Abstract

Purpose: This research evaluates the ability of environmental regulations to prevent the degradation of natural resources in designated forests that are among the protected forests in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Although a comprehensive system of laws exists to protect these forests, the persistence of extensive environmental degradation reveals weaknesses in implementation and enforcement. Subjects and Methods: A qualitative approach was employed, involving interviews with governmental officials, local community leaders, the National Offices of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), and field officers. This was complemented by analysis of policy documents and direct field observations to capture both institutional and practical dimensions of forest governance. Results: The study finds that environmental degradation persists due to entrenched institutional fragmentation, limited capacity within forest management units (KPH), inter-agency tensions, and poor coordination across vertical and horizontal levels of governance. Furthermore, there is a critical mismatch between state-led conservation programs and community livelihoods, worsened by limited communal planning and a lack of viable economic alternatives for forest-dependent populations. Conclusions: The paper contributes to management literature by redefining environmental regulatory effectiveness beyond legal compliance, emphasizing institutional governance, stakeholder alignment, and strategic adaptation. It concludes that effective conservation depends on multi-stakeholder governance, institutional reform, co-management structures, and adaptive governance tools that align with the socio-ecological realities of South Sulawesi’s forests.

Abstract

Emotional regulation is a crucial aspect of the teaching profession, particularly in a spiritually-based educational environment like the Pasraman (Islamic school). This study aims to explore teachers' subjective experiences in managing emotions while serving as educators at the Paratama Widya Pasraman Cahaya Saraswati in Karanganyar Regency. Using the Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) method, data were collected from five teachers through participant observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews. Findings indicate that teachers' emotional regulation is grounded in Hindu values such as satya (honesty), ksama (patience), and bhakti (spiritual devotion). Teachers view swadharma (sacred duty) as part of emotional awareness, which is carried out with spiritual awareness. Strategies used include spiritual reflection, self-control through japa (prayer), and a compassionate, dialogical approach. This study confirms that understanding emotional regulation in Hindu education is inseparable from the cultural and religious context. These findings contribute theoretically to discussions of emotions in alternative education and offer practical implications for teacher training that emphasizes spirituality and emotional well-being. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the cultural coaching for prospective hajj pilgrims through the sesucen bath ritual in Jangga Village, Losarang District, Indramayu Regency. This ritual is a form of spiritual purification performed prior to the hajj pilgrimage as a preparation for inner readiness. The research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal three main aspects. First, the sesucen bath ritual is carried out through several stages: the shalat safar prayer, recitation of ruqyah verses, purification bathing, religious briefing by local clerics, joint prayer, the call to prayer, and walking on a shroud cloth as a symbol of spiritual protection. Second, the pilgrims understanding of the ritual varies; some perceive it as a valid form of spiritual strengthening based on Qur’anic verses, while others regard it as an unnecessary additional practice not required by Islamic law. Third, the cultural coaching encompasses four dimensions: cultural-religious, social-relational, managerial, and religious moderation. The study concludes that a cultural coaching grounded in religious moderation effectively maintains a balance between Islamic values and local cultural traditions, offering strategic recommendations for religious leaders to prepare hajj pilgrims who are spiritually, socially, and managerially ready without neglecting their cultural roots.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the psychological experiences of Generation Z entrepreneurs in Jakarta who seize opportunities in tourism-related businesses such as open trips, beauty services, laundry, culinary ventures, and souvenir shops. Using a qualitative phenomenological design, this research adopts an Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) approach to understand how young entrepreneurs interpret their entrepreneurial journeys in a rapidly changing digital era. Five Gen-Z entrepreneurs participated in semi-structured interviews, and the data were analyzed through a hermeneutic and idiographic process to capture the depth of lived experiences. The analysis revealed three superordinate themes: (1) self-confidence, characterized by technological mastery and optimism in facing business challenges; (2) independence, reflected in their preference for freedom of expression and anti-hierarchical work culture; and (3) pragmatism, denoting a lifestyle-oriented pursuit of financial freedom and comfort. These findings contribute to a deeper understanding of Gen-Z entrepreneurial identity and offer practical implications for developing entrepreneurship education and character-building programs in both formal and informal educational settings.

Abstract

One of the prolonged conflicts between Palestine and Israel has yet to find a solution. This study aims to explore Indonesian online media in framing news about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict during the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023. It analyzes the factors that influence framing, public opinion, and foreign policy. This study uses qualitative research with a framing analysis approach. As for data collection techniques through observation, digital searches, news selection, and documentation. Data analysis uses Robert N. Entman's framing model, and data validity uses audit trails. The results show that Indonesian media frames the conflict with different emphases within a strong pro-Palestinian consensus. Kompas.com and CNBC Indonesia emphasize the cycle of structural violence, Liputan6.com focuses on the humanitarian tragedy, SINDOnews.com sees it as a geopolitical maneuver, and Metrotvnews.com sees it as a struggle for independence. Although varied, all media outlets show sympathy for Palestine with ambiguous diction for Hamas and encourage diplomatic solutions. This framing is shaped by a national consensus based on religious solidarity, anti-colonial identity, and alignment between public opinion, government policy, and media coverage. This study contributes to Islamic communication scholarship by showing how religious solidarity, justice, and anti-colonialism shape media framing and mediate the relationship between Muslim public opinion, state policy, and media discourse. ***** Salah satu konflik berkepanjangan antara Palestina dan Israel belum menemukan solusi. Abstract

This study examines the content validity of the spiritual guidance intensity instrument through expert judgment from five Islamic counseling and psychology experts. A total of 48 items were analyzed using Aiken's V formula. The results showed that 39 items (81.25%) were declared acceptable and 9 items (18.75%) were acceptable with minor revisions, indicating good content validity for the entire instrument. This indicates that all items have good content validity and are suitable for use. This study confirms that behavioural and observable dimensions tend to have higher and more consistent content validity than experiential or transformational dimensions. Theoretically, this study contributes to the development of spiritual guidance measurement instruments with an evidence-based approach through content validation. This study is the first to test the feasibility of spiritual guidance intensity instruments based on expert judgement.

Abstract

Background:Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that has long-term impacts on the quality of human resources. Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) data shows that the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia remains high, including in Blora Regency, Central Java, particularly in Kediren Village, which recorded a figure of 22.1%. This situation requires active community involvement in supporting Community Health Center (Puskesmas) nutrition programs as a mitigation effort. Aims:This study aims to describe the form of community participation in the Kutukan Community Health Center nutrition program and identify the factors that influence this participation. Methods:The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including interviews, observation, and documentation. Informants were selected purposively, including health workers, integrated health post (Posyandu) cadres, village officials, pregnant women, and members of the community with stunted toddlers. Data analysis was conducted interactively using the Miles and Huberman model, supported by triangulation of sources, techniques, and time to ensure data validity. Result:The research results show that community participation manifests itself in the form of ideas, energy, skills, materials, and social aspects. The stages of participation include planning, implementation, utilization of results, and evaluation. Supporting factors for participation include government intervention, free programs, and public awareness, while inhibiting factors include low nutritional knowledge, time constraints due to work, suboptimal communication, and lack of program follow-up. Conclusion:This study concludes that community participation plays a vital role in the success of the stunting reduction program in Kediren Village. To increase the program's effectiveness and sustainability, strategies are needed to strengthen the capacity of cadres, intensify outreach, and strengthen collaboration between health workers, the village government, and the community.
