Abstract

Critical thinking skills are one of the abilities that students must have in order to facilitate processing and analyzing the information obtained, as well as selecting or making the right decision about a problem in physics learning. This study aims to measure students' critical thinking skills using a video-assisted problem-based learning model. Syllabus, lesson plans, teaching materials, worksheet, learning videos, and test instruments are learning tools on elasticity and Hooke's law that support this research. The research method uses a quasi experiment with a One-Group-Pretest-Posttest design. A total of 30 students in class XI MS 2 in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 school year at SMAN 1 Kediri became research participants. Data collection techniques using worksheet and critical thinking ability test instruments. worksheet is used in order to facilitate critical thinking skills during learning activities, and the assessment scores are converted into percentages and then classified into the criteria for critical thinking skills. Test instruments are also used as pretests and posttests to measure critical thinking skills before and after learning activities, and the results are analyzed using the N-Gain test and interpreted into effectiveness interpretations. The results of the worksheet assessment showed that students' critical thinking skills were 82.22% with very critical criteria, and the N-Gain test instrument was 0.57 in the moderate improvement category and included in the criteria for being quite effective. So it can be concluded that there is an increase in students' critical thinking skills by using a video-assisted problem-based learning model and effective use in learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Learning Cycle 5E terhadap penguasaan konsep dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada materi elastisitas dan hukum hooke. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi experiment dengan desain penelitian Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas XI MAN 1 Mataram yang berjumlah 138 orang. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas XI IPA 1 yang berjumlah 35 orang sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas IX IPA 4 yang berjumlah 34 orang sebagai kelas kontrol. Sampel pada penelitian ini dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen test yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 20 soal pilihan ganda untuk penguasaan konsep dan 6 soal uraian untuk kemampuan pemecahan masalah, soal tersebut telah diuji validitas, reabilitas, tingkat kesukaran, daya beda soal, dan analisis fungsi pengecoh sehingga dapat digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penguasaan konsep peserta didik memperoleh nilai rata-rata untuk kelas eksperimen yaitu 74,00 dan nilai rata-rata untuk kelas kontrol yaitu 68,67, sedangkan untuk kemampuan pemecahan masalah menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen yaitu 69,14 dan nilai rata-rata untuk kelas kontrol yaitu 58,52. Uji prasyarat analisis data posttest tes penguasaan konsep dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah terdistribusi normal dan homogen. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan uji MANOVA berbantuan IBM SPSS 16. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,00 dengan taraf signifikan yang ialah 0,05, sehingga dapat dinyatakan bahwa terdapat pengaruh dari model Learning Cycle 5E terhadap penguasaan konsep dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik pada materi elastisitas dan hukum hooke. The Influence of the 5E Learning Cycle Model on Concept Mastery and Problem Solving Ability in Elasticity and Hooke's Law Material Abstract This study aims to determine the effect of the 5E Learning Cycle model on concept mastery and problem-solving skills on the topics of elasticity and Hooke's law. This type of research is a quasi-experiment with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study comprises all 138 students of class XI MAN 1 Mataram. The sample used in this study includes class XI Science 1, with 35 students as the experimental class, and class IX Science 4, with 34 students as the control class. The sample was selected using purposive sampling techniques. The test instruments used in this study consist of 20 multiple-choice questions for concept mastery and 6 essay questions for problem-solving skills. These questions have been tested for validity, reliability, difficulty level, discriminating power, and distractor function analysis to be used in this study. The results showed that the average score for concept mastery in the experimental class was 74.00, while the control class scored 68.67. For problem solving skills, the average score in the experimental class was 69.14, compared to 58.52 in the control class. The prerequisite tests for posttest data analysis of concept mastery and problem-solving skills showed normal and homogeneous distributions. The data obtained were analyzed using MANOVA with the help of IBM SPSS 16. The hypothesis testing results showed a significance value of 0.00 with a significance level of 0.05, indicating that the 5E Learning Cycle model significantly affects students' concept mastery and problem-solving skills on the topics of elasticity and hooke's law.

Abstract

Keterampilan generik sains peserta didik jarang sekali diperhatikan dalam proses pembelajaran, hal ini disebabkan waktu efektif pembelajaran terbatas, sedangkan penilaian keterampilan generik sains membutuhkan waktu yang lebih lama. Selain itu, materi yang harus disajikan oleh guru cenderung lebih banyak. Penelitian  ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil pembelajaran dengan penerapan bahan ajar model project based learning untuk meningkatkan keterampilan generik sains peserta didik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa metode deskriptif dimana metode penelitian ini digunakan untuk menggambarkan fenomena atau karakteristik dari subjek yang diteliti secara sistematis dan akurat, dalam hal ini digunakan untuk mengetahui hasil pembelajaran dengan bahan ajar model project based learning. Bahan ajar yang diterapkan berupa bahan ajar yang sudah disesuaikan dengan silabus, Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) dan instrumen tes keterampilan generik sains. Materi yang disajikan pada bahan ajar tersebut yakni tentang alat-alat optik. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa angket respon peserta didik terhadap bahan ajar yang ditrapkan dan uji N-Gain hasil nilai pretest dan posttest dengan menggunakan instrumen tes keterampilan generik sains. Hasil yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini berupa respon peserta didik terhadap bahan ajar yang di terapkan memperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 83,73% dengan kategori sangat praktis. Sedangkan keterampilan generik sains peserta didik diperoleh dari hasil uji N-Gain sebesar 0,57 dengan kategori sedang. Hal ni menunjukkan bahwa penerapan bahan ajar model project based learning efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan generik sains peserta didik. Application of Project Based Learning Model Teaching Materials to Improve Students' Generic Science Skills Abstract Students' generic science skills are rarely given attention in the learning process. This is due to the limited effective learning time, while the assessment of generic science skills requires more time. In addition, the material that must be presented by the teacher tends to be more extensive. This study aims to determine the learning outcomes through the application of project-based learning model teaching materials to improve students' generic science skills. The research method used in this study is a descriptive method, which is used to describe the phenomena or characteristics of the subjects studied systematically and accurately. In this case, it is used to determine the learning outcomes with project-based learning model teaching materials. The teaching materials applied have been adjusted to the syllabus, Lesson Plans (RPP), and generic science skills test instruments. The material presented in these teaching materials is about optical instruments. The data collection techniques used in this study include questionnaires on students' responses to the applied teaching materials and the N-Gain test of pretest and posttest scores using the generic science skills test instrument. The results obtained in this study indicate that students' responses to the applied teaching materials received an average score of 83.73% in the very practical category. Meanwhile, students' generic science skills were obtained from the N-Gain test results of 0.57 in the medium category. This indicates that the application of project-based learning model teaching materials is effective in improving students' generic science skills.
