Abstract

The ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) has been officially implemented since 2015. This has made the movement of information, goods, students, and professional workers in the ASEAN countries increasingly wider. In essence, Indonesia has prepared an education system to be ready and compete in the MEA by preparing professional human resources. However, there are still obstacles encountered in building competency-based human resources for competition in the MEA. To achieve a Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) in the field of construction services, a synergy of stakeholders from the government, industry, education, and associations is needed to train and prepare each individual to become a professional who can compete in the MEA era. Keywords: MEA, Mutual Recognition Arrangement, Institutional Synergy

Abstract

Internship is a stage of education in Vocational High Schools that trains students to adapt to the business world and practice the competencies they learn in school directly in the industrial world. But unfortunately, not all vocational students who take part in internship programs in the industrial world can be well received. This study wants to look more deeply into how strategic management empowers Vocational High Schools in preparing students for the internship. This research uses mixed methods, more specifically the Embedded Design. Samples were taken randomly as many as 61 teachers and 353 students using the random sampling technique. Through SPACE Matrix analysis, it is known that the appropriate strategy in developing schools is to support an aggressive approach, namely by implementing the SO (Strategy to use power to reach opportunity) strategy. So it can be explained that the profile of Vocational High School 1 Kademangan is stable and can continue to prepare internship students with plans to take advantage of existing opportunities to improve the quality of education.

Abstract

Donomulyo is one of the villages in Malang district with several potential villages, including plantations, tourism, and religion. Sugarcane plantations are the village's leading commodity with strategic value based on physical considerations regarding soil conditions, water conditions, climate, socio-economics, and the profession of the majority of villagers. The area of the sugar cane plantation reaches around 51 hectares. However, these potentials are not well known by the public. This layout design is used as an illustration of the development of sugarcane plantations in Donomulyo Village. The development of this potential will lead to the creation of educational tourism for cultivation and compost sugarcane. Therefore, making this layout design is an attempt to optimize the village's potency, especially sugarcane plantations, as an introduction to educational facilities for the community and public. The cultivation and compost educational tourism will become a center of the agricultural sector in Donomulyo Village and will certainly provide additional knowledge to the community regarding the cultivation and maintenance of the agricultural and plantation sectors, which are the professions of the majority of villagers. The existence of this educational tourism will also be a way to improve the economy of Donomulyo Village.

Abstract

Packaging Village, Kediri City District is one of the areas in Kediri City, which is famous for its cultural arts village, especially Jaranan. So many people know it as the "Kampung Pecut." The branding of the "Kampung Pecut" has been carried out, primarily through various performances held to introduce "Pecut" arts and "Pecut" crafts. However, the Covid-19 pandemic has limited promotional activities due to a ban on holding shows. It causes an economic downturn for the arts and "Pecut" craftsmen. So as an effort to overcome this problem, the community service team conducts training and assistance to optimize the sale of "Pecut" handicrafts and the completeness of the art of “Jaranan” through digital media. Based on the results of the joint evaluation, information obtained that this mentoring activity was constructive for art actors to increase their ability to promote"Pecut” arts and "Pecut" crafts to the broader community. So that is expected to improve the economy of the art performers. After the mentoring process is deemed sufficient by paying attention to the evaluation results and seeing the use of media directly, the direct mentoring process stops. However, indirect assistance (monitoring and communication) continued to develop and implement to obtain maximum results and maintain the sustainability of the technology used

Abstract

Abstract: This research, based on reports published by Modern Language Association, analyzed enrollments in languages other than English in United States institutions of higher education from 2002 to 2016. Results show that American college students’ interest on foreign languages have been increasing unsteady since the 1950s, but the increasing rates kept low; and given the factors like the Great Depression since 2009, college students’ interests on foreign language and other disciplines of humanity have dropped abruptly. The enrollment of Chinese classes has reached its peak in 2013 but then experienced a 13 percent decrease. This study suggests, to promote Chinese education in the US, teachers should develop practical contents and encourage students to study advanced classes, and government of China should develop its soft power to attract more students to study Chinese.

The methods used are observation, analysis of potentials and problems, implementation through counseling and training, and evaluation. Evaluation is carried out through questionnaires before and after training, as well as monitoring in the field. The hydroponic system used is an axis system, and a DFT (Deep Flow Technique) system. The results of the evaluation showed that there was an increase in knowledge and skills in the trainees. Knowledge of the notion of verticulture hydroponics increased quite sharply from 21.25% to 95%. Hydroponic farming skills have also improved, ranging from seed seeding, and plant removal, to plant care. The mothers' awareness of using second-hand goods to grow crops is also very good.
