Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the phonics method combined with alphabet songs on the language and cognitive abilities of 5-6 year old children at Yapita Kindergarten, Surabaya. This study used an experimental design with a quantitative approach, where the sample consisted of 30 children divided into two groups: a control group and an experimental group. The experimental group received treatment in the form of phonics methods with alphabet songs for 4 weeks, while the control group was not given treatment. The data were analyzed using an independent t-test to compare language and cognitive abilities between the two groups. The results showed a significant difference between the control group and the experimental group (p <0.05), where the experimental group experienced a significant increase in language and cognitive abilities after receiving treatment. The use of the phonics method combined with alphabet songs has proven effective in improving the language and cognitive skills of 5-6 year old children at Yapita Kindergarten. Therefore, this method is recommended for use in learning in early childhood education to support children's language and cognitive development optimally.

Abstract

Balita sangat mudah terserang penyakit dan masalah gizi, di antaranya dapat menyebabkan terhambatnya pertumbuhan pada anak. Anak yang terkena stunting beresiko lebih tinggi mengidap penyakit degeneratif dan kematian. Stunting merupakan suatu keadaan kekurangan gizi kronis di akibatkan karna tidak terpenuhinya asupan gizi. Dalam peningkatan pelayanan kesehatan dan upaya pencegahan stunting, Tim Kukerta bersama Puskesmas Pangean memiliki beberapa permasalahan, munculnya gejala stunting di tahun 2021 akibat dampak penyebaran virus corona dan minimnya pengetahuan masyarakat desa Sukaping terhadap stunting. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, maka solusi dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah Sosialiasasi mengenai strategi pencegahan stunting. Hasil evaluasi dari kegiatan pengabdian ini menunjukan meningkatnya pemahaman masyarakat mengenai Stunting.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate public service performance in Nagari Pakan Sinayan by aligning community expectations with service realities. This research employs a quantitative approach using a survey method involving 100 respondents selected through simple random sampling to ensure data representativeness. A structured questionnaire that had undergone validity and reliability testing was used as the primary data collection instrument. The collected data were analyzed using simple linear regression through SPSS to determine the extent to which service quality contributes to community satisfaction. The findings show that service quality has a positive and significant effect on community satisfaction, as indicated by an Adjusted R² value of 31.3% and a significance level of 0.000, which falls below the 0.05 threshold. These results indicate that improvements in responsiveness, reliability, and empathy are essential elements in strengthening public trust and satisfaction with government services. The study concludes that enhancing the competence of nagari government officials and standardizing service procedures are strategic steps needed to align public service performance with community expectations

Abstract

Reading interest among Indonesian communities remains relatively low, including in Montong Are Village, Kediri District, West Lombok. Observations show that the majority of residents, particularly children and adolescents, tend to spend more time on gadgets than on reading activities. To address this issue, the KKN PMD-Literasi team from the University of Mataram implemented the Literacy House and Mobile Library programs as strategic initiatives to foster a reading culture in the community. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach, utilizing direct observation and documentation to assess the community’s reading interest. The results indicated that the Literacy House successfully attracted children to read regularly through the provision of illustrated books, interactive programs such as read-aloud sessions, storytelling, creative writing classes, and traditional games as engagement tools. Meanwhile, the Mobile Library reached remote hamlets, enabling children with limited access to the Literacy House to participate in reading activities. Both programs demonstrated positive impacts in increasing reading interest, boosting the frequency of visits to literacy facilities, and reducing gadget dependency among children and adolescents in Montong Are Village.

Abstract

Low literacy and numeracy levels among elementary school students are a challenge in Indonesia's basic education system. The Teaching Campus Program implemented at SDN 1 Gontoran is one concrete effort to address this issue. Students participating in this program design and implement various creative learning media such as numeracy cards, smart boards, reading corners, reading cards, and educational posters. These activities are supported by a participatory and interactive approach that places students as active participants in the learning process. Pre-test and post-test results for fifth-grade students showed a significant improvement in literacy (from 24% to 73%) and numeracy (from 28% to 60%). This article presents the process of learning media innovation and its impact on improving student learning motivation and academic achievement. The addition of digital adaptation training such as Canva and Excel is also an important point to support 21st-century skills.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the application of Abraham Maslow’s humanistic theory in the learning process of Islamic Education (PAI) to enhance students' self-awareness and responsibility. Challenges such as moral crises and individualism demand a shift in PAI instructional methods, moving from mere cognitive knowledge transfer to a more humanistic approach. The methodology employed in this study is descriptive qualitative with a library research approach. Data were collected through the documentation of relevant literature and analyzed using content analysis and source triangulation. The results of this study indicate that the application of Maslow's hierarchy of needs in PAI creates a student-centered learning environment, where the fulfillment of basic needs (physiological, safety, and love/belonging) is a prerequisite for achieving self-actualization. The integration of art therapy methods proved effective as a medium for creative expression and strengthening the internalization of religious values and social empathy. Supporting factors include the teacher's role as a facilitator and an inclusive school environment, while hindering factors include a rigid academic orientation and limited teacher pedagogical competence in humanistic approaches. This study concludes that Abraham Maslow's humanistic approach can cultivate a holistic Muslim character through a balance of emotional, spiritual, and social aspects.

Abstract

Household organic waste remains a significant environmental issue, particularly in rural areas where most residents rely on agriculture for their livelihoods. This community service program aimed to enhance community knowledge and skills in managing organic household waste through the production of eco-enzyme as liquid organic fertilizer. The program was conducted in Kenagarian Halaban, Jorong Atas Laban, Lima Puluh Kota Regency, involving 10 participants. The methods included community outreach, training sessions, hands-on practice, as well as continuous assistance and monitoring. Eco-enzyme was produced from household organic waste using a 3:1:10 ratio and fermented for 90 days, with 30 days of on-site assistance followed by online monitoring. The results showed that the eco-enzyme produced was dark brown in color with a distinctive acidic but non-putrid odor, indicating a successful fermentation process. The application of eco-enzyme as liquid fertilizer contributed to reducing organic waste volume, increasing environmental awareness, and improving plant growth. Limited community participation was identified as the main challenge, highlighting the need for broader engagement strategies to ensure program sustainability.

Abstract

Antiangiogenesis merupakan suatu proses atau pengobatan yang bertujuan untuk menghambat pembentukan jaringan pembuluh darah baru atau angiogenesis, dengan menghilangkan aliran nutrisi serta oksigen ke sel kanker melalui penurunan jaringan pembuluh darah. Saat ini, berbagai obat antiangiogenesis telah dikembangkan dengan berfokus untuk menghambat faktor-faktor pertumbuhan endotelial seperti VEGF (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor) dan reseptornya, VEGFR-2. Meskipun obat yang digunakan saat ini efektif dalam menghambat angiogenesis, tetapi obat ini juga dikaitkan dengan berbagai komplikasi kardiovaskular. Oleh karena itu, identifikasi senyawa yang efektif dan aman dalam penggunaannya sangat penting. Sudah banyak dilakukan penelitian mengenai senyawa aktif tanaman yang memiliki potensi sebagai agen antiangiogenesis. Peninjauan dilakukan terhadap jurnal untuk artikel Bahasa Indonesia “Antiangiogenesis, Senyawa Aktif Tanaman, Tanaman Herbal, Penghambat VEGFR-2” dan untuk artikel Bahasa Inggris “Anti-angiogenic activity, Active Compounds, Herbal Plants, VEGFR-2 Inhibitors”. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa asam siperenoat dari Croton crassifolius merupakan senyawa paling berpotensi sebagai agen antiangiogenik.

Abstract

Road infrastructure damage, particularly potholes, is a critical issue that contributes to an increased risk of traffic accidents in Indonesia. This condition highlights the need for a road monitoring system that is capable of operating quickly, accurately, and continuously. This study aims to develop and evaluate an automated pothole detection system based on computer vision using the YOLOv8 (You Only Look Once version 8) method, a deep learning algorithm designed for real-time object detection. Dataset collection was conducted through two approaches, namely acquiring data from the Kaggle platform and capturing real-world road images directly using a smartphone camera to enhance data diversity and represent actual road conditions. All collected images were annotated using the Roboflow platform to generate labeled data suitable for model training. The YOLOv8 model was trained using a total of 345 images, consisting of 241 training images, 69 validation images, and 35 testing images. The training results indicate that the model achieved a mean Average Precision (mAP) of 93%, with a precision of 88% and a recall of 82%, demonstrating strong detection and localization performance. Furthermore, real-time testing using a smartphone camera showed that the system achieved an accuracy of over 85% under real-world conditions. These findings demonstrate that YOLOv8 has strong potential as an efficient and reliable automated pothole detection system, supporting road infrastructure maintenance and enhancing road user safety

Abstract

Santri baru di lingkungan pesantren rentan mengalami stres akibat perubahan pola hidup, tuntutan kedisiplinan, serta tekanan akademik dan sosial yang intens, sehingga banyak di antaranya masih menggunakan mekanisme koping maladaptif pada masa awal adaptasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas pelatihan koping stres dalam meningkatkan mekanisme koping santri baru di Pondok Pesantren Al-Qur’an Asy-Syahadah Surabaya. Kesenjangan penelitian terletak pada masih terbatasnya pelatihan koping stres yang terstruktur dan kontekstual yang secara khusus diterapkan pada santri baru perempuan pada fase transisi awal mondok. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain kuasi eksperimen one group pretest posttest terhadap 13 santri baru perempuan melalui lima sesi pelatihan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan koping setelah intervensi diberikan. Skor rata-rata koping meningkat dari 52.46 pada pretest menjadi 74.31 pada posttest, yang mencerminkan perkembangan kemampuan santri dalam mengenali stresor dan menerapkan strategi koping adaptif. Sebelum pelatihan, mayoritas responden berada pada kategori koping maladaptif, sedangkan setelah pelatihan seluruh santri berada pada kategori koping adaptif (100%). Uji Paired Sample T-test menunjukkan nilai signifikansi 0.001 (p<0.05), yang menandakan perbedaan bermakna antara kondisi sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan koping stres efektif sebagai strategi preventif untuk mendukung kesejahteraan psikologis santri baru dan memperlancar proses adaptasi mereka di lingkungan pesantren
