Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of concentration and learning independence on the chemistry learning outcomes of class X students of SMAN 15 Pekanbaru. This type of research is ex-post facto research with a quantitative approach. The population of the study was 157 students with 113 samples. The instruments used for data collection were questionnaires on learning concentration and learning independence. Data analysis in this study was a prerequisite analysis test and a hypothesis test. The results of the data analysis showed that in the F test the significance value was 0.000 <0.05, which means that there is an effect of learning concentration and learning independence on the learning outcomes of students in the chemistry subject of class X SMAN 15 Pekanbaru. In addition, in the t test of learning concentration, a significance value of 0.008 <0.05 was obtained, which means that there is an effect of learning concentration on the chemistry learning outcomes of class X students of SMAN 15 Pekanbaru and in the t test of learning independence, a significance value of 0.020 <0.05 was obtained, which means that there is an effect of learning independence on the chemistry learning outcomes of class X students of SMAN 15 Pekanbaru

Abstract

Abstract

This study situates inclusive education within broader epistemological debates, emphasizing how differing conceptions of knowledge shape differentiated instruction practices across diverse educational contexts . The purpose of this systematic review is to examine how empiricist, constructivist, and hybrid epistemological orientations influence the design and implementation of differentiated instruction in inclusive settings, and to identify contextual factors mediating this relationship. Employing PRISMA 2020 guidelines, a systematic search of the Scopus database (2019–2024) yielded 43 peer-reviewed studies, which were analyzed through thematic synthesis and comparative frameworks. The findings reveal three dominant orientations: constructivist approaches (44%) emphasize student-centered, flexible, and experiential learning; empiricist approaches (30%) prioritize data-driven, structured, and assessment-based practices; while hybrid approaches (26%) integrate both perspectives pragmatically. The review further identifies teacher preparation, policy frameworks, and governance structures as key mediating factors influencing how epistemological beliefs translate into classroom practice. Notably, only 28% of studies reported explicit teacher reflection on epistemological foundations, indicating a gap between theory and practice. The study concludes that epistemological orientations fundamentally shape differentiated instruction and inclusive education outcomes. It proposes the Epistemology-Practice-Context (EPC) model to conceptualize the dynamic interaction between beliefs, contextual conditions, and pedagogical practices. These findings highlight the need for enhancing teachers’ epistemological literacy and aligning policy frameworks with diverse educational contexts to improve the effectiveness of inclusive education.

Abstract

The study aimed to develop a PBL Integrated Ethnoscience-Based e-Student Worksheet focused on redox material, ensuring its validity, and to determine its impact on enhancing students' character values and conservation attitudes. Utilizing the Research and Development (R&D) approach with the Plomp model, the study incorporated various data collection methods such as interviews, student questionnaires, validation sheets, and user response surveys. Validation involved assessments from three material experts and media specialists. Initial trials encompassed one-on-one assessments with students of varying abilities and feedback from teachers and students. The larger-scale trial adopted a pre-experimental Pretest-Posttest Control Group design. The outcomes revealed that the e-Student Worksheet achieved high validation scores from both material and media experts, while feedback from users indicated its effectiveness. Importantly, significant improvements in students' character values and conservation attitudes were observed post-implementation of the e-Student Worksheet, as confirmed by paired t-tests. In summary, the use of the Flip Builder application in crafting the E-Student Worksheet, grounded in PBL and ethnosciences, not only received strong validation but also positively impacted students' character development and conservation perspectives.

Abstract

Blended learning research has been developed recently. Still, research has yet to examine the rationale for emerging trends and issues regarding TPACK and Blended Learning in terms of educational philosophy. This article focuses on analyzing blended learning based on TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge) from the perspective of the philosophy of progressivism. The educational philosophy of progressivism requires making progress consistently and applying it comprehensively, constructively, and innovatively. In progressivism philosophy, every human being also needs a change to be invariably developed and get improvement. The research method used is qualitative. This research uses library research to explore relevant concepts using various writings on blended learning and TPACK and then analyzed using the progressivism theory. This article explores the results of a literature review on blended learning, TPACK, and progressivism philosophy. A few books and articles published from 2006 to 2021 were searched using Harzing's Publish and Perish through Scopus, Google Books, and Google Scholar databases. The systematic review followed the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses) guidelines. The literature review includes 44 articles and books on blended learning, TPACK, and progressivism philosophy. In this context, a conclusion can be drawn where TPACK-based Blended Learning is an innovation in education following the needs and developments of the times, which is the implementation of the philosophy of progressivism. TPACK-based blended learning results from the philosophy of progressivism, which considers education to be moving in the direction of the times. The philosophy of progressivism requires a fundamental change in the implementation of education towards a better, quality, and real benefit for students.
