Abstract

Most teachers agree to implement LMS for learning Biology, but some of them still have difficulties. Most of them thought that LMS helped reduce learning loss after pandemic covid-19. One of them is using a Learning Management system (LMS). CLDW (Culture Literacy Digital Wetland) is one of the innovations as a learning for students. CLDW helps students and teachers improve their activities during online learning, such as discussions. A flipped classroom with a learning management system Systems-based flipped classrooms produce positive learning. CLDW-Flipped Classroom was designed in two phases, namely: first phase; out-of-class was marked by students using CLDW as teaching materials, and second phase; in-class was marked by conducting face-to-face learning in class The research used quasi-experimental research with a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The population of all students in 3 schools then consists of students in SMAN 4, SMAN 7, and MAN 2. The students are class X high school. Sampling was done by selecting two classes that were used as the control class and the experimental class. It is concluded that there is a significant effect on learning outcomes from integrating CLDW in the flipped classroom for learning biology. Overall, using CLDW-flipped classrooms has an effect on improving learning outcome. Flipped classrooms create effective classrooms through interaction with learners. Moving some aspects of the learning process to create extra time for active learning activities through teacher-led class discussions

Abstract

The development of the popular scientific book Ethnobotany of the Bungur plant (Lagerstroemia speciosa) is important because it can raise the local potential of the community in the Bukit Tamiang area and as an enrichment material for the Ethnobotany course in the ULM Biology education program. This study aims to describe the ethnobotany study of Bungur (Lagerstroemia speciosa) in the Bukit Tamiang forest area, Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan and to describe the validity and practicality of the contents of popular scientific books. This method uses two types of research, namely descriptive research, interviews with the public about the Bungur plant and followed by the formative evaluation of the Tessmer test for validation and practicality of the contents of Popular Scientific Books. The results of research on Bungur plants (Lagerstroemia speciosa) in the Bukit Tamiang forest area have various studies including botanical, ethno-ecological, ethno-pharmacological, ethnoanthropological, ethno-economic, and ethno-linguistic studies. The conclusion from the development of a popular scientific book on the study of the ethnobotany of the Bungur plant (Lagerstroemia speciosa) is that expert test results were obtained by two validators with an average value of 90.3% with very valid criteria and the results of the practicality of the content on individual tests by three students getting average results. percentage 3,7% with very good criteria. The advantages of developing a popular scientific book on the ethnobotany study of the Bungur plant (Lagerstroemia speciosa) can be used by students as an enrichment material for Ethnobotany courses and can be read by the wider community because this popular scientific book developed is structured in such a way that it is easily understood by readers. However, the weakness is that the learning material contained in this developed book is insufficient so that further research is needed. Abstrak. Pengembangan buku ilmiah populer Etnobotani tumbuhan Bungur (Lagerstroemia speciosa) penting dilakukan karena dapat mengangkat potensi lokal masyarakat di kawasan Bukit Tamiang dan sebagai bahan pengayaan untuk mata kuliah Etnobotani di prodi pendidikan Biologi ULM. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kajian etnobotani tumbuhan Bungur (Lagerstroemia speciosa) di kawasan hutan Bukit Tamiang Kabupaten Tanah Laut Kalimantan Selatan dan mendeskripsikan validitas serta kepraktisan isi buku ilmiah popular. Metode ini menggunakan dua jenis penelitian, yaitu penelitian deskriptif wawancara kepada masyarakat tentang tumbuhan Bungur dan dilanjutkan evaluasi formatif uji Tessmer untuk validasi dan kepraktisan  isi Buku Ilmiah Populer. Hasil penelitian tumbuhan Bungur (Lagerstroemia speciosa) di kawasan hutan Bukit Tamiang memiliki berbagai kajian diantaranya kajian botani, etno-ekologi, etno-farmakologi, etnoantropologi, etno-ekonomi, dan etno-linguistik. Kesimpulan dari pengembangan buku ilmiah populer kajian etnobotani tumbuhan Bungur (Lagerstroemia speciosa) yaitu didapatkan hasil uji pakar oleh dua validator dengan nilai rata-rata 90,3% dengan kriteria sangat valid dan hasil kepraktisan isi pada uji perorangan oleh tiga mahasiswa mendapatkan hasil rata-rata  persentase 3,7% dengan kriteria sangat baik. Kelebihan dari pengembangan buku ilmiah populer kajian etnobotani tumbuhan Bungur (Lagerstroemia speciosa) ini dapat digunakan oleh mahasiswa sebagai bahan pengayaan mata kuliah Etnobotani dan dapat dibaca oleh masyarakat luas karena buku ilmiah populer yang dikembangkan ini disusun sedemikian rupa sehingga mudah dipahami oleh pembaca.  Namun, kelemahannya yaitu kurang luasnya materi pembelajaran yang dimuat pada buku yang dikembangkan ini sehingga perlu adanya penelitian lanjutan.

Abstract

21st century education requires students and educators to master information, media, and technology to have 6C competencies. One of the teaching materials that is by the demands of 21st-century education is the electronic Student Worksheet. This study aims to describe the validity of the results of the development of electronic worksheets on the concept of the Human Respiratory System for Class XI Senior High School. This research and development use an analysis model (Analysis), design (Design), development (Development), implementation (Implementation), and evaluation (Evaluation) (ADDIE) (Rayanto & Sugianti, 2020), which is limited to the formative evaluation stage. Data collection techniques using validity instruments The research subjects were 3 experts, namely 1 media expert, 1 material expert, and 1 biology subject partner educator at Senior High School (SMAN 4 Banjarmasin). The results of testing the validity of the development of electronic worksheets on the concept of the Human Respiratory System for SMA Class XI show that they are very valid, with an average score of 4.39, which means that electronic worksheets are very valid to be used as teaching materials, especially on the concept of the human respiratory system.

Abstract

The world of 21st-century education requires a generation that can utilize technology and think critically. Nearpod media, which contains indicators of critical thinking skills, is a solution that is expected to increase student engagement and classroom processes. This study investigates the effect of using Nearpod media on students' learning outcomes and critical thinking skills in understanding the discussion of viruses. The quasi-experiment method was used for product cognitive research, while the descriptive approach was used for process cognitive, affective, psychomotor, and critical thinking skills research. The purposive sampling technique was applied to X A and X E students as treatment and control classes. Product cognitive data analysis was conducted using pretest and posttests, which were tested using SPSS 16. The results showed that the use of Nearpod media had a significant effect on product cognitive learning outcomes. In the virus discussion, the cognitive process of using Nearpod media reached the good category, while the affective and psychomotor aspects reached the good and very good categories. Critical thinking results showed an increase in the analysis, interpretation, and evaluation indicators; then, the inference and self-regulation indicators reached the very good category. Explanation reached the good enough category and improved during learning in the experimental class. This study confirms that using Nearpod media can improve students' learning outcomes and critical thinking skills in understanding the discussion of viruses at Islamic Senior High School. Abstrak. Dunia pendidikan abad 21 membutuhkan generasi yang mampu memanfaatkan teknologi dan berpikir kritis. media Nearpod yang memuat indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis menjadi solusi yang diharapkan dapat meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dan proses di kelas. Penelitian ini menginvestigasi pengaruh penggunaan media Nearpod terhadap hasil belajar serta kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik dalam memahami pembahasan virus. Metode eksperimen semu digunakan untuk penelitian kognitif produk, sementara pendekatan deskriptif digunakan untuk penelitian kognitif proses, afektif, psikomotorik, dan kemampuan berpikir kritis. Teknik purposive sampling diterapkan pada peserta didik X A dan X E sebagai kelas perlakuan dan kontrol. Analisis data kognitif produk dilakukan dengan pretest dan posttest yang diuji dengan SPSS 16. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media Nearpod berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar kognitif produk. Pada pembahasan virus, kognitif proses menggunakan media Nearpod mencapai kategori baik, sementara aspek afektif dan psikomotorik mencapai kategori baik dan sangat baik. Hasil kemampuan berpikir kritis menunjukkan peningkatan pada indikator analisis, interpretasi dan evaluasi, lalu indikator inferensi dan pengaturan diri mencapai kategori sangat baik. Eksplanasi mencapai kategori cukup baik dan mengalami peningkatan selama pembelajaran pada kelas eksperimen. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa penggunaan media Nearpod dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar dan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik dalam memahami pembahasan virus di Madrasah Aliyah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan penggunaan Culture Literacy Digital Wetland (CLDW) LKPD berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap penguasaan konsep peserta didik kelas X MIPA 1 SMAN 8 Banjarmasin pada meteri perubahan lingkungan (2) Mendeskripsikan Penggunaan Culture Literacy Digital Wetland (CLDW) LKPD berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap keterampilan generik sains konsep peserta didik kelas X MIPA 1 SMAN 8 Banjarmasin pada meteri perubahan lingkungan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan quasi eksperimen dengan design The Non-equivalent Control Group Design untuk penguasaan konsep dan keterampilan generik sains. Sampel penelitian ini adalah peserta didik  X MIPA 1 diberi perlakuan sebagai kelas eksperimen dan X MIPA 3 sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik analisis data untuk hasil penguasaan konsep menggunakan uji T non-paramterik yaitu Uji Mann-Whitney  dan untuk hasil keterampilan generik sains menggunakan uji Independent Sampel T-Test .Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan (1) tidak terdapat pengaruh Penggunaan Culture Literacy Digital Wetland (CLDW)  LKPD Konsep Perubahan Lingkungan Terhadap Penguasaan Konsep dan Kereampilan Generik Sains Peserta Didik dengan Asymp-Sig(2-Tailed) 0,079>0,05. (2) terdapat pengaruh penggunaan Culture Literacy Digital Wetland (CLDW)  LKPD Konsep Perubahan Lingkungan Terhadap Penguasaan Konsep dan Keterampilan Generik Sains Peserta didik dengan t-hitung 1,99> t-tabel-5,81.Dari hasil penelitian penulis merekomendasikan diperlukannya perbaikan dan pendalaman pemahaman terhadap istilah-istilah asing yang digunakan dalam penelitian dan diperlukannya perbaikan dan diperlukan perbaikan dan penyempurnaan alat evaluasi agar terlihat lebih efektif pengaruhnya terhadap hasil penelitian.

Abstract

Exploration of Heterotrigona itama biology characteristics besides being valuable for health and biodiversity also beneficial as well as an environmental bioindicator. This research aims to evaluate morphology characteristics and nest structure of stingless bee Heterotrigona itama from three different meliponiculture practices (MP1:meliponiculture in the back yard; MP2:meliponiculture in the rubber garden and MP3: meliponiculture in the side yard) in Banjar Regency, Indonesia. The parameters studied are morphology, nest design, colony structure, and environmental suitability. One-way ANOVA at a 95% confidence level was used to analyze differences between parameters. The results show Heterotrigona itama body size average from rubber gardens is bigger (7.11±0.60 mm) than the side yard (6.79±0.34 mm) and back yard (6.64±0.46 mm). The degree of difference is visible in the fore leg (α=0.00<0.05) and hind leg (α=0.004<0.05). The nest structure in MP3 was significantly different than MP1 and MP2, especially in terms of funnel length (p=0.007<0.05) and nest height from the ground  (p=0.000<0.05).  Environmental conditions MP3  (temperature 31.69±1.93 0C, humidity 60.70±11.2 % and water source) is more supportive for meliponiculture than MP2 (disturbed by household waste) and MP3 polluted by chicken farms. Meliponicultures practices based on various locations and environmental characteristics influence several parameters of Heterotrigona itama morphology and nest structure.

Abstract

Students can support their learning process and, of course, acquire a variety of key creativity being one of them by using the Project Based Learning (PjBL) paradigm, besides that it is very suitable in the implementation of the independent curriculum. However, SMAN 13 Banjarmasin school has never applied this learning method in biology learning, especially virus material. This study was to find out how PjBL instruction on virus material affected the class X students at SMA Negeri 13 Banjarmasin's capacity for creative thought. The research strategy utilized is a quasi-experiment, with a control group pre-test-post-test. PjBL learning is applied in one class as an experimental class, and direct instruction learning model—a learning model that is typically implemented—is applied in the control class. The N Gain test and the Mann Whitney U test, which compares the control and experimental classes, are the analysis techniques employed. Because the level of significance was 0.001 <0.05, analysis based on hypothesis testing demonstrated that the PjBL model had a substantial impact on creative thinking skills when compared to the conventional model. The results of this research support the conclusion that applying the PjBL model significantly improves students' capacity for creatuve thinking skills, which is measured using four criteria: 1) Fluency; 2) Flexibility; 3) Originality; and 4) Elaboration.

Abstract

As the times change, science and technology also change, and the educational system must adapt to these developments. Among them is the need that students possess the six Cs of 21st-century skills: communication, character, citizenship, critical thinking, and creativity. Critical thinking abilities for problem-solving are the abilities being developed at the moment. Students are supposed to be able to handle difficulties in their everyday lives using these abilities, which will eventually affect their learning results. Since many instructors still employ teacher-centered learning in the real world, pupils' critical thinking skills are underdeveloped. Problem-based learning is one kind of instruction that may be utilized to enhance critical thinking abilities. This research described how problem-based learning affects student learning outcomes using a systematic literature review that used the PRISMA diagram. Searching for "learning outcomes and problem-based learning," Google Scholar yielded the source. 20 articles were collected and subsequently evaluated. The analysis's findings indicate that problem-based learning may enhance students' learning outcomes. Abstrak. Dinamika zaman yang kian kompleks, ditandai dengan kemajuan pesat dalam bidang ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi, mengharuskan sistem pendidikan untuk secara proaktif melakukan penyesuaian. Salah satu respons terhadap tuntutan zaman adalah pengembangan kompetensi abad ke-21 pada peserta didik. Keenam kompetensi tersebut, yakni komunikasi, karakter, kewarganegaraan, berpikir kritis, dan kreativitas, menjadi modal esensial bagi individu untuk menghadapi tantangan masa depan. Kemampuan berpikir kritis untuk memecahkan masalah adalah kemampuan yang sedang dikembangkan saat ini. Praktik pembelajaran yang masih berpusat pada guru seringkali menghambat pengembangan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang sangat dibutuhkan untuk mengatasi kompleksitas permasalahan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Pembelajaran berbasis masalah hadir sebagai sebuah solusi yang menjanjikan, dengan mendorong peserta didik untuk secara aktif mengembangkan kemampuan kognitif mereka dalam memecahkan masalah, sehingga berdampak positif pada prestasi belajar mereka. Penelitian ini menggunakan diagram PRISMA untuk melakukan tinjauan literatur yang sistematis dengan tujuan untuk menggambarkan bagaimana pembelajaran berbasis masalah mempengaruhi hasil belajar siswa. Sebagai upaya untuk mengidentifikasi literatur relevan, penelitian ini memanfaatkan Google Scholar dengan menggunakan kata kunci "hasil belajar" dan "pembelajaran berbasis masalah". Dari proses pencarian tersebut, diperoleh 20 artikel ilmiah yang kemudian dianalisis secara mendalam. Hasil kajian menunjukkan adanya korelasi positif antara penerapan pembelajaran berbasis masalah dengan peningkatan prestasi akademik siswa.

Abstract

Project-Based Learning (PjBL) is a learning model that actively engages students in educational activities, particularly those emphasizing creativity aimed at developing both products and conceptual understanding. This approach focuses on designing and implementing projects to solve problems while enhancing students' learning outcomes. The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of project-based biology learning (PjBL) on students' academic performance. The research method involves analyzing data sourced from Google Scholar over the past five years. A number of relevant articles were identified and used as reference materials, with 10 articles selected for further analysis. These articles were examined based on the skills developed and their influence on students' learning outcomes in project-based biology education. The findings from the review of these articles conclude that the PjBL model has a positive impact on improving students' academic performance in both high schools and vocational education institutions. Abstrak. Project Based Learning (PjBL) merupakan model dalam pembelajaran yang melibatkan peserta didik dalam kegiatan pembelajaran khususnya yang berkaitan dengan suatu kreatifitas yang berorientasi pada perolehan produk dan konsep baik dalam merancang maupun membuat proyek yang bertujuan untuk pemecahan masalah dan peningkatan hasil belajar pesertaa didik dalam pembelajaran. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini untuk mengungkapkan dampak pembelajaran biologi berbasis proyek (PjBL) terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan analisis  hasil pencarian dari data Google Scholar dengan rentang waktu 5 tahun terakhir. Berdasarkan hasil pencarian diperoleh banyak artikel relevan yang dipergunakan sebagai bahan studi rujukan dalam penelitian. 10 jumlah artikel di data, kemudian dianalisis berdasarkan kemampuan yang dikembangkan dari hasil penelitian pada hasil belajar peserta didik dalam pembelajaran biologi berbasis proyek. Hasil dari analisis telaah dalam review artikel dapat disimpulkan bahwa temuan model pembelajaran PjBL berdampak baik untuk meninkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik baik pada satuan pendidikan di SMA maupun SMK.
