Abstract

Abstract

This research explores the commercial value of vegetables, especially in the context of consumers' need for sustainable vegetables, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. The main focus is on organic vegetables, which are considered to have higher nutritional value and are free from harmful chemicals. Using the Theory of Planned Behavior approach, this study shows that attitudes, subjective norms, and perceptions of behavioral control influence the intention to repurchase organic vegetable consumers in Surakarta City. Other variables analyzed involve perceived value and customer satisfaction. This research method is quantitative associative, involving 130 respondents aged 20-60 years who have bought organic vegetable products in Surakarta City. Analysis of data utilizing Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) through smartPLS 3.0 revealed positive influences of attitudes, subjective norms, perceptions of behavioral control, and customer satisfaction on the intention to make repeat purchases. Perceived value and customer satisfaction also influence positive attitudes towards organic vegetables. However, the findings showed that perceived value did not have a positive influence on repurchase intent. Based on the results of the study, practical suggestions include increasing public information about the benefits of organic vegetables, expanding availability in markets or supermarkets, and actively promoting the health and environmental advantages of organic vegetable consumption. This effort is expected to strengthen consumer confidence and encourage the intention to repurchase organic vegetables in Surakarta City.

Abstract

The high prevalence of stunting in Sungai Penuh City makes it necessary to identify the causes of stunting in a local context by looking at the classification of residence. Stunting that is not resolved will have an impact on the Lost Generation in the future. This cross-sectional study with data from the Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey in 2022 aims to analyze the prevalence and risk factors for stunting in toddlers in rural and urban areas, so that the problem of chronic malnutrition can be resolved according to the conditions where toddlers live. Data collection was conducted in August-September 2022, while data requests were made in January 2024. The sample was 395 toddlers living in Sungai Penuh City. To see the relationship between the dependent variable and the independent variable, the Chi-square test was performed and to see the relationship between the dependent variable and the independent variable simultaneously, the Logistic Regression test was performed using the IBM SPSS statistics version 25 application software. The results of this study show that the prevalence of stunting in urban areas is higher than in rural areas, but there are no differences in risk factors for stunting, and overall rural-urban in Sungai Penuh City on the variable of birth length with OR (95% CI) 2.30 and maternal education with OR (95% CI) 2.22 shows the risk of having stunted children (p-value <0.005). This study concludes that there are differences in prevalence between rural and urban areas, but there are no differences in the risk factors that cause stunting in toddlers.

Abstract

Waste is a significant environmental issue faced by one of the largest fishing ports in Central Java, PPP Tegalsari. PPP Tegalsari has been reported to have a slum status, evidenced by the accumulation of trash at key points in the port. The purpose of this rapid assessment activity is to evaluate the waste management status and waste conditions in the Tegalsari Coastal Fishing Port area. Primary data was collected through observations, in-depth interviews using an interview guide, and surveys using questionnaires and waste calculation forms, while secondary data was gathered from government stakeholders, scientific journals, and reports from relevant agencies. The results of the Rapid Assessment conducted from June 14, 2021, to June 19, 2021, include infrastructure facilities for waste management, human resources, waste management policies, sources of waste activities, daily waste generation, potential leakage of waste into the sea, waste composition, and waste management in the area, indicating that approximately 2,240 kg/day of waste is generated at the Tegalsari Fishery Port during times of low ship activity, with the fish processing/filleting industry producing the most waste at 652.3 kg/day, while the dock area generates the least amount at 287 kg/day. The handling of plastic waste management on the fishing vessel PPP Tegalsari consists of two methods: direct disposal into the sea and return to the port. The implementation of waste management based on handling and reducing waste is still in its early stages due to the fact that several requirements have not yet been met. It can be concluded that the waste conditions and waste management at PPP Tegalsari require improvements in waste management infrastructure, capacity building, the establishment of waste management institutions, as well as regulatory improvements and the creation of a sustainable waste management system.

Abstract

Tegal City has considerable capture fisheries potential. One of the leading commodities in this area is Red Snapper (Lutjanus sp.), which has a high market demand in Indonesia. On the other hand, the waters off the North coast of Java in general have experienced overfishing and resource degradation. In connection with the above, it is necessary to conduct a comprehensive study involving biological and economic aspects in resource management. This study aims to analyze the bioeconomic aspects of Red Snapper fisheries as well as sustainable management innovations in PPP Tegalsari. This study uses a quantitativ approach, with descriptive-quantitative analysis. The purposive sampling method was carried out for sample determination, while data analysis used CPUE and Bioeconomics analysis. The results of the study show that the utilization of Red Snapper resources at Tegalsari Port produces maximum economic rent (π) and is ecologically safe in the condition of MEY balance compared to the condition of MSY and OAE, which is Rp 14.36 billion. The utilization rate of Red Snapper (Lutjanus sp.) has been in a fully exploited and over-exploited condition. The Red Snapper Effort Level has exceeded the limit of sustainable efforts (f > 100%). This condition is classified as critical because if the catch (effort) is not controlled, it can reduce fishermen's income and cause degradation of fishery resources. Therefore, mitigation efforts are needed by controlling arrest efforts and implementing stricter arrest quotas. The implications of this study are very closely related to the Measured Fishing (PIT) policy where fishing is controlled, proportional, fish resources and the environment are sustainable, as well as equitable economic growth.

Abstract

Abstract

Indonesia has a diverse cultural heritage, including the Baso Culture in Coastal Sibolga, North Sumatra. This culture, orally passed down since ancient times, is at risk of being lost due to minimal documentation. Baso reflects close relationships, especially with blood relatives. The family system of the Sibolga Coastal ethnicity follows the paternal lineage, and Baso terms are adapted to the Coastal Language influenced by Minang, Malay, and Batak languages. This research aims to document the Baso Culture of the Sibolga Coastal ethnicity, which currently has minimal information. The study uses library science with a focus on cultural documentation. The methods employed are action research and Participatory Action Research (PAR), with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and document analysis. The research involves observations to study social behavior and meaning, interviews to deepen information, and data analysis based on references to strengthen the received information. YFKK (Yayasan Forum Komunitas Kreatif) Sibolga Tapanuli Tengah and local cultural experts are involved in the research as part of the PAR approach. The results show that Baso Culture is a way of speaking that reflects the closeness of relationships and a person's position in kinship. The researchers categorized the variations of greetings in Baso into six categories: nuclear family, paternal family, maternal family, male in-laws, female in-laws, and general greetings. Baso Culture is still practiced by the Sibolga Coastal community, but it needs preservation. Preservation efforts are made by documenting it as Instagram content through the accounts of Yayasan Forum Komunitas Kreatif (@tutur.runduk) and the researcher (@lai_bookshelf). This documentation is expected to enrich information and support cultural learning for future generations.
