Abstract

Adlerian counseling is a counseling approach developed by psychologist Alfred Adler which focuses on understanding individuals as part of a social and cultural context, as well as individual motivation to achieve life goals, by paying attention to power dynamics, motivation, self-confidence and interpersonal relationships in an effort to help individuals overcome problems and grow personally. The method used in this research is qualitative with a type of literature study. Literature study is solving problems by tracing sources of writing that has been written before. The sources obtained are used as literature study material and are arranged according to the rules of scientific writing. The aim of this research is to find out in depth about Adlerian counseling theory. The research findings discuss: (1) Views on human nature, (2) Subjective perceptions of reality, (3) Unity and patterns of human personality, (4) Social interests and feelings of community, (5) Birth order and sibling relationships.

Abstract

KIPAS model counseling is a form of counseling that is rooted in Indonesian cultural values. This culture-based approach is believed to be able to change the existing belief system, so that it can encourage the desired behavior change. The method used in this study is qualitative with the type of literature study. Literature study is a method used to collect data or sources relevant to the topic discussed in a research. This method is carried out by collecting data from various sources of literature, such as books, journals, articles, and other documents that are related to the research topic. The purpose of this study is to find out in depth about the model of Structural Adaptive Intensive Intensive Counseling (KIPAS). The findings of this study are discussed: (1) History of Structural Progressive Intensive Counseling (KIPAS), (2) Definition of Structural Adaptive Intensive Counseling (KIPAS), (3) Structural Adaptive Intensive Counseling (KIPAS) form model, (4) Structural Adaptive Progressive Intensive Counseling (KIPAS) steps, (5) Disadvantages and advantages of Structural Adaptive Progressive Intensive Counseling (KIPAS)

Abstract

Catur Murti Counseling integrates the concept of self-acceptance as a foundation that aims to provide a deep understanding of self-development and interpersonal relationships through a psychological approach. Catur Murti, which originates from Javanese culture, teaches the importance of balance in four aspects of life: spiritual, intellectual, emotional, and physical. By using qualitative research methods and using types of literature studies that aim to describe the facts that have been collected and then provide explanations and understanding of the facts regarding the concept of catur murti counseling. This counseling not only helps individuals understand themselves, but also in building harmonious relationships with others. Through counseling techniques based on the principles of Catur Murti, individuals are invited to explore their potential, overcome conflicts, and create a more meaningful life.

Abstract

Multicultural competence is a crucial aspect for counselors in addressing diverse clients. Multicultural counseling training aims to enhance counselors' understanding of various values, norms, and cultural practices. This research employs a literature review method by collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing various academic sources, including books, research journals, and relevant scientific articles published. The findings indicate that this training helps counselors identify personal biases, improve cross-cultural communication skills, and develop more inclusive intervention strategies. A well-structured multicultural counseling approach can enhance the accessibility and quality of mental health services in diverse communities.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country rich in cultural and ethnic diversity. Each culture serves as a unique identity for different ethnic groups, shaping the behavior, traditions, and way of life of its people. This multicultural diversity presents challenges in counseling practice, especially for counselors who must understand and respond to the needs of clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. Multicultural counseling emerges as an approach that is sensitive to cultural differences, emphasizing the importance of understanding diverse values, norms, and cultural perspectives to ensure effective counseling processes. This article describes the essence of multicultural counseling, the concept of culture, and culture as a system of societal values and practices. Using a qualitative descriptive method with a literature study approach, this research provides an in-depth analysis of the counselor’s role in addressing cultural diversity and the implications of cultural values in guidance and counseling practice. The findings indicate that a deep understanding of the client's culture and the application of cultural relativism principles are crucial to avoid cultural bias and provide fair and empathetic services.

Abstract

This research discusses the phenomenon of gender issues in multicultural counseling in Indonesia, focusing on the tradition of Kawin Tangkap (Piti Rambang) in Sumba tribe, East Nusa Tenggara. The purpose of the research is to analyze the social and psychological impact of the practice of Kawin Tangkap on women, as well as how multicultural counseling can provide solutions. The research method used was a literature study, which involved collecting and analyzing data from various sources, including journals, articles, and documents related to gender issues. The results showed that the Kawin Tangkap tradition is a form of gender-based violence that violates women's rights and contradicts positive law.

Abstract

This article discusses the importance of a multicultural approach in guidance and counseling, in a country rich in cultural diversity. Within this context, counselors are expected to understand and appreciate the cultural differences faced by clients, including different values, norms, and perspectives. Multicultural counseling not only increases the effectiveness of the counseling process, but also creates a safe counseling environment for clients to express themselves. By understanding the client's cultural background, the counselor can minimize potential conflicts and increase confidence in the counseling relationship. This research uses a qualitative method with a literature study to explore the challenges and solutions in multicultural counseling practice. The findings of this article suggest that sensitivity to cultural diversity is essential for successful inclusive and responsive counseling.

Abstract

This article discusses the importance of counselor ethics and competencies in the context of multicultural counseling in Indonesia. Counseling, as a professional service, requires an ethical relationship between counselor and client to support individual development. By upholding ethical values, counselors can understand and appreciate the cultural differences that exist, thus being able to provide inclusive and effective services. This research uses a qualitative method with a literature study to explore the function of ethics in multicultural counseling and the barriers faced. The results showed that multicultural awareness and ethical competence are necessary to overcome challenges in counseling practice.

Abstract

Identity as the essence of the person, is recognized as something that continues to develop despite being influenced by environmental and social factors. Social identity theory, which emphasizes the influence of social groups on self-concept, is an important foundation in understanding this dynamic. Multicultural counseling involves a deep understanding of the cultural characteristics of the counselee. This research uses qualitative methods with literature study techniques. The purpose of this research is to find out the social identity in multicultural counseling. The results of the study include: (1) social psychology identity development, (2) the context of the emergence of multicultural counseling, (3) multicultural conceptual development, and (4) the role of counselors in multicultural counseling social identity.

Abstract

Pancawaskita Counseling is an eclectic approach in guidance and counseling aimed at understanding and assisting individuals by integrating five key factors: Pancasila, Pancadaya, Lirahid (five life domains), Likuladu (five external forces), and Masidu (five internal conditions of individuals). This approach is designed to address challenges in counseling services within a multicultural environment like Indonesia, which is characterized by cultural and social diversity. The techniques used in Pancawaskita Counseling include client acceptance, reflection of content and feelings, as well as specific methods such as lifestyle analysis and role-playing. This study employs a literature review method, which involves collecting data from various reliable sources, reading, taking notes, and analyzing information using a descriptive approach. The purpose of this study is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the concepts, techniques, and procedures in Pancawaskita Counseling and to evaluate its strengths and weaknesses. The findings indicate that Pancawaskita Counseling offers flexibility in adapting counseling methods to clients' needs. However, its application remains limited due to a lack of understanding and minimal development in the field.
