Abstract

Kecerdasan emosional merupakan salah satu faktor yang ada dalam diri siswa terhadap hasil belajarnya. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian ex-post facto yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kecerdasan emosional terhadap hasil belajar matematika Siswa Kelas VIII SMP Unismuh Makassar. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh individu yang akan dijadikan objek penelitian. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP Unismuh Makassar Kelas VIII. Jumlah populasi adalah 135 siswa. Untuk menetukan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan rumus Isaac and Michael, peneliti menentukan tingkat kesalahan 5%, sehingga jumlah sampel dengan populasi 135 adalah 100 sampel. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen-instrumen yaitu tes dan angket. Tes dilakukan untuk memperoleh infomasi tentang hasil belajar matematika siswa dan pengisian angket digunakan untuk mengukur kecerdasan emosional siswa berdasarkan indikator masing-masing variabel tersebut. Dan hasil penelitian ini memperoleh nilai konstan sebesar 25,504, berarti jika nilai kecerdasan emosi siswa adalah 0, maka nilai hasil belajar matematika siswa adalah 25,504. Koefisien regresi untuk variabel kecerdasan emosi adalah 0,614 yang berarti setiap kenaikan 1 unit skor kecerdasan emosional akan diikuti kenaikan hasil belajar 0,614 sehingga diperoleh persamaan regresi sederhana Y = 25,504+0,614X. Untuk menjawab hipotesis dlihat nilai dari thitung variabel kecerdasan emosi sebesar 0,00 menunjukkan H0 diterima yang berarti kecerdasan emosi berpengaruh positif terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Kemudian nilai probabilitas F (F-hitung) sebesar 0,00<0,05 dengan demikian model persamaan regresi linear berdasarkan data penelitian adalah signifikan, artinya model regresi linear memenuhi kriteria linearitas. Dengan kata lain, kecerdasan emosi berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa.

Abstract

This study addresses the need to improve fifth-grade students’ problem-solving skills and learning interest in spatial geometry—a topic often perceived as abstract and challenging—by developing an Augmented Reality (AR)-based instructional medium integrated with the e-IM3 (intelligent, meaningful, mindful, joyful) model. Grounded in the ADDIE framework, the research encompassed the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation phases at SDN Kwadungan Lor, Ngawi, East Java. Initial analysis via diagnostic tests and teacher interviews confirmed low baseline performance and motivation levels. The resulting AR-e-IM3 media underwent expert validation and readability testing, achieving high validity scores (media: 3.79; problem-solving instrument: 3.42; and interest instrument: 3.98). A limited trial (n = 10) and a large-scale trial (n = 32) demonstrated strong practicality (88% and 84.5%, respectively). Effectiveness was evidenced by moderate N-Gain improvements in problem-solving skills (0.58 and 0.51) and learning interest (0.63 and 0.51). These findings indicate that the AR-e-IM3 integration successfully fosters engagement and meaningful learning, aligning with Generation Alpha’s digital learning preferences. This study underscores the potential of technology-enhanced affective–cognitive models in elementary mathematics education. The implications include the scalable adoption of such media to strengthen 21st-century competencies—particularly critical thinking, spatial reasoning, and intrinsic motivation—while supporting curriculum innovation in resource-constrained settings.

Abstract

Untuk mengajarkan komunikasi matematika yang baik kepada siswa maka seorang guru harus memiliki kemampuan komunikasi matematika yang baik terlebih dahulu terutama dalam menyelesaikan masalah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan komunikasi matematika mahasiswa calon guru matematika laki-laki dan perempuan dalam menyelesaikan masalah persamaan diferensial.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dengan pendekatan kualitatif jenis deskriptif eksploratif. Subjek penelitian adalah satu mahasiswa calon guru matematika laki-laki dan satu mahasiswa calon guru matematika perempuan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes tertulis, penyampaian tes secara lisan, dan wawancara mendalam. Teknik keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi waktu. Teknik analisis data meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi serta penarikan kesimpulan.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematika mahasiswa perempuan baik secara tertulis maupun lisan dalam menyelesaikan masalah persamaan diferensial lebih baik jika dibandingkan dengan mahasiswa laki-laki.Kata Kunci: Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematika, Menyelesaikan Masalah, Persamaan Diferensial, Gender

Abstract

Written mathematical communication is an essential competency for pre-service mathematics teachers, yet limited studies have explored this skill among them. Prior studies have highlighted a correlation between communication skills and an individual's level of self-confidence. Because of that, this study aims to describe the written mathematical communication abilities and self-confidence levels of mathematics teacher candidates. The research involved 20 sixth-semester students of the Mathematics Education Program at Universitas Negeri Malang, with six participants selected through purposive sampling. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the study was conducted in three phases: planning, implementation, and conclusion. Data were collected through a written mathematical communication test and a self-confidence questionnaire, and analyzed using triangulation to ensure reliability. The results showed that two students with high self-confidence achieved level 4 in written mathematical communication, three students with moderate self-confidence attained levels 2–3, and one student with low self-confidence reached level 1. These findings indicate that self-confidence plays an important role in students’ written mathematical communication skills. Therefore, teacher education programs are encouraged to design learning activities that foster students’ confidence in expressing mathematical ideas in written form. Further studies with larger samples and broader contexts are recommended to validate these findings.

Abstract

This research was motivated by students' lack of interest and response to learning mathematics. Based on findings in the field, it was found that students still considered mathematics a scourge and the most boring subject. This study aims to determine the influence of habits of mind and mathematics interest on students' decision making through gamification learning. This is a correlational research ex post facto quantitative approach using double linear regression. The data were obtained through questionnaires and tests. The research was conducted at SMKN 1 Geger, Madiun, East Java, with research subjects consisting of students of class XI Islamic Banking 1 and class XI Automation of Office Management 1. The results showed that habits of mind and mathematics interest significantly positively affected students' decision making in mathematics through gamification learning.

Abstract

Pengembangan media pembelajaran inovatif diperlukan untuk mengatasi kesulitan siswa dalam memahami pecahan, yang hingga kini masih menjadi salah satu topik paling menantang dalam pembelajaran matematika di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan e-modul interaktif berbasis model e-IM3 melalui pendekatan Matematika Nalaria Realistik (MNR) pada materi operasi hitung pecahan serta mengevaluasi validitas, kepraktisan, dan efektivitasnya. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan Design Research pada 20 siswa kelas VI MIN 2 Kota Madiun. Data diperoleh melalui lembar validasi ahli, angket respon siswa, observasi kelas, serta tes hasil belajar (pre-test dan post-test). Analisis data dilakukan secara sistematis untuk menilai kelayakan e-modul. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa e-modul memperoleh skor rata-rata validasi 3,42 dari 4,00 (85,5%) dengan kategori “valid”. Uji kepraktisan menunjukkan lebih dari 85% siswa merasa e-modul menarik, mudah digunakan, dan membantu memahami materi. Dari segi efektivitas, nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat dari 70 (pre-test) menjadi 87 (post-test), sehingga terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan. Simpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa e-modul interaktif berbasis model e-IM3 dengan pendekatan MNR valid, praktis, dan efektif digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran inovatif pada materi operasi hitung pecahan di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Abstrak: Di era globalisasi, peningkatan kompetensi dosen merupakan kunci untuk menghasilkan lulusan unggul. Artikel ini menguraikan program pengabdian masyarakat yang bertujuan meningkatkan mutu akademik perguruan tinggi swasta di Kediri Raya dengan meningkatkan soft skill dan hard skill dosen pembimbing PKM. Program ini dilaksanakan melalui kombinasi ceramah, praktik langsung, dan diskusi kelompok terfokus (FGD) dalam lokakarya, pendampingan, serta simulasi pelaksanaan PKM. Kegiatan ini melibatkan 16 dosen dari PTS wilayah Kediri Raya. Data dikumpulkan melalui pre-test, post-test, survei angket, dan observasi kualitatif. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan kompetensi sebesar 58,6%, mencerminkan peningkatan pemahaman penjaminan mutu dan kemampuan supervisi. Tantangan yang dihadapi meliputi penerapan teknis QA dan kebutuhan tindak lanjut. Studi ini menyajikan model replikasi untuk pengembangan dosen serta rekomendasi praktis guna memperluas inisiatif serupa. Model ini diharapkan dapat diadaptasi oleh institusi lain guna mendukung perbaikan kualitas pendidikan tinggi.Abstract: In today’s globalized era, enhancing faculty competencies is essential for producing highly competitive graduates. This study presents a community service program aimed at improving the academic quality of private higher education institutions in Kediri Raya by developing both the soft and hard skills of faculty advisors involved in the PKM (Student Creativity Program). The program was implemented through a combination of lectures, hands-on practice, and focus group discussions (FGD) integrated within workshops, mentoring sessions, and simulated PKM activities. A total of 16 faculty members from private universities in the Kediri Raya region participated in the initiative. Data were collected using pre- and post-tests, structured questionnaires, and qualitative observations. Evaluation results revealed a 58.6% improvement in participants’ competencies, reflecting enhanced understanding of quality assurance and supervisory practices. Challenges included technical issues related to QA implementation and the need for ongoing follow-up. This study proposes a replicable model for faculty development and offers practical recommendations for extending similar initiatives to other institutions to foster sustainable improvements in higher education quality.

Abstract

This research and development study aimed to create Canva-based interactive digital media to enhance the mathematical literacy skills of fifth-grade students. Using the ADDIE model, the study involved two expert validators (media and materials experts with doctoral qualifications in instructional technology and more than 15 years of teaching experience) and 28 fifth-grade students from SDN Kersoharjo 2 Geneng as subjects. Expert validation used a 5-point Likert scale, yielding scores of 4.35/5.00 (87%) for materials and 4.45/5.00 (89%) for media, both categorized as highly feasible. Small-scale trials (n=10, purposive sampling) and large-scale implementation (n=28, the whole class) were conducted. Mathematical literacy was assessed through pre-test and post-test instruments covering formulation, application, interpretation, and reasoning skills. Results showed a significant improvement from the pre-test (M=62, SD=x.xx) to the post-test (M=84, SD=x.xx), with a paired t-test yielding t (27)=x.xx, p<0.05. The N-Gain score of 0.58 indicated medium effectiveness. Student response questionnaires (n=28) showed that 92% found the media attractive and that 88% reported increased confidence. The Canva-based media proved effective for enhancing mathematical literacy through interactive visual learning.

Abstract

This study aims to develop Wordwall-based interactive digital media to enhance second-grade students' interest and learning outcomes in addition and subtraction. Mathematics learning in elementary schools faces challenges, including low student interest and poor learning outcomes due to limited variation in teaching methods and media. This research employs the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) with 28 second-grade students as the subjects. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests. The developed media presents addition and subtraction through engaging educational games designed for students in the concrete operational stage, featuring virtual manipulatives that simulate hands-on learning experiences. Validation results show high media quality with expert ratings of 92% (material validity) and 88% (media validity). Learning interest increased significantly, with 89% of students responding positively to the interactive features. Learning outcomes improved substantially, with pre-test scores averaging 65.4, increasing to post-test scores of 84.2, and classical learning completeness rising from 57% to 89%. Statistical analysis (paired t-test, p < 0.05) confirms a significant improvement. This research demonstrates that Wordwall-based digital manipulatives effectively enhance both interest and achievement in elementary mathematics, contributing to the quality of education in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between learning interest and critical thinking skills on students’ mathematics achievement. The research subjects were 47 fifth-grade students from SDN Kedungrejo 1 and SDN Kropak 1 in Probolinggo Regency. Data were collected using test instruments and questionnaires, both of which were assessed through validity and reliability testing. The results confirmed that all instruments were valid and reliable for use in data collection. Furthermore, a normality test using the Kolmogorov–Smirnov method indicated that the data were normally distributed, with a significance value of 0.200, which exceeds the 0.05 threshold. The findings reveal that neither learning interest nor critical thinking skills has a significant relationship with fifth-grade students’ mathematics achievement at SDN Kedungrejo 1 and SDN Kropak 1. The significance values of the correlation were 0.580 for learning interest and 0.564 for critical thinking skills, both exceeding the 5% significance level. This indicates that these variables do not serve as direct predictors of mathematics achievement in this study. However, the analysis also shows that learning interest and critical thinking skills are strongly and significantly correlated with each other, with a correlation coefficient of 0.984 and a significance level of 0.001. This finding suggests that the two variables move in the same direction and mutually reinforce each other in the learning process, despite not directly influencing mathematics achievement.Therefore, this study indicates that students’ mathematics achievement at SDN Kedungrejo 1 and SDN Kropak 1 is likely influenced by other factors beyond learning interest and critical thinking skills, such as instructional quality, family support, intrinsic motivation, or foundational mathematical abilities.
