nutritious fruit with potential for various food products, but it is often underutilized. This study explores the possibility of making nata using starfruit, with variations in added liquid: coconut water, palm fruit water, a mixture of both, and mineral water. The macronutrient content (fiber, protein, and fat) of these nata variations was analyzed to assess their nutritional value. The results showed that nata made with coconut water exhibited the highest dietary fiber content (6.93%). Nata made with a combination of coconut water and palm fruit water has the highest protein content (0.48%), and nata made with palm fruit water has the lowest fat content (0.31%), respectively. This finding paves the way for further study in applicating starfruit based functional food products.

Abstract

Farmer groups in Sidorejo Village, Blitar, face significant challenges characterized by the low added value of pineapple harvests and minimal innovation in post-harvest processing, including waste utilization. This community service project aimed to enhance the skills of partner groups in processing pineapple fruit and peel into economically valuable probiotic beverages using fermentation methods packaged attractively. The activity primarily involved the PKK women's group of Sidorejo Village and was conducted in-person. The methodology included education, direct demonstration of product creation, named Pinaboocha (pineapple kombucha) and Pinatepa (pineapple tepache), and packaging mentoring. Post-training evaluation revealed a significant increase in competence while 85% of participants understood the benefits of Pinaboocha and Pinatepa, and 85% expressed interest in developing these beverages into a business. These findings demonstrate that innovating the processing of pineapple fruit and waste through fermentation not only increases product quality but also successfully creates new, sustainable business opportunities based on local potential.
