Education has done for foster and develop the potential of learners. An adequate learning resources as a means to produce a good potentiality. Students who take course of Ethnobotany said there is no information resources yet about Ethnobotany. Development of teaching materials expected to be the solution. The type of research is development research. Based on Ethnobotanical studies 65 species from 34 families has found that used for medicines, toxins, beauty, ceremonies, food and shelter. The study was developed into an ethnobotanical textbook which have been validated and feasible to implement.Pendidikan dilakukan untuk menumbuhkan dan mengembangkan potensi peserta didik. Sumber belajar yang memadai menjadi media dalam menghasilkan sumber daya manusia yang berpotensi. Mahasiswa Etnobotani menyatakan belum ada informasi berupa buku atau artikel Etnobotani. Pengembangan bahan ajar diharapkan menjadi solusi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah pengembangan. Ditemukan 65 spesies dari 34 suku yang digunakan oleh masyarakat desa Trunyan untuk menunjang kehidupan untuk obat, racun, kecantikan, keagamaan, pangan dan papan. Proses pemanfaatan dilakukan secara tradisional. Hasil studi dikembangkan menjadi buku ajar Etnobotani yang telah divalidasi dan layak untuk diimplementasikan.

The objective of this research was to know the effect of Project Based Learning (PjBL) to the attitude and student cognitive achievement in SMAN 2 Malang. This research applied quasy experimental with non-equivalent control group design. The populations of this research is all student of class X SMAN 2 Malang on academic year 2008/2009. The samples of this research were class X7 as experimental (PjBL) and class X8 as control (conventional). The instrument of this research namely cognitive achievement test and attitude scale questionnaire to river ecosystem. This research data are quantitative data consisted by score cognitive achievement and attitude scale questionnaire to river ecosystem, collected on 14 Maret until 31 May 2009. Data were analysed by bilinear covariant statistical analysis (Ancova), continued with LSD test. The result of this research indicated that there were PjBL toward the cognitive achievement and student attitude to river ecosystem. Students with PjBl having attitude higher 11,65% from conventional students. Beside, students with PjBl having cognitive achievement higher 81,05% from conventional students. Based on this research, the researcher suggest to the teacher that this strategy can be implemented in biology learning. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan model Learning Cycle 5E dipadu teknik Mind Mapping dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa SMP.Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII SMPN I Malang yang dipilih secara purposive random sampling. Pengukuran data melalui lembar tes keterampilanproses sains yang dianalisis menggunakan statistik parametrik uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 5E dipadu teknik Mind Mapping efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa SMP

[Title: Higher Order Thinking Skills Assessment]. At present, the scope of transformation seems endless, from cars that park themselves without drivers to the production of cars on location through 3D printing. The wearable technology is controlled by the human mind. The coming era of individuals who can face the complexities of life are individuals who have competencies that cannot be replaced by robots, such as empathy, inspiring skills, and higher-order thinking skills. Severe challenges for education to prepare students to become workers who can adapt to new tasks and processes can be overcome by practising higher-order thinking skills. Higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) can be trained in schools through the application of constructivist-based learning models. In education, interrelated models, goals, and assessments are called triangle education anchors. Thus, if you want to learn objectives to achieve higher-order thinking skills, then the implementation of learning (models) and their measurement (assessment) must be managed to achieve these goals.

Critical thinking skills are less empowered in learning. Critical thinking skills can be empowered through cooperative learning. One of learning model combined with cooperative, and can potentially empower critical thinking skills are Remap TmPS (Reading Concept Map Timed Pair Share). The purpose of this study was to determined the effect of Reading-Concept Map Timed Pair Share (Remap TmPS) learning to the critical thinking skills. The research is a quasi experimental research with Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The research sample is X MIA 2 class and X MIA 3 of SMAN 2 Batu. Data obtained from the critical thinking skills that are scored with the essay test rubric critical thinking skills integrated essay test. This data analyzed using anacova test. The results showed Remap TmPS effect on students' critical thinking skills, bercause as each stage of learning gives students the opportunity to practice the skills of critical thinking.Keywords: critical thingking skills, Remap-TmPS

Environmental education (PLH) is important to give in elementary school (SD) early. PLH not only give knowledge and understanding, but also shaping behavior and forming positive attitudes of students on the environment. PLH’s textbook being an important tools to support the implementation of PLH’s learning. However, in some districts/ cities that have been declared as local content PLH (local content) in elementary education, haven’t PLH’s textbooks sufficiently and in accordance with the needs of the field until now. Therefore PLH’s textbook procurement must be realized. In accordance with the 2013 curriculum elementary school PLH’s textbooks is being developed to support scientific approach based learning that includes observing, questioning, associating, experimenting, and networking. The teaching materials is packed with features, “Let’s understand”. The learning activities is packed with features, “Let’s work together”, “Let’s try”, and “Let’s tell. The concept map is packed with features, “Let’s study”. The summary is packed with features, “Let’s summarize. The reflection is packed with features, “Let’s reflect”. This structures not only empower the thinking skill but also encourages the achievement of positive attitudes and behaviors towards the environment. Critical thinking skills needed in learning process to train students to solve problems. In addition, the 21st century need the individuals who have analytical and critical thinking. To prepare students to face the challenges of 21st century life, the critical thinking skills need to be developed. Empowering critical thinking skills can be done through the implementation of Remap STAD learning models. Remap STAD can enhance students' critical thinking skills because it was required students to read in advance, so the students will be trained to read. After reading activity students make a concept map from what they have been read. Furthermore, using Remap STAD learning models can enhance students' thinking skills beacuse students can share their idea in group work. Kata kunci: Remap STAD, Critical Thinking

Critical thinking is one of the skills that students must have to solve a problems in everyday life appropriately. Critical thinking skills have not been empowered well in learning process. That’s skills can be empowered with specific learning models, that was Remap RT (Reading Concept Map Reciprocal Teaching) learning model. The research objective to empower critical thinking skills of first grade students of high schools on the course from Biology by applying Remap RT. The type of research was quasi-experimental research with Pretest-Posttest Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample was the students of X MIA 2 and X MIA 4 in SMAN 2 Batu. Student’s critical thinking skills were measured using an essay test that scored by rubric of critical thinking skills integrated with an essay test. Data were analysis using Anacova test. The results showed Remap RT learning model influence on students' critical thinking skills. Students that learned with Remap RT learning model have critical thinking skills increased by 147.49%, while students that learned with conventional learning-based scientific approaches to increase critical thinking skills by 111.02%. Based on the results, we can conclude that Remap RT learning model has a higher potential in improving students' critical thinking skills than conventional learning-based scientific approach, because of the Remap RT syntax have potential to develop critical thinking skills.Keywords: Critical thinking skills, Remap RT

That skills can be a provision for students to solve a variety problems, including in science learning. Creative thinking skills can not growed by itself, but need stimulated in the form of learning models that helps empower the skills. ABSTRAK Berpikir kritis sebagai isu penting terkini telah menjadi fokus dari banyak penelitian di tahun terakhir. Sampai saat ini, banyak usaha telah dilakukan untuk menunjukkan pentingnya berpikir kritis dalam kehidupan masyarakat. Banyak penelitian telah dilakukan untuk menjelaskan pengaruh berbagai faktor terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji: 1) pengaruh strategi pembelajaran biologi terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis, 2) pengaruh gender terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan 3) pengaruh interaksi strategi pembelajaran biologi dan gender terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis. Rancangan penelitian eksperimen semu (quasi) Non-equivalent Control Group Design. Populasi penelitian adalah semua siswa kelas X SMA Malang. Sampel penelitian ditetapkan dengan teknik purposive sample. Sekolah yang dijadikan sampel penelitian yaitu SMAN 7 Malang, SMAN 9 Malang dan SMAN Gondanglegi. Penentuan sampel dengan mempertimbangkan kesetaraan NUN SMP siswa kelas X. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hal-hal berikut. 1) Strategi pembelajaran biologi berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMA di Malang. 2) Gender berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMA di Malang. 3) Interaksi antara strategi pembelajaran biologi dengan gender tidak berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMA di Malang. Kata kunci: strategi pembelajaran biologi, gender, kemampuan berpikir kritis.
